All the kids do swimming which they love so far, the girls will do calisthenics next year and I am thinking about putting Nathan into something too next year, he is 15 months now and turns 2 in July.

What things would be good for a child of his age? Or should I just wait until he's a bit older?

Thanks :)

My son (now 2) loves swimming.

We did a term when he was 6 months, and then started again at 18 months, and he loved it the second time.

How much does kindygym cost?

MsMummy, he already does swimming and he loves it. :)

My 23 month old does swimming and kindergym :) LOVES them both. Kindergym at the PCYC costs us $3 per child for one hour. I take DD and DS3 twice a week.

That's pretty cheap. $3 for one hour?

What ages does kindergym go to? I might look at getting Skye in maybe with Nathan or do they just do different age groups on different days?

Ours is up to school age - there are kids there from 1ish to 5 years :) It is great. DD who is nearly 4 LOVES it too. They will all be different though, some might have separate groups, just have a look around and make some phonecalls I guess.

We are in the country so things are a bit cheaper here but if you find one at a PCYC it wont be much.

Thanks for that.

Hmmm, things cost money so maybe I might consider waiting...I dunno.

What about a soccer/sports kickstart? They take them from 2 and teach them all sorts of skills for sports :)

Not sure where you are but this is one in Sydney: http://www.soccerkickstart.com.au/kickstart.html

If you have a PCYC nearby, it's worth giving them a call. I'd probably stick with swimming then look at playgroups or meets in the park at other times rather than organised activities. Although there might be something like a gym or craft activity at the PCYC. They are really good to get into, cheap too!

My 19m old does swimming and music and when we remember or able we go to the local libary once a week for nursery rymes and songs.
He loves music, they get to play with instruments, ribbons etc, and sing and dance around the place.

PCYC: Police Citizen Youth Club

They run all sorts of things for every age from newborn babies to the 60 and over club! They do sports, playgroups, bingo, craft activities, after school care, all sorts of things! Look them up in the White Pages!

I know you are asking about boys but my 20 month old DD does kindy gym and she loves it. Our lesson is $11 a lesson, goes for 45 minutes and is for up to 5 year olds. We do our lesson at a gymnastics school.

Thanks Zephani. $11 per lesson doesn't sound too bad (I guess I should have just said 'child' not boy as I am sure boys and girls can do the same things ;) )

What do they do there?
