I know this is a highly hypothetical question... but I hate ambiguity!
I was wondering if anyone can throw me an idea?
I am a 28-year old, clean living (never drink/smoke), relatively healthy/active... How long should I be expected to wait after TTC?

Do you mean how long should you TTC before seeing a doctor if you are not falling pregnant?

If yes then generally speaking most say 12 months of trying before they will do much for anyone under 30. Over 30 I think they say 6 months.

Having said that, I went and saw my GP after about 9 months of TTC to get the ball rolling for tests and to get a referral for a Fertility Specialist. Glad I didn't wait until past the 12 month mark, as I am now at 15 months TTC and about to embark on IVF.

If you are concerned after months of trying, at least go and speak with your GP and get some basic blood tests done. You can also get your partner to have a sperm analysis done to rule him out. Then if you are still not satisfied ask for a referral to a specialist. Some GPs are quite understanding and will give you what you ask for, others not so much. I guess it all comes down to how long you want to wait and whether you are willing to push the issue with your GP or seek a second opinion.

Hope this helps. Good luck with TTC!
