Surely you don't HAVE to terminate if you don't want to. They can't make you (unless your health is at risk?). I have heard of women who have carried their baby to term, knowing that the baby could not survive. I'm not sure whether I could do it, but for them it was the best thing, the one last thing they could do for their baby was to carry them for as long as nature intended.

I think you do have some options, does the hospital have a counsellor that you can discuss that with before you head in for surgery?

I am so sorry that you have had this terrible news and this terrible loss. Please know that you have my very deepest sympathy.

I'm so sorry you are going through this.

DD's god-mother's mother had the same decision to make. She continued the pregnancy. I think whichever way you go is going to have emotional consequences. It's just up to you which decision you make.

Her reasoning was that as a mother, it's her job to keep her baby safe as much as humanly possible.

Another friend terminated. She could not bare the thought of going through pregnancy, watching the baby grow, feeling the baby kick, only to be planning a funeral during the pregnancy :(

This must be such a hard thing for you to be going through. I've not had a medically necessary termination, but I lost a bub at 17 weeks. It is perfectly natural to grieve for a life that could have been, and as xkwzit said, you may have the option of carrying until bub passes, if that is a choice you want to make.

Deepest sympathies :hugs:

i am so sorry that you have to go through this!!!

i think you are making the right decision, and the hardest one any mother will ever face.
stay strong!

may your little one forever be in your hearts! and by your when you meet in heaven.

i dont know what else to say except to give you lots and hugs!!!!!!!

maybe you could have a memorial service for the little one? It might help give you some closure.
