Check with the airlines, but I think minimum age is about 1 month. We are also due in Jan and have already planned an overseas holiday in April. Travelling when they are younger is so much easier because you don't have to worry about packing solids, keeping them entertained etc. All they do at that age is drink milk and sleep.

If you can breastfeed, it makes the trip so much easier than having to worry about bringing bottles and having them warmed up during the flight. Whichever way you go, just make sure you feed on takeoff and at the start of descent (eg. when the seatbelt lights go back on) to help with ear pressure. The cabin pressure and hum of the engines will probably lull bub to sleep without you needing to do much :) Have a great trip!
