For what it'sworth I have had moderate to nasty eczema since I was 6 weeks old (over 30 years now!) and have tried everything on the market. I get very cross when people/companies try to profit from this condition; just look at the number of fancy products on the market. They may work for you - but I have never had any success other than with the following(boring as it is). Identify irritants. Easier said than done, I know. My main trigger is stress as well as hairy animals like cats, dogs, horses etc. Once trigger has been activated secondary sources (in my case dairy products) can aggravate the condition but these alone do not cause an outbreak for me. One also has to manage the skin condition through lots of moisturiser (again, having tried everything under the sun good old sorbalene from the chemist is the best) this is dull and inwinter is cold, but it's essential ifyour skin is dry. Also find a good steroid cream such as elocon prescribed by your GP to deal with a flare-up. (I tried the new non-steroid cream Elidel - but that did not work for me.) I also find my skin gets used to a cream after a while - so it's good to swap around now and then. It's a management thing, rather than a 'miracle' cure. When it was at it's very worst, I had success getting rid of it with chinese medicine through a wholistic practitioner - but find a good one. the potion was dreadful - but it worked for a major ongoing flare I could not get rid of. I wanted to avoid my daughter getting the condition so I exclusively breastfed for 6mths and breastfed to 12mths and avoided allergenic foods until she was 12mths. I also took fish oil tablets while pregnant and breastfeeding. Sorry for the long reply, but it's a topic I'm passionate about! Hope my experiences might help someone. :o It's not a life threatening condition, but it can be so distressing...
mmm taniamackie, seems a bit suss that your one and only post is advertising a product

Hi,
I am a vet nurse and also suffer from a hereditary form of eczma, the problem with skin conditions in humans and in animals is what may work for one person may not work for another, I have had a lot of advice over the years on wonder creams ect, I have the problem where sometrhing will work for a while and then stops working so I ahve to chop and change what I use, my skin has been the owrst ever since i got pregnant but it will be worth it at the end. I am not going to offer a miracle cure all i can say is try different things for some people it is stress that sets it off, some people it is dairy foods etc none of these things are wrong they just don't apply to everyone and you may never get rid of it, you may just learn how to manage it. People that recommend products often do believe in them and have had success with family or friends, it does'nt necessarily mean they are trying to make money out of your misery.
