Hi was wondering if there was anyone who has had the same symptoms as me and the outcome?
Found out last Saturday I was pregnant and dating back to LMP had me between 5-6 weeks. Began to experience some brown spotting with no pain just enough to wear a panty liner. I was concerned that this did not stop so I went to the Dr on the Monday. My hcg levels were 500. On the Wednesday I took the test again and it was 1000. I continued to spot so I went and had another test on the Friday and my levels were 2000. It is now Sunday and I am booked in for an US on Wednesday afternoon. I have continued to spot brown lightly for the whole weekend. At one stage last Wednesday it was red (TMI) but is now back to brown. I actually feel fine, my breasts are a little tender but the spotting has not stopped. Should I be worried? As I mentioned before there is no pain at all if anything I feel a little gassy in the tummy but no cramping. I had an Implanon removed 3 months ago so was not used to experiencing breakthrough bleeding. Has this happened to anyone else before, it is making me very anxious?

Hi weasel,
I had 2 miscarriages in a row. The second being a missed miscarriage. The first sign of loosing bub was spotting.
So when I started spotting during this pregnancy I thought here we go again.
Well I spotted brown, red, brown, red on and off for 4 weeks!!
I had a scan at 6 weeks n there was a hb so cautiously
optimistic. Then at six n half on better machine they could see the implantation blood around the sac. Spotted up till bout 9 n half weeks and at 10 weeks there was no blood on scan and still happy lil bub.
It's quite common so try not to worry :)

Hi thanks so much for the reply. It has given me a little peace of mind. I am still lightly spotting brown (now been 8 days continuous) but as I said before absolutely no pain. I am off to the Dr on Wednesday for my US so I will keep you posted on the outcome!

I had spotting/ bleeding in my pregnancy, around the time that my period was due. As a result I didn't realise I was pregnant until I was about 17 weeks .
I was just having a read about it the other day, and apparently it happens in up to 18% of pregnancy's, without a problem. It did say it should be less bleeding than a normal period and not associated with any pain.
Hope all is going well still. :)

A bit of a mixed result. Went in for the ultrasound and they they measured the bub to be 5W 3d which meant I was totally out with my dates. As my period has been all over the place because of the removal of my implanon it is realistic that I got my dates incorrect. My only concern was that there was no heartbeat yet. Dr assured me this could be fine as heartbeat may not show until after 6 weeks. When I asked about the continuous spotting she said it could be due to bleeding around the sac and should not be cause for concern as everything on the scan looked fine. Anyway end result is I have to go back in a fortnight's time to detect a heartbeat. Spotting has eased somewhat which is a good sign. Has anyone else had a scan around this time and not detected a heartbeat????????
I can be of help here :)
According to my LMP I should have been approx 8 weeks preg, my bloods cam back with a level of 71ish indicating about 4 weeks preg.
From 5 weeks I started spotting, anything from bright red to brown, sometimes more sometimes less. I had a dating scan to see how far along I actually was. Scan showing 5w6d at this point and no HB yet which I was assured was ok. No fetal pole just the sac.
I continued to have my HCG monitored, levels going up great and and 7w2 days go back in for another scan and there is bubby heart beating away :goodvibes:
I am now almost 11 weeks and things are going good so far. Bleeding stopped just shy of 10 weeks. On the 7 week scan they actually found where the bleed was coming from and I was told it was safe for bubba and just from around the sac.
so good result here, if something has happend to bub (scan on monday) it wasn't due to the bleed I had IYKWIM.

This news is all very reassuring. Will definitely help me get through the next fortnight before the scan in a positive frame of mind. Thanks girls!

Same Same here
Heartbeat not at 5-6 weeks but the next week they detected one. They should have been able to see a sac at 5 weeks and that's it

Weasel I feel for u, it can b such a worrying time!
Wat I'd suggest, if ur anxious, is to have your hcg taken say tomorrow, and again Monday.. It can b very reassuring!
In fact the dr told me that my baby had no heart beat when I had a scan then trans vaginal at wat I thought was spot on 6 weeks for the spotting. ( I would have actually been 5 weeks 4 days)
The midwife came in with my hcg results which were high! So the dr looked harder and after quite some time found the flicker. U have to remember they are sooo tiny!!!!
Which is lucky because I had already decided while emptying my bladder for the vaginal u/s that I would have the misoprostal to induce the labour this time instead of waiting it out!

I also would have the ultrasound say next Friday.. That makes u six weeks 5 days, they should see hb by then :)

Hey weasel13,
How are you going now? I am 33wks and I bleed every 3-4wks until I was 24 weeks :-) Now I can understand how people don't 'know' they are pregs. But the funny thing is, I don't cycle, I got a period very 12-18mth, So the bleeding was scary.
I found out I was preg when I was 4wks, as I was so ill!! - lol - than had a bleed at 7weeks, 11weeks, 14week, 16weeks and last one at 24weeks. But my lil miss is coming along great :-)

Congrats hun!! You seem to have followed my exact story almost  I finnaly had my spotting stop completely at 10 weeks and am now almost 18 weeks. Again congrats and I hope you get to relax and enjoy the rest of your pregnancy!

Wow it's so nice to find other people who are going through, or have been through the the same thing with a positive result.
I am 7 weeks today and have had spotting/bleeds pretty much once a week since finding out. At 5 weeks 6 days after four days of spotting light pink/brown I had an ultrasound and they saw a 2mm bub and the beginnings of a heartbeat (just too small to measure). This weekend I had a major bleed of bright red blood. Had another ultrasound at the emergency department, was 6 weeks 4 days, and saw a 3mm bub and a heart rate of 137. They assured me that everything looks perfect, and now that a heartbeat has been detected there is a 90% chance of everything being ok.
So glad to hear your good news weasel! Wishing you a happy and healthy rest of your pregnancy!
Hi Danni  When I was going through all of this bleeding I kept thinking about you and what you had been through, and how wombie is doing so well :) It really helped me! :hugs:

I have had two miscarriages before I had our son...and always found that if the spotting was brown or a similar colour there was no evidence of danger unless it turned red like a fresh bleed. The doctors always said to me not to worry and stress, things will turn out how they turn out. Take it easy and try not to do too much...don't exert yourself and put your feet up and rest.
And with the third pregnancy I did that and everything turned out fine! So I guess the advice does work. I took it easy at work and told my boss that I needed shorter shifts or split shifts (which they thought was great!) and I got through the first few months without any trouble.

I am about 6 weeks and have had spotting every 2 to 3 days since last wednesday. I had a blood test saturday night the levels were 986. I hada repeat test on tuesday which was over 2000 which i am told is good. That put my mind at ease until wednesday night when i had more spotting it was only a little bit, but last night i had more it was only very light pink and not enough to need a pad or liner. I dont have a scan until tuesday. Reading te he posts it gives me some hope that things are fine and it is normal. I am trying very had to think positive but something deep down thinks that something is not right, not something i really want to have to deal with right before christmas. I never had any spotting with my two boys which is making me think it something bad.
I think the worse part of it all if something has gone wrong it the fact that i will have to tell my 3 year old that there is no baby in my tummy anymore and i dont know how he will take it. Although he is deadly serious that i have 2 baby girls in my tummy. He has a habit of telling us something is going to happen and then it does. Hopefully this time he is wrong, it would very nice but a big shock.

I'm glad I saw this thread. I went to the toilet at 4am today to find some pink on the paper after I wiped. When I went again at 6am is was light brown and after that it went away. Now (approx 10:30am) it has come back, brown and mucusy but it's only when I wipe, not free flowing and not red.
This thread has helped me relax. This is my first pg and I was very scared and thinking the worst. I have no pains or cramps and infact had an increase of symptoms today. My boobs grew over night and I'm starting to feel nauseaus on an empty stomach. After reading this thread I am able to keep positive.
I don't really want an u/s at this point as I am only 4 wks and 5 days so doubt they would be able to detect a heartbeat yet and that would only make me worry more! If it gets worse or I am still spotting tomorrow I think I will go to the doctors after work and ask for a bloodtest to see my HCG levels.
Thanks ladies and I'm so glad things turned out well for you Weasel!

Hi ladies just wanted to give you an update. Had my 12 week scan last week and everything going along well. Have not had any spotting since 7 weeks so thrilled with that. Just wanted to let those girls know that if you do experience spotting in early pregnancy the news is not all bad. Certainly get it checked out but don't stress your life away as more than likely will be ok! I am lucky not to have had any morning sickness so my compensation for that was the early spotting. Fingers crossed all gies smoothly. It us great to have a forum to share your thoughts as you can easily get very stressed out!

I have been wondering how you are going hun! So good to hear you have seen your little ones HB, but what a bugger about the bleeds. We have our scan tomorrow so hopefully we will have a gorgeous healthy bub and get to find the gender out as an added bonus! Had another bleed at 17 and a half weeks and it took the middies in the hospy 40 minutes to pick up HB with the doppler but it was certainly there. Then had managed to pass out in kmart at 18 weeks lol. Ahh the joys!
OP so glad to hear your bubba was all good at your 12 week scan. Best of luck with the rest of your journey!

Had my scan on tuesday, ended up having a internal coz they couldnt see much. bub was about 2mm which was to small for the computer to date (yay), the lady said it puts me at about 6 weeks, so i am still going of my dates which puts me due on the 15th august which is ds1 birthday. They couldnt see a reason for the spotting which is good. They also found a really strong heartbeat which i am told is good for being so early. had more spotting on thursday which i think is coz of the scan. Havent had ne thing since so i am hoping things are fine.
