A friend coming over from the states has told me that they had a pram (like the bugaboo) that they could take from the pram frame and use as the capsule/car seat. I would love to find out more about this but cant seem to find this type of system listed in any websites about car seats. Does anyone know if we can use this system here in Aus? I am looking at a pram that has this option if you buy the compatible adaptor but I suspect we cant use this?

Fisher- Price also does a travel system too now and also has the option of a stroller or 3 wheeler pram.

Hi
check out this thread about travel systems from a while ago. It might give you some ideas of travel systems available in Australia.

good luck

Thanks gidgeroo had a look through the thread. I guess this system is not that popular in Aus. What does everyone do with their newborns if they are sleeping in the car... do you just move them and hope they dont wake up? Getting in and out of the car seems like such an epic!

have you tried the mountain buggy they have what they call a car seat clip and you can easily pop the evenflo discovery car seats into them straight from car to the shops you just take the pram canvas off and use the frame and then when they grow out of the carseat you can pop frame back on it means you still have an all terrain type pram with this attachment it does take other portable car seats too you would have to check out the website www.mountainbuggy.com (http://www.mountainbuggy.com) quite informative the other option is what they call snap and go wheels which are similar but they are made just to transport the capsules you might have to google that one.goodluck

Safe and Sound do have a travel sytem that has the capsule tht fits into the pram.
I have a regular capsule and if I really don't want to disturb Mackenzie i carry her in it, or stick it in a shopping trolley.

A freind has the safe'n'sound unity capsule & pram. She loves it. Baby #4 ahs to put up with a heap of interruptions of louder older kids & work sleeps in around their school & sports, so it's perfect for her. The hood cover on the pram even meets up with the capsule to provide a little cocoon for the bub, so when you are out shopping you don't get everyone sticking their heads into the pram disturbing bub!

Be innovative!
I discovered not long after the birth of DD that her hired safe n sound capsule fits super-snug, safely and securely in my Jeep pram when the food tray/steering wheel attachement is one (it's the three-wheeled jogger one). No wobbles, it could face foward or backward, the hood comes up over the capsule to shade her and let her sleep and then when I got back to the car I just lifted it out and clipped it back in. Fantastic!!!!

My instruction booklet says that it is the Jeep Urban-Terrain 3 wheel stroller.
I brought it 2.5 years ago for about $420. Well, my husband did- it has cup holders for his beer, parent compartment and a noisy steering wheel complete with horn and other toys that clip on the child's meal tray- what else did he need to look for in a pram?? :D
