Is it possible? The research I have done suggests that it's possible but extremely difficult. Supply issues ....etc..... Does anyone know of anyone who has successfully BF after this type of surgery? All replies would be greatly appreciated.
Me! I breastfed my 19 month old and am currently breastfeeding my newborn quite successfully! I had the same concerns but all that dissipated when my milk came in with a vengeance!
Having said that, I don't think anyone can predict whether or not you can breastfeed, it depends on the surgery really. Hopefully you won't have any problems! The important thing is you keep an open mind whatever happens. All the best hun.:fingerscrossed:

I was actually going to post a similar thread a while ago!!
I have been wondering the same thing. I would love to have the surgery (much to DH's horror!! ) but have a few concerns - mainly scarring & the ability to BF.
I had heard in the past pretty much the same as you did - that it's difficult, but not altogether impossible.
After DD was born, I tried & tried to BF successfully, but was unable to continue due to multiple issues. One of the things that I felt really impeded our attempts was the fact that I had very large, extremely heavy breasts (add to this flat nipples & it makes BF a very awkward & difficult task!!) I did wonder before falling PG second time round if I could have the reduction surgery if things would be easier or more difficult next time.
I'll be keeping an eye on this thread!! Thanks for posting it! And thanks also to everyone who replies!
