at what point does a dependent's incoem affect c/link payments? we intend to declare all of ds's income to c/link but when we were waiting to see the manager of tinlids we overheard the woman who was seeing the manager inform the manager if the income was in cheque form it wouldnt affect her c/link pyaments or child support:confused: doesnt sound right to me.
coz i was thinking if you have to declare your partners it would also apply to a dependents if they are earning a income.

I am not sure what the levels are, but I do know that the form of payment makes no difference at all. cash, cheque, direct deposit - it's all income.

:thumbsup: i knew something wasnt tight when i overheard the mum say that it wouldnt affect her payments.
i looked on the c/link site and couldnt find anything about dependants income. i remember seeing something on the back of my Youth allowance form but it didnt really go into detail about it.

i dont really know... but my little sister is 15 and working part time and my parents still get there family tax.... her income doesnt effect that, until she begins working full time. but i dont know about actual payments though....

does your parents have to declare your sister's income?

My understanding is that a childs income only affects FTB entitlement if they earn over a certain amount (approx 12000 in 06/07) and they are 16 or older. I will have a look into it tomorrow and get back to you with anything else.:)

If the FTB child is aged…

Less than 5 years- there is NO restriction on the amount of income the child can have.

From 5 to less than 16 years, - if the child is a full-time student or in primary school there is NO restriction,
OR - if the child is NOT a full-time student, their ATI for the income year MUST be less than the cut-out amount.

From 16 year- their ATI for the income year MUST be less than the cut-out amount.

The child income limit for 2006/2007= $11548
ATI=Actual Taxable Income
