Hello all
Just wondering if anyone knows how long food has to stay in your stomach for you to get at least some nutrition out of it?
...it's probably a really stupid question but I'm thinking that if I can keep food down for at least an hour before I have to vomit then at least some of the goodness is absorbed?
Some meals I can keep down but some others are back up within 1-2 hours...
:barf:
:gloomy:
oh you poor little thing.
I think your theory sounds fair enough
Bubby gets served first anyway and doesn't need much.
I'm not a doctor mind you but don't forget that some people actually lose weight due to morning sickness and their babies are fine.

I couldnt keep anything down pretty much as soon as i either started eating i was bringing it back up or as i was taking the last bite i was. I was the extreme though i had hyperemesis
I lost around 20kgs all up vomitted through my labour & all but still managed a baby just off 10lb & 57cms long so trust me when i say they get what they need from you its just your body that suffers unfortunately
What makes it worse is that ive found out apparently when you suffer from hyperemesis if can mean a lower weight in the baby so i really dread to think was DS's size would have been like without it

Don't worry allyoo I didn't have hypernemesis with DD and she was 3.1kg but with DS I did have hypernemesis and he was 4.1kg.
starstar - as the others have all said the baby will take nutriants from your stores if need be. I was unable to keep down anything including water and I still managed to have a healthy 4.1kg 56cm baby.

I have had that lately too and i'm 17 weeks. I have spent more time on or near my royal throne this whole pregnancy that I'm thinking of drawing a smiley face on it. It currently has big *** sunflowers on it

Thanks Allyou, Shed, Rell, Jade, Alleycat! Good to know that despite the horror of constant vomiting that the little one doesn't necessarily suffer - just me, yay (?!!!).
Allyou, that's a damn big baby you had despite the sickness!!! wow:smiliedance:
