View Full Version : Low Amniotic Fluid In Early second Trimester
Has anyone had low fluid in their pregnancy, and was told about it early on like at 14wks and the pregnancy continued fine? i've been told that i've got low fluid again at 14wks I had another scan at 16wks and my levels were 7.5, i'm going for another scan this thursday to see if its improving and to see what's up,:fingerscrossed: and touch wood it has inproved, this isn't the first time this has happened, my first pregnancy I was low in fluid but that was worse than this one and didn't have a good outcome, I know it can be normal to be low in fluid but that usually happens in the third trimester, i'm just after reasuance really, I dont' want to have to go down the same road i did 4 years ago with our first boy, If anyone can tell me about their possitive experiances that would be great, thanks

Yep I had low fluid throughout the pregnancy. My OBGYN monitored carefully with scans etc and considered inducing me at 37 weeks but all worked out fine.
Hey Cheeky, were you low in fluid early on in the pregnancy or just the last trimester, if you were can you remeber what your fluid level was, I know i'll be monitored closely like I was with DS2 but am just after details of fluid levels and if they raised and if they did how fast and how much, sorry for all the questions, and thanks for you reply

Will try and find my notes on it, but until then I do recall that I was monitored via my OBGYN who is a specialist. I was scanned each visit and monitored by him. The fluid remained low and thin in places throughout and he did consider inducing me at 37 weeks because of this. DD was considered small for date throughout the pregnancy (I didnt smoke so this was not a factor in the small for date theory) , but around 35 weeks ??? DD started her growth spurt and the fluids raised enough I presume to not warrant an induction. She was born 12 days early at 7pd 1 oz through a spontaneous labour..
Hi
It was over 5 years ago now and I was never given any specific numbers to indicate the fluid levels, but I can remember having many ultrasounds and being monitored closely throughout my pregnancy. They were a little surprised with my fluid levels as I had gestational diabetes (insulin dependent) and fluid levels are usually too high with that as I proved later with my ds by carrying 6 litres of excess fluid!
They attempted to induce me at 36.3 weeks due to having pre-eclampsia and I ended up having a c/section 5 days later giving birth to a beautiful, healthy and lively (apgars of 9 and 10!) 8lb 7oz little girl! She had no problems at all and didn't seem to have been impaired in any way due to low fluid levels.
She is a healthy, intelligent and happy 5 ½ year old now ... :yelclap:
