Hi all :) everyone keeps telling me my 14 week DD is teething....she has been extremely irritable, chomping hers and our hands, runny poos and dribbling like crazy....but when I think of teething I think red cheeks which she doesn't have....any teethers not get red cheeks? I really think she is too young to teeth but I don't know what else it could be?

I don't now whether she is too young or not, as someone I know is trying to convince me their 3 week old is teething
But as for the other question, my DS never got red cheeks at all when he was teething.
The teeth maybe moving around but not breaking through.
My DS3 has just today cut his first tooth and his cheeks aren't the slightest bit red. He does have an amber teething necklace on though so dont know if that's made a difference.

It is possible she is teething but her behaviour is also consistent with development.
My dd1 never got red cheeks when teething.
My dd2 is 10 weeks and has had a tooth sitting just above the gum that I can feel since 4 weeks. I didn't even know she had been cutting a tooth til she bit down on my finger and I felt sharpness.

It is possiblt that she's teething, some bubs are born with teeth & some start teething from 6 weeks.
As for red cheeks, both my girls cheeks become that red they look like a 3rd degree burn, eczema starts with cracked & weeping cheeks. DS gets nothing, not a thing.

DD wears an amber necklace so never had drooling issues or red cheeks. I agree that some of those symptoms are developmental like the hands in mouth but together they seem to paint a teething picture. My friends bub cut his first at 18 weeks and was teething very badly from 12 so it's not impossible.

Neither of mine had red cheeks when teething - or any symptoms as such really - drool and wanting to chew was about it.

Hi there, I think my 9 week old is teething also - same symptoms as your bub but she gets one red cheek every now and then - hands in the mouth - dribbling - fussy and a bit off in general - this has been going on for the last 4 days so I dont think its a growth spurt. I have felt her gums and think she is cutting a tooth which is not one of her front teeth! Although I can see the little teeth in her gums in the front!
Tell us if the tooth comes through!
Hi Princessmum
My girl has not yet had red cheeks and she has 4 teeth with 2 more on the way.
I ended up not using the amber teething necklace as it wasnt a magnetic one and I worried about her choking, so its just her. I guess all babies dont follow the text books :D
Good luck, I hope her teeth dont cause her too much pain.

DD never got red cheeks here when teething. She didn't even get swollen gums really, just one day the little tooth poked on out! She started teething around 3 months but didn't get her first tooth until 7 months so it may just be teeth moving around. Though, my sister had a tooth at 6 weeks old, all babies are different.
