Has any one had trouble conceiving using the shettles method for trying to conceive a girl? :bfn:

We used the Shettles method to start off with in this pregnancy. Tried for 3 cycles and nothing. Then we switched to the O+12 method and got pregnant the first cycle, with a baby girl :)

I know 3 cycles isn't huge for most people, but as you can see from my signature, we're a pretty fertile couple lol. And i'm pretty sure my DS4 would have been concieved 'shettles' style, as i know we didn't DTD anywhere near ovulation (it would have been a good 4-5 days before at least i think). So i wasn't convinced on the Shettles theory anyway!

I have read on the ingender forums that trying to conceive a girl can take a while, because you are not DTD on ovulation. There are some women on there who have been trying for over a year.
Good Luck

We DTD every day leading up to Oing but for us it wasn't how much I didn't want a boy but how much DP wanted a girl. SO I wasn't going to lower my chance of getting PG to have a girl...I tried to get PG with a girl by giving the sperms the best chance however I still DTD on O day because if the girl sperms didn't make it I wasn't going to wait.

We got PG with a girl the first cycle.

I read that start by stopping 3 days before expected O and if that doesnt work go to 2 days before, not all sperm are strong enough to live long enough to last 3days, so 2 is often just as good.
It took us 8 months but we did get our girl so it was worth it.

Good luck.
