when & how do we clean his doodle??

I have finally had my baby boy "Bailey" after 3 girls and was wondering as i have no idea, how and when do we start to clean his doodle?? :p

He is not circumsied and i know from his dad that uncircumsised boys need to pull the foreskin back and clean it. :eek:

Does anyone know at what age we are supposed to start this??

It will be a few years before you need to retract your son's foreskin to clean it.

While he is still a baby/toddler, you only need to clean what you can currently get to if you know what i mean. Just keep it clean using a sponge in the bath, as you would any other part of his body.

I'm not entirely confident on this one, but I will check, I think it is about 2-3 yrs old that the foreskin becomes able to be retracted.

i think you are right.

you don't try and pull the foreskin back any further then it will go. babies foreskins are not supposed to retract until later on and even then you don't force it - just clean what you can get to. it will retract naturally as they get older.

Never, ever ever retract your baby's foreskin to clean under it, you can cause damage and infection.
The child himself must be the only person who does this, and it happens very slowly, over time, as they begin to handle their own penis.
The foreskin can stay fused for years, and this is perfectly normal, just care for it as though you would a finger, no special care is necessary.
Of course, when it is retracting naturally, on its own, without being forced, your son will have to be taught how to clean it properly himself.

just a little note ,when my ds was born we where told to not to touch his forskin .
so we left it till he wasa bit older but then it still didnt roll back naturally so finally at the beging of this year when he was four and ahalf he discoverd his special cover!
now he cleans and looks after it all on his own :)
boys are alot of fun they love their mums !!!
