I'm due to have a little boy at the end of November edd 23rd everyone keeps asking what I want for his Christmas present and I'm really stuck on ideas.. This is my first child so I've got no idea what you would buy a baby...

I don't want him to get to spoilt at Christmas with it being so close to his birthday but I do want to enjoy his first Christmas even though he won't play with any toys..

What do I buy him?? Help lol

My DD was born on the 17th of Nov last year. She pretty much slept through christmas lol. I just bough her some singlets and things she needed. We mostly got clothes from family members. And lots of Baby's First chrismas ornaments.

I seriously wouldnt spend to much because her will be tiny andnot remember and also you would have just spend so much on all the stuff you needed before he was born.

DD will but just over 1 for xmas this year and she is only getting a couple of books and a chair and table set. She will be more interested in the paper and boxes than whats inside them lol

You could open a bank account for him with the money you would otherwise spend on a pressie.

A mobile

You could ask others to buy classic childrens books like Winne the Pooh, Peter Rabbit, Snugglepot and CuddlePie.Or picutre book favorites in board books like Where is the Green Sheep, 10 Fingers and 10 Toes, The Very Hungry Catapiller, Brown Bear Brown Bear...

Its never too early to start collecting nice books and even at an early age he will enjoy looking at the pictures and hearing the rhyme of your voice as you read to him.

I agree BOOKS BOOKS and MORE BOOOOOOKS :yelclap:

DD was born 7 days before xmas and we went a tad nuts with toys and things but all for much later on (some of them were 12 months or 18 months plus stuff) as she won't have a birthday in in the middle of the year to help spread the pressies so she has age apropriate stuff when the time is right. We asked for friend and family to think ahead for toys and clothes too so she didn't have heaps of tiny summer stuff and no bigger winter stuff when it was needed.
This worked really well for us and we still do the same thing now (she'll be 4 in Dec) some things will be put away for a bit later on and thats great.
We also try to put a few of the toys etc away after the inital play with them on xmas day/boxing day so that she doesn't have everything out all at once and not really play with anything. So all her (and DS') are in little boxes and she gets one (or 2 or 3  we are working on this) thing out at a time and it goes away before the next thing comes out - working on that too. this keeps all the toys a bit fresh and helps keep her room from looking like a tornado went through it.
