As most of you know my baby was born on the 11th at 36weeks and he is in the local SCN.
DF and i would like to get the ladies in the special care nursery a gift to thank them for being so lovely, supportive and nurturing during his stay and while i was in ICU, birth suite and midwifery.
I know they are doing their jobs but they have been excellent and really celebrate with all Kobe's little milestones (his thermocosy bed being turned down and its going to be turned off in the morning and they made a certificate that says congratulations on gaining such and such amount of weight. When i was in icu for 5 days they organised photos to be taken of him and me and his 1st bath and made a little book for me out of them with.
So anyway what can we buy them as a gift of thank you? I am really lost! TIA

Most people working in health cant accept a gift personally, but if it is a gift to the whole lot of nurses- it shouldnt be a problem.
*Maybe an artwork to donate to the ward
*Big box of chocolates to be shared around/ bunch of flowers or a pot plant (if allowed)
*A photo of your little one along with a card letting them know ho much their work/support helped you.
* did you notice if they had lunch making facilities e.g sandwich grill
* A plaque saying they are awarded for best nurses in ICU etc
What about just bringing in a big box of chocolates or beautiful little cupcakes or something to put in their staffroom for them all to enjoy on their break.
Along with a card with a pic of your little family telling them how appreciative you are of what they have done

I'd go something edible and sharable (choccies, (cup)cake(s) etc) with a photo and note.

Yeah i know they cant accept personalised gifts, i wanted something for the neonatal, ICU and midwifery ward. The plague and card idea is great, definately doing it.

April you need to change your username! :p
To what:confused: might start a thread :D:p
as sandra pointed out, unfortunately nurses cannot accept monetary or $$ valued sort of gifts.
The types of gifts that I have seen on the wards is chocolates, cake, photos, card etc.
Had a patient that did a cake that said "Thanks," with a card, and photo. They get put up in the handover room. Quite lovely to see.
That would have been nice :)

Sounds like a plan.
