Hi,

My DS is *trying* to cut his molars. For the last 2 weeks he's been dribbly, snotty, chewing his hand raw and has had diarrhea once a day.

I guess my question is, how much diarrhea is too much diarrhea? Mostly it is just the one bad nappy a day, and the firmness changes - some not so bad, others very liquidy (sorry!). Some days though he might have 2 or 3 of these nappies.

I'm fairly confident it is *just* teeth. He is otherwise mostly happy, his temp is only slightly raised and flares up mostly in the afternoon and he is drinking/eating normally. But it's the length of time it's gone on for that is worrying me, as he will have a day of firm and I think it's over, and then the next day it's all gross again.

Is it time for the Dr? Or is it *just* teeth and we just have to ride it out?

Sounds like my bub. She is also cutting her molars. Some days she will do 4-5 runny discusting poos that burn her bottom, the other days she does nothing at all.
I think if bubs hadnt done a poo for over a week, then id be worried. If bubs had done so many poos in one day that would clasify as 'the runs' id be worried about that as well.

Yep, teething and molars can cause the yucky poos. I wouldn't be too worried, just make sure you keep fluids up and use a barrier cream. My DS1 would take a couple of months to get his molars through. I think DS2 is just about at the age to get his 1st ones, I am sooo looking forward to it .

A couple of months? Gawd! I hope they don't go on that long here!!

Thanks for the answers ladies. I've made a Dr's appt for Monday anyway as I'm starting to think the nose could be hayfever. DH has it bad at the moment as well.

I thought the poo situation had resolved, but yesterday it was back again. Poor little man. These teeth are just awful things!
