Hello to you all
Let me introduce myself. I am a 32 with DH 32 and no children. We have been together 12 years and TTC for 6 years. Having been doing IVF for 2 years ICSI with 6 cycles and 1 pregnancy which was eptopic therefore had left FT removed. We have just had 16 months break, regaining normal life and getting married. We are booked in for our first appointment of our next cycle on September 13. We have one grade 1 frozen embryo stored. We are praying that this will be the one. Very excited.:)
I am so happy that I have found this website. I have learnt through the years that it is so much healthier to discuss your problems than to hold it inside. It is amazing to read so many stories and experiences like ours. It makes you realize that you don’t have to be by yourself.
Cant wait to speak.

Hello
Welcome to bubhub and good luck with your next IVF cycle.
It took us 5 years of TTC'ing before finally conceiving with donor sperm through insemination. So I understand your frustration and what you are going through.
I really hope you have your little miracle soon :hugs:

Thank you all for your support. I am so sorry that I have not got back sooner. Have been very busy at work. I have just caught a cold so home sick today and have time to check bubhub community out.

Helbels - congratulations on finally conceiving. It must have been hard with finding donor sperm.

Chookie - Good luck on 1st cycle.

Hi All

I am about 1 week away from starting our first cycle of IVF/ICSI. We conceived Lachlan naturally, having been TTC#2 for 9 months. My hormones are running at 25% of normal and I have a blocked left tube. We have had our initial appointment at Fert WA (www.fertwa.com.au), will be injecting Puregon and Lucrin from day 2 of next cycle.

Good luck everyone :fingerscrossed: :fingerscrossed:

Hi Leannelizzy
Good luck for your 1st IVF/ICSI Cycle. Is Fert WA a new clinic. I haven't heard of that one before. I go to the Hollywood Fertility Centre. I also use Puregon and Lucrin. This cycle we are doing a FET so is much easier.(not as many drugs).
I hope all goes well. :fingerscrossed:

Hi Auntyof11

Yes, Fert WA is new, it has some of the staff from Hollywood working there.

Good luck to you with your FET.

:fingerscrossed: for BFPs all round!

Thanks Jo-anne

I am hopeful for a quick successful result given we had no probs conceiving Lachlan. :fingerscrossed: the injections work at it is just a formality for us. As I have discussed in other forums I have a family history of early menopause and it looks like that, complicated by DH swimmers and my blocked tube, might have lead us to IVF/ICSI. I am trying to stay positive and not stress :shame:

:fingerscrossed: to all

We have started our first cycle. Early days but everything is going well at the moment. I have blood tests and ultrasounds on Monday, Wednesday and Friday this week, can't wait to see the progress. :fingerscrossed: everything is doing what it should.

hi there.

leannelizzy: I was just wondering you mentioned that you have a history of early menopause. My mum went through menopause at the age of 40 so I to am concerned, I have just had my 35th birthday so am getting a little toey. I had my 1st ivf round a couple of months ago had 8 eggs collected but they degenerated before transfer. They said that it was due to poor egg quality. Can I ask what your indications have been of maybe early menopause? I am seeing a chinese herbalist and the fact that I can still produce that many eggs, she thinks that it is my af is causing the quality.
Please I hope I am not getting to private?

I guess we all just need some sort of hope.

thankyou for reading kerri

Hi Kerri

No you are not being too private. I feel I must point out that my mum was 37 years old when she started menopause and her mum was 38.

I have suspected and been concerned about early menopause for over 3 years now. Before we conceived Lachie, I was having what I thought were hot flushes. I had full blood work done (twice) and my levels were said to be normal. I did my own research into the normal levels of hormones and mine were actually in the lower part of the normal range. Then we conceived Lachie and I thought nothing more of it until we were TTC #2.

So after 6 months of TTC and using OPKs with no 2nd line, I thought I should go back to my Ob/Gyn. Anyway, a set of ovulation tracking blood work showed my hormones running at 25% of optimum. Basically when you are ovulating you oestrogen levels should be close to 1000 and mine were at 260. When I got the results I asked my Dr whether my levels could be linked to early menopause - basically it could be but there is no definitive answer one way or the other. The patholgy labs have a menopause indicator test which came up negative, but he said it is not the most accurate test around (basically even though it said no, I might be pre-menopausal)

Anyway today I had my blood test and ultrasound. I have 7 follicles at the moment (3 on one side and 4 on the other) but I suspect my hormone levels are still low. I have been injecting 150 units of Puregon for 5 days and the clinic have upped my dose to 225 units from Tuesday (CD8) and I go back for another ultrasound and blood test on Friday (CD11).

:fingerscrossed: my follicles grow nice and big and we can stay on track for this month. If this month is not to be, at least we can go into next month a little more educated in how my body is working.

Well, I had another blood test and ultrasound yesterday. Not the best news unfortunately . My left ovary now has 5 follicles (1 big beauty, 2 smaller and 2 smaller still), while the right as 3 follicles all not worth measuring (in the Dr's words). I have been emotionally up and down all yesterday but am trying to not let it ruin my long weekend. I have to go back for another ultrasound on Monday (public holiday here in WA), so I am hoping the 2 middle sized follicles will catch up to the big one. egg retrieval will go ahead and maybe we can still get a good number of eggs.

Anyway, not going to dwell on it too much today as there is a football game to concentrate on!!

GO WEST COAST!!!

YAY!!! :yelclap:

Just got back from my appt and fantastic news.

Firstly, had my Ob/Gyn do the scan, he was saying my bloods and scans don't match. Bloods say I should have plenty of follicles that are maturing nicely, scans have been saying otherwise.

Secondly, I have 8 follicles on the left and 7 on the right. Of the 8, 4 are bigger than 15mm and one is 10mm, and of the 7, 3 are bigger than 15mm and one is 11mm. He was able to do the whole scan and measure in under 5 minutes as opposed to 10-15 minutes on Friday with only seeing half the follicles. To be fair to that Dr, I think my right ovary has moved to a better position.

Thirdly, my lining is looking fantastic and the perfect place for our embryo to call home for 8-9 months.

Just waiting on a phonecall to find out when to do my trigger injection and when my egg pick up will be, looks like either Wednesday or Thursday. I think my Dr is pushing for Thursday (gives the follicles another day to mature).

As you can probably tell from my :ecomcity: :ecomcity: I am absolutely ecstatic.

:fingerscrossed: all will go well this week.

Of my 6 eggs, 4 fertilised normally. I have my ET tomorrow, getting excited now but trying to keep a lid on it.

Hi leannelizzy

That's great news all the best fingers crossed for you & your family :fingerscrossed:
I had 9 eggs at my OPU.
Out of the 9 eggs 4 fertilised but only 1 formed an embryo.
ET went great.
Trying to keep busy now.

Hi Eleni

I had a similar outcome at my ET on Sunday. 2 eggs did not divide and one started to divide then stopped so the remaining one was transferred even though it was not as good as they had hoped.

I have been really bloated today and feel absolutely exhausted.

Best of luck to you :fingerscrossed:

I'm off the get some sleep!!
