I have taken DD to the toilet about 30 times today (no joke). She cries out Yuk and holds herself. She has only done one poo and one wee. Im going crazy. I have been TT for 2 days fulltime and yesterday was the same.
So when do the false starts stop?
PLease tell me they do:yes:

What you just said, i'm in the exact same reality :hair:
I'm hoping since you are in the future now, you can tell me the answer??!? hehehe
I'm only day 3 of TT and just feel like DD is not making any progress. Each time she asks to go potty nothing ever happens, and it's only lunchtime and we've had 30 false starts as you called them!

Just wondering whether there have been any wee's or poo's in the toilet at all? In my experience (limited - only toilet trained one child so far!!) they need to actually see/feel what it is like to wee in the appropriate place. I used a combination of timed toileting in the very early days so that DD had some experience and knew what was expected and just letting her go so that when she did wee in her pants, she got to feel what that was like and eventually recognise the urge to go which after a day or so translated to her telling me before she did it! I actually found that wetting her pants was an important part of this.
We actually put her on the toilet as soon as she woke in the morning cos a wee was guaranteed at that time of day and obviously made a big deal out of it, then the rest of the day ( unless we were going out, in which case she was taken to the toilet again) she just wore knickers. She did pretty much every wee for the first day in her pants and didn't realise she was doing it until it was too late. By the 2nd day, she told me either just before or just as she was doing it, and by the 3rd day she was pretty much telling me before hand with only the odd accident after that.
Be patient and just perservere - it is well worth all the cleaning!!
