PUL!!! Help me find it!

Hi All,
Dont mind me but i just need to vent! :banghead:
I went into my local (Hobart) Spotlight today to try to get some PUL for my Pocket nappies but couldn't find any so i went up to the counter and after i waited for 20mins to get served i finally got to ask if they have any/what it is made of and told her what if was used for. She just looked at me and said "Na, people come in here asking for it all the time". And before i could ask her if they will be getting it on or not she had turned around and was serving someone else!!! :(
What makes me mad is: A: the fact that she let me go on with the whole speel if people come in asking for it all the time and B: why dont they bloody well get it in if people are always asking for it!!! :banghead:

Ok vent over....

Does anyone know where i can get it? I would prefer to buy it locally and not pay postage but i think i might be dreaming there.

hey :)

I do not know of anywhere in australia where you can get it .. other than off the internet... you can try Jodie at Nappiescovered?? she often sells Nappy kits.. so would probably be able to sell it per metre for you ..

just remember that printed pul is generally more expensive than plain .. (and there are different TYPES of pul too .. some better than others)

I would love to hear of any other hubbers who know where else to get it!!!

edited to add : oh and dont even get me STARTED on spotlight... they killed all the little material stores .. who WOULD have ordered in PUL etc for you if you needed it .. sigh

I had the same trouble looking for PUL!!
...and the people at Spotlight were soooo damn rude when I asked if they had any!! They looked at me as if I was a complete idiot!
I won't be going back to Spotlight any time soon, as thats the 3rd time in a row that I have been unsatisfied with their rude customer service.

But yeah, now that I've had my whinge... what Veve said... order some off the 'net!
There is usually some going on ebay, and another site that I notcied selling some funky rainbow coloured stuff was Bubba Earth.

Spotlight are shocking here too with all aspects of customer service. I don't go in there unless I'm a) desperate and b) have an hour to spare with no children with me at the time (like, never). :thumbsdown: :no:

I'd try the links section of www.ozclothnappies.org for nappy making suppliers. PUL is a pretty specialised fabric and most that I know of are made in the US. You could always try making fleece pockets ;) Good luck with your hunt.

If i won tattslotto i would start my own fabric store! Just to stick it right up spotlights butt! :yes:
I'd make it parent friendly! Have a Play area for kids! oh so many things! Plenty of parking! infact everything that spotlight is not!

Bubba Earth sell it for $8.00 per nappy square (55cm by 50 cm) or something like that.

I kind of feel sorry for the staff working at Spotlight and really I don't blame them for being so rude. All staff there were given new contracts under the IR Laws and that has got to suck.

what has that got to do with their attitude and manners? I've had problems with spotlight well before the new IR laws came in.

I tried Lincraft for PUL and there wasn't any there either :( I was thinking of going to Paddy's Fabric at Wacol/Goodna to see what they have, they are HUGE!

There is a place in NZ that sells it online but the postage must be twice as much as what you've ordered :gloomy:
I might have to get some US contacts!
You'd think with it being so popular and all that spotlight would get some in but nooooo, they dont want our business. :banghead:
