Hi there,

I have an appointment with Dr Richard Cleghorn for my DD who is almost 5 mths old and has very bad reflux and (I think) cows milk protein intolerance and maybe something else..

Has anyone been to him and do you ahve any advice for me? What should I expect?

When I rang to get the appt, the receptionist almost fobbed me off and said that i should just ask my paed to change her medication and that should solve the problem.

So, I want to know what he is like so that i can be prepared with a plan of attack on how to treat my DD.

Is he supportive of breastfeeding or will he suggest I wean onto specialist formula?

I would be grateful for any info at all.

thanks

Dr Geoffrey Cleghorn?
For us it was a very quick 10-15 minute consultation ( thank god we've reached our medicare threshold! ) to get him up to speed on where we are at with our LO's reflux and medication. In our case we are trying out a new medication so there wasn't much he could do for us on that day but we did discuss CMPI and how and when we would go down that path if necessary.
He is a human encyclopaedia so make a list of everything to need to ask/know so you don't forget on the day.
He is warm but not the sugar-coating kind of Dr, I did at one point get the feeling that time was money but with his qualifications I guess it is!
I'm happy for you to PM me if you have any other questions. Good luck :)
