Has anyone had any sucess with Gluten free playdough?
I made some the other day, but with gluten free flour it turnt out very rubbery and was hard to mould, roll etc?
Should I add some xantham (sp?) gum or something else?

This is a recipe I had, have not tried it though as Gluten turned out not to be our problem...
1 cup of rice, coconut or other fine flour
1/4 cup of salt (makes the dough unpalatable)
1 tsp. Cream of Tartar
1 Tbs. sunflower oil
1 cup water
Mix the flour, salt and Cream of Tartar in a saucepan.
Add the oil and gradually blend in the water and food coloring, if using.
Cook over moderate heat, stirring, until mixture is stiff and leaves the sides of the pan clean.
Set aside until cool enough to handle, then knead gently on a work surface until smooth.
Store in an airtight container.
If this one is no good, I should be able to get my hands on another one for you :)
there is a new product called moon dough
http://www.moondough.com/

Did your playdough work out ok? I use a rice flour playdough recipe that turns out pretty good. I can post the recipe if you wanna try it...
