My bub has been having issues with her tummy for the last month or so I posted a thread

http://www.bubhub.com.au/community/forums/showthread.php?t=368909

and she was never the best sleeper to begin with but lately she's been screaming late at night as if she's in agony and the doctor seems to think she's developed colic but she's almost 7 months old, I thought colic was for young babies?

Have you tried taking bub to a chiropractor? Not sure if it would help but it seems like you have tried everything else so it can't hurt I suppose. Apparently some bubs get a bit out of alignment and that can cause problems such as wind and colic symptoms, if you find a chiro who has experience with babies they will be really gentle and may make a bit of a difference for you:hugs:

Colic can happen at any age, anyone with wind pain has colic.

Could also be reflux thats the Dr has passed of as colic.

Minties- You actually read my mind I was just reading some posts about chiropractors and am looking for one in my area that deals with babies

If anyone knows one around the Rockingham area in Perth please let me know.

TripleTime- She does have reflux and has been on Zantac since she was a week old. She definitely has wind pain but I've tried everything I could think of

It might just be taking a while for the new dose to kick in ...

I'd say it could be taking it's time to kick in. DS started on Zantac again last Friday & I'm still waiting for it to kick in.

It doesn't happen often but some kids to become amune to Zantac & it stops working for them no matter how big the dose is.

Thanks Tusmama and TripleTime we are just hanging in there for now, you'd think the Zantac would be working somewhat since she's been taking it from birth. I'm definitely going to try a chiropractor n hopefully :fingerscrossed: that'll give her relief!

It may have stopped working coz she's grown, which means it needs to kick in again ...

I've had great results with a Chiro, but then others, like tripletime, haven't.

Are you breastfeeding? You may want to cut down on dairy to see if that helps her symptoms. Reflux is often a symptom of intolerance.
Good luck!

You would think so, but after time kids can build up a resilience to it.

Tusmama - I am BF and have thought about the food thing in fact I asked the dr but was told it doesn't look like. I have started her on probiotics to see if it helps

TripleTime- Yes she might have here's hoping :fingerscrossed: it'll get better soon. She is sitting up by herself and from what I read reflux usually starts to get better around that time.

i would definitely try cutting out dairy, i was told that it wasnt affecting his reflux but after some research did an elimination diet and have had MASSIVE improvement from cutting out the dairy ...

he has also improved alot since he started sitting ...

:fingerscrossed: sitting helps!

Sitting was a big thing for J. He improved 10 fold when he started sitting, better again when he started to stand.

As they become more vertical their insides start working with gravity instead of against. The opening at the top of the stomach has weight on it & tends to stay close.

Thanks ladies, she has been sitting for the last month or so hopefully it'll get better soon.

Tusmama your baby constipated as well when he was having issues with the dairy in your diet?
