Ok might be a silly question

DH and I are sitting here and bub is sleeping in her cot and has been for about an hour now after her feed

We have just heard her 'fill' her nappy but she is still sleeping and it doesn't seem to bother her - should we wake her up to change her or just worry about it when she wakes up or seems bothered by it??

Btw she cracks a na na when getting changed so we do prior to a feed (she is feeding every 2 hours ish and is 4 days old

Sorry if it is a stupid question I just don't want to make her sit in it but I don't want to rile her up either

I'd leave it, depending on how much longer she will sleep?

I'd never leave my older bub in a pooey nappy cause he sleeps for 10 hours but my newborn I would cause I know she'll wake in an hour or less anyway...

I wouldn't leave an older baby sitting in a pooey nappy as it can cause nasty rash.

But.... with a young breastfed one I'd leave it till they wake up because the poo is usually pretty harmless at that age.

i leave DD if i here her fill her nappy in her sleep...she is 5 weeks old.

If she was sleeping long stints then i would change it....but she only sleeps 2 -3 hours max so i am happy to leave her.

I always had trouble trying to figure that one out! Especially when you take a while trying to settle them and then they fill the nappy and go straight to sleep.

I would never change my DD if she filled her nappy while asleep.
