Anyone who has used Nexium Hp7, I need some help pleeeease. :(
I was prescribed Nexium for a stomach ulcer, and my Dr checked with a ped about using it while bf (as she suggested going on formula for a week, but i'm not keen. I know where that's going to lead.. and both DS and I are enjoying bf still. I want him to wean himself.. and not because I'm forcing him too..).
Anyway, she left a msg on my phone saying to go pick up the script and that she spoke to a ped who said it was safe to use Nexium while bf, and that they even give it to babies sometimes. The Dr told me it was 1 tablet, once a day for a week.
I picked up my medication yesterday and it's a box of 3 different tablets.. and i'm supposed to take 4 tablets TWICE a day... very different to what I was told.
The pharmacist told me it was the script and my Dr probably didn't know about the box.. (why is she prescribing it is my question. she seems very carefully and thorough with everything else so far!)
The pharmacist also told me to go on formula... (pressure pressure) but said other than diarrohea, the baby should be ok.
Well i took the first round last night after dinner. I had a shocking night myself. Felt extreme nausea, vagueness, sweating... and bf DS 1am.
He seemed fine in the morning, I was feeling ordinary, but better than i did thru the night.
He suddenly began screaming about an hour ago. I went to change his nappy, and saw blood in his nappy.. which was enough to make me go nuts for a brief moment.
He did have the runs (sorry.. TMI..) but his bottom actually has a cut along the crack, further up his bottom. After i cleaned him and fed him cereal, he seemed to settle down, but i am not keen on taking the meds anymore.
Has anyone had any experience with taking this medication while bf?
What was the effect on your baby?
and did you have any side effects?
I'm hoping somene will come by and stay with DD so I can take DS and go back to my GP.. in the meantime... :confused:
