DS2 (11 weeks) co sleeps with me every night on a queen matress on the floor in his room. I love this arrangement as he wakes every two to three hours a night for feeds so it is much easier just to be with him and feed him there. He was sleeping through the day mostly in the ergo or wrap, but has been getting worse with his day sleeps. He doesn't sleep more than 10 minutes in the wrap/ ergo and if I rock him and pit him in the bed or his cot he'll only sleep for a maximum of 20 minutes but it is usually also a lot less. It now seems as if the only way he'll sleep for any length of time is if I'm there ion the bed with him, as them he'll sleep over an hour more!

I wouldn't mind so much except I have things I have to do during the day and will need to start work again soon. I work from home so that makes it easier, but if I'm in bed all day or trying to get a baby to sleep all day then i can't work!

Do other co sleepers also have this problem? I'm at a loss as some days poor DS2 can go hours without any proper sleep

You might find it easier to get things done if you do back carry? I usually just relaxed for the time he slept and did stuff while he was awake in the carrier.

Thanks Thermolicious. I was thinking of giving the back carry a go and see if he sleeps better that way. The problem is if he does sleep carried I have to keep moving or he'll wake up. Also he wakes really easily with noise or changes in movement (like reaching, bending etc). He'll also just wake after 10 minutes or so anyway. It makes going on the computer very hard as I can't sit still, even if he is awake as he'll freak out!!

At the moment I'm lying next to my DD in bed while she naps so we are in the same situation I think lol. My DD sleeps for over an hour with me next to her, and about 30 mins if I leave her. What I have started doing is make sure she is asleep, getting up and doing what i need to for 25 mins then coming back to her as she starts to wake and patting her back to sleep, then I get anothet half hour to get up and do things. It's definitly not ideal so I will be watching this thread for ideas!

He might be having a grow spurt?

I might try that Princessmum! Thanks.

That's what I was thinking too Thermolicious. I'll see how we go over the next few days.

DP thinks DS is just used to me always there so he won't sleep without me. I was wondering if other cosleepers had this too or it was just a phase? (would love to prove DP wrong :))

btw I'm on my phone so my posts loolk to me like their coming up all weird!! Don't know why!

DD has her big arvo sleep with me usually(i internet on my laptop from bed) but her other naps she's happy in the sling/car/arms.
but she's 6months now and I CAN sneak out of bed on her big sleep (dont tell DH as I enjoy the nap/net time  )
