Just wondering if anyone else out there has a fussy man in the house.

No matter what I cook I can just see on his face any or all of the following (and to just clear it up, it's not BECAUSE of my cooking, it's WHAT I'm cooking!!!!):-

1) Oh, not that again ... (...only cause your so damn fussy!)
2) Yuk, Yuk, Yuk ...
3) You know I don't like/eat that ...
4) What do you think I am, a rabbit? ...

We only eat what he calls 'normal' stuff ... meat and vege ... hardly eats fruit/veges, hates pasta & the sauces, struggles to eat rice, curried sausages etc etc.

Sometimes I just want to slap him ... he's so damn fussy :banghead: :banghead:

He likes the reef and beef I make - steak with a creamy garlic sauce and prawns on a bed of mash or served with oven cooked chips (I'm over it!) with a side serve of steamed veges too (not that he eats them...), cottage/potato pie (not overly keen, but eats it), crumbed chicken with mash & steamed veges, braised steak/onions out of a can in a toasted sandwich (IMO - totally :barf:!) and will only eat veges if it's a mashed spud or comes in the form of a chip :banghead:, oh, and the occasional steamed carrot.

I'm starting to think I might just cook what I want to, clear the cupboards out of all the rubbish food so he doesn't have anything else to eat and make him either starve or eat what I serve.

.... suggestions anyone??!!

I can sympathise.

I try and eat healthy and he picks out all the vegetables and only eats meat if its fried or coated in cheese and sour cream :banghead:

I'm sick and tire dof cooking for him. he orders pizza 5 nights a week because he doesn't like the fact that I serve vegetables with my dinners.

I thought my hubbie was fussy. Your hubbie takes the cake (JK). Hubbie hates store bought stir-frys ie lenards chinese honey and soy chicken stir fry I love it as Its fast and easy and since lately I have been so sick I can't hardly keep anything down. He's okay with pasta and rice and things like that and loves his veges but I'm the one who hates veges and I mean hate them I rather eat cardboard then eat them especially raw veges.

Here a few tips I can give:

If he doesn't like it tell him, he can either eat it, starve, or go cook/buy something - that always works 100% of the time for me
Make something he likes once a week - he loves a particular dish called Chicken and Corn casserole and absolutely hate it with a passion but I make it occasionally for him and suck it up
Cook a huge side dish of veges just for him and Jess

How about asking him to pick a few receipes and help you make them

He's not a big fan of meat and vege or fish but i can get around it.

I'm pretty lucky, DH will eat anything I make (cos that means he hasn't had to make anything himself!) so long as it doesn't have bones or shells. No T bone, no prawns, no drumsticks until I cut all the meat off for him

Simple solution - Make him cook.

I went on kitchen strike for 2 weeks with my ex.. I cooked for myself and made him get his own.. funnily enough - they can get sick of meat after eating it for lunch and dinner two weeks solid.
He begged me to cook him something different in the end.

Or you could just simply say - this is what Im cooking - if you don't like it - you know where the fridge is.
Its almost like having another kid.. my kids do the same faces to me.. but the food still gets stuck in front of them and they starve if they dont eat it.
(altho I will allow them to have fruit even if they dont eat dinner)

He'll remember what your cooking tasted like after a while - and He'll liken it to lobster lmao (let me guess - he doesnt like that anyways lol - but you get the point)

My DP..would try it, within reason, i love it, i get a great giggle out of it.

My DP refuses to eat anything reheated  He refuses to eat curried sausages (bad experience when his dad ate it) and will only eat soups and stews made by his dead grandma :p

Men. I've learnt to tell him that unless he cooks before he goes and reheats things himself, he eats what he is given.

I agree! Go on strike and make him cook his own dinner!!
I am lucky DF will eat anything and i haven't made anything he doesn't like yet :fingerscrossed: He loves cooking and does all the cooking on the weekends he works afternoon shifts otherwise he would probably cook during the week too!!

My hubby is shocking.
I couldn't even list here all the things he won't eat
Basically I've found with picky eaters - they will be as picky as you allow them to be and indulging/pandering to their likes and dislikes just makes them worse.
I buy what me and DD like to eat (which is pretty much everything lol) and if I cook, I cook what I want and it's up to him if he eats it. If I only cooked what he liked I'd fad e away to a shadow and DD would end up picky as him - and I won't let THAT happen!!
