You can message the mods to reset your password and merge your accounts. :)
Im sorry honey. Have you considered seeing a psychologist to help you with your fear? *hugs* :hugs: *hugs*
It looks like you might only have a couple of options open to you then.
See another Dr- perhaps paying for one if thats what it takes but I can almost guarantee you'll get one in the private sector.
or
Getting some professional help to help you deal with your fears as best you can. Book yourself into a physc and work on it intensively for as long s you have left.
And dont stress about sizing, it's ok that you're measuring a bit bigger, it's common and does not necessarily mean that you will have a bigger bub.
I can totally understand your fear - this was mine too and luckily I had to have a planned c-section (placenta praevia). However before this was discovered I had requested and got the ok for an elective c-section - are you going public or private? Not sure where you are but if you want to know what OB I went to you can PM me
Um...first of all :hugs::hugs:...I'm sorry your doctor is being an insensitive fool.
Second of all, I would make an appointment with your GP, let them know about your anxieties and get them to write a note stating they support you in your wishes to have a CS. I would then be demanding to speak to the person in charge of obstetrics at the hospital about it and show them the note and state your reasons why you require a CS.
If you really, really want a CS - then demand it. Fight for it. I know it may be hard but if it's something you feel strongly about it's well worth fighting for the birth you want :):hugs:

I've been seeing a psych since 18 weeks along. Hasn't really helped and she thinks i should be on anti-depressants. And yeah i know its normal to measure big ect hehe i am just sooooo over being pregnant, needed to have a whinge :)
Can you get your Psych to make contact with your Dr about your anxiety. A mental health expert such as a Psych may have a better shot at convincing your Dr that the anxiety you have is a serious medical problem and therefore warrant an elective c-section.
Good luck :)

I am thinking about asking him again at my next appointment. He seems worried about how big the baby is and that mixed with my maternal tachycardia ill try and get one based on medical reasons, but who knows!! he keeps going on about how this is my 4th and it will practically 'fall out' soooo frustrating!

Are the Anti-D's not an option for you?
Im sorry you have no control on how you birth and i'm sorry your scared:hugs:

Can you pay to be admitted as a private patient for a c/s? I think it would probably be a few grand but if you are so upset and worried it would all be worth it.

Like someone said go to your G.P and get a letter.
Legally I don't know they can refuse you like that.
I know heaps of people who had c/s in the public section simply because they wanted it!
Can you see another doctor in the hospital?
Grr - why don't some Drs realise just how dangerous it can be to force women into birthing situations they are not comfortable wiht:banghead:
Get a Private ob if you can, honestly you need to be able to birth the way you want.
I understand your fear, my baby was measuring big the entire pregnancy, and i was patted on the head like an idiot from everyone, GP's, sonographers, midwives etc. 'Your just a first time mum, they all said, you baby will be about 8 pounds'.
Well 24 hours into labour, they discovered he was stuck and finally gave me the c section i wanted. He was 10 1/2 pounds. I had NO PROBLEM in venting my anger to the Dr and midwives on how i didn't appreciate being patted on the head like an idiot, when i had real general concerns!
Stand by what you want, its your body and after all, the mothers intuition is the best measurment ever! You will do just fine and feel a whole lot better when you get someone who really LISTENS to you. All the very best! :santa:
Just wanted to say I was extremely anxious and adamant that I want a c section due to several personal reasons. I too am going thru public and was terrified I would be denied, though I was prepared to do whatever it took to fight it.
Good news - yesterday I went to an appt with the Obs clinic at the hospital to discuss my med history and my request. The Obstetrician I saw asked for the reasons why I wanted a c sect, then said she thinks I will get my wish, as she thinks my reasons are understandable and she doesn't see any reason why I would be denied.
You may be interested to know she also said that in the Public system can't actually force anyone to push if they don't want to, and alot of labour is about your mindset and motivation so if you are resisting it and are very anxious about it, chances are your labour won't progress properly and you will end up with an emergency c sect anyway.
She said that if such a request is ever denied, you can contest this and it goes up further. So in short, they CANNOT force you into a vaginal birth. They may discourage it, try to persuade you, tell you no... But at the end of the day if you stick to what you know you want and find out what the process is at the hospital to get it, you will! Don't back down, you know what's best for you and your baby and that has nothing to do with their politics, statistics or money.
