Hi all,

I've heard about midwife but never actually told to have one? This is my first baby and many friends mentioned about midwife, but so far I only seeing the Obstetrician and she didn't mention anything about midwife?

I'm going to Sunnybank Private, and this OB is recommended by my GP and she is not based in the hospital but have her own clinic across the road.

Can anyone tell me about midwife? where can I find them? am I supposed to appoint a midwife for my labour??

I didn't see a midwife during my pregnancy, I just saw my OB for everything. You may have a booking in appointment with a middie at the hospital later in your pregnancy. If you want to see a midwife you may be able to see one at the hospital - just call maternity, or you could see and Independent midwife, but your OB is obviously planning on leading your care. Unfortunately, you most often do not have midwife led care in a private hospital (which I assume you are going to because you have an OB)
