I'm 38+2 weeks pregnant. I've had the runs for 10 days now. Friday and Saturday I've had a lot of irregular contractions and not as many toilet trips. Baby hasn't moved as much as normal either.

Last night I was in that much pain with tightenings/contractions nothing was helping. As they were irregular and it was 3am I didn't want to call the hospital.

This morning since I've woken I've gone to the toilet 3 times and my stomach is churning (DF commented on how loud it was). Tightenings/contractions are there still but mild compared to last night. Baby has moved a bit but only when I've been rubbing my belly from the pain.

Should I call the hospital and go into the assessment unit? I dont want to go in and be told it's nothing but it doesn't seem like nothing to me.

Or have you had anything similar at this stage in pregnancy and was in normal?

It cant hurt to call the hospy and see what they have to say. It could be nothing it could be the real deal.

My contractions we never regular. Even when I was pushing I would have 1 contraction then have a 1 min gap then another contraction then another 2 min till next contraction. When I went to the hospital they were between 4 and 6 min apart

What about having had the runs for 10days?

With dd my contractions were irregular, that's why they told me they were Braxton hicks (at 29weeks). So I don't know what to expect. But the ones i had last night felt like the real deal but now it's almost down to nothing.

I had the runs for about a week before DD was born including while I was labouring.

It could just be pre labour but still its worth getting checked out to put your mind at ease

i would atleast call the hospy or make the trip even if it's just to put your mind at ease especially since you have had the runs for 10days good luck

Thanks.

I just feel bad for calling the assessment unit. I know they are there for pregnant women etc but I can't help but feel like I am a burden on them when I call.

I saw my ob on Wednesday and told him about the runs he didn't even acknowledge I said it. They were 2 hours behind and rushed the appointment.
