Pls, Mrs P, Lissy loo, McSHad and all the other girls.

Thank you so much for your support, I will stop reading those stories, they are horrible while you are pregnant.

On a brighter note, I went to target, big w and kmart and bought 2 casual sleeveless tops maternity. $12 each bargin i reckon.

finding it hard to find work tops though.

Still have 8 weeks of work to go.

Don't want to pay $40 for a work shirt i will never use again after 8 weeks

Mrs P
27-09-2010, 12:20
Angela I'm the same. I've just got bigger shirts and they are stretching.

I've got 12 weeks left of work!! When you all finishing. My friend finishes 3 weeks before she is induced

Pls what a pain about the groceries. Pls glad the cramps stopped. I always put cramps down to pooing lol

27-09-2010, 12:38
Angela- good scor eon the shirts, im still yet to get more singlets for every day wear, only have 1 loose one & im stretching into my other normal ones but finding there very hot being fitting.Fully undertand why you dont want to spend $40- on a shirt that you wont wear after 8wks time. Can you dress up casual style tshirts.. surely they'll understand & give you a bit of lee-way there being pregnant & all too.

MrsP- 12 weeks will fly by dont worry... we'll all get ya through lol

 I did too much earlier, cleaned the kitchen, was almost gonna clean the bathroom/toilet but ended up downstairs ,took out the rubbish, gathered & broke up all the palm leaves placed them in the bins & swept all down there ,then the pool area, fixed kreepy then brought in washing & went to hang out the current load & ended up hitting the deck/faint.Well have hurt my 3 toes in the process, so cant walk on left foot & dh gonna rouse on me for sure...... I felt fine & then something flicked the switch & i short circuited (again) so sick of not being able to do things.... stresses me looking at it all. Time to call in a cleaner i think...just makes me feel even more lazy but would rather succumb then have these bubbas early or pass out fully & injure myself or them.Am now resting back on lounge:yes: but need lunch  Knees are sore from crawling up the back stairs was far too faint to stand up:laughing:

Pls - :shame: thats it, your bared from doing anything for the rest of the day. Stay on the couch except for toilet and food.

Mrs P - im putting in my leaving date 1 week before im due. Working for local government, we have to give a letter of confinement (pregnancy) at least 10 wks b4 due date, then 4 wks before due date we need to tell them what date were taking maternity leave. This way if I give them the maternity leave date 1 week b4 bubs is due and Ob says i have to leave lets say 6 weeks before its due i can go on sick leave full pay until my nominated date of maternity leave. I know im rorting the system but i have 15 + weeks sick leave and get another 3 weeks this week. And I still get the full 12 months maternity leave:D

plsjust1more
27-09-2010, 14:44
Mcshad- yes mum... have had a nap,dh rang to check on me & i told him..... "ohhh bub told ya to leave it...." Its frustrating when i feel fine. Your not rorting the system just using it to your advantage & i say go for it, if the shoe was on the other foot they would.Might as well use some of that sick leave.

Well dh was light on me cause hes p$ssed our so called boarder has come home sick (again) hes just not keeping upto the work hes meant to be doing. Its time to leave ..... Gary please pack your bags & leave the building immediately  I wish but its gonna happen after we pay him on friday or sat im hoping.

hi all...

Last day off today....I so do not want to go back to work tomorrow....so tired and my feet and hands are aching. I wore supporting socks last night due to the swelling in my feet and it work ok but today underneath my feet is agonizing pain...could hardly walk.......
...so today I am really wondering how on earth I will be able to work up to the new year????????
It feels impossible...sigh....

How long will you other ladies work up until?

Mcshade ...good for you i recon...I would do that too if i could:D

PLs - how long before you get your car fixed?

plsjust1more
27-09-2010, 17:09
Sweede- hope you enjoyed your last day.... your poor feet n hands, mine swell too but not as bad as what yours are im guessing but i have still had to take all my jewellery off (rings) & they were loose already cause up here you naturally swell in the heat so i had them made bigger.Does your job involve moving round or sitting still cause if your moving it should help it a little to keep on the move possibly? Hope you survive returning to work.Im very glad i dont work cause i'd be sacked from too many days off by now,im really struggling with this pregnancy. My cars going in for the brakes & the safety cert on thursday so depending on whether he takes all day with it or not it should be re-registered friday im guessing.Cant wait.

Well looks like another night at home alone for me,well with the boarder whos about to get his ear chewed off by hubby cause he made us think he went to work today for a few hrs & didnt even show up grrrr so its gonna be leftovers for me for tea,im not cooking for him & then hit bed at 7:30pm so im not stuck talking to him.Had a little emotional break down when dh told me... after i got off the phone of course.Mixed emotions, hormones & just down right missing my DH,hate being left at home with someone i dont know either. Oh well suppose i'll chat all night with emma on FB

micca
27-09-2010, 19:27
plsjust... you are as bad as I am with doing too much... sigh... I know that its easy to do when you are feeling good... Maybe a nice couch day tomorrow...
lets hope that your mate wally w@nker is at work tomorrow... what a total prick.. so he hates women, knows everything, is a sookie la la and hates working... ooooh yeah..that sounds like the gene pool of single men I have to select from....lol..
Hope you have a nice night in bed

Swedee... oooh you are really having a hard time with all the swelling.. certainly moving around helps a lot...
I hope it settles a little in the days to come...

Mcshad... good on you... you have earned those sick days and maternity leave by working your butt off and never being sick while everyone else takes sick days... Im like you Ive had 1/2 day sick day in 2 years..lol..
dont feel guilty you earned every penny of that sick and maternity leave...
Got to love government jobs..sure beats my no work no pay one...

MrsP..woohoo.. for finishing work in 12 weeks...thats got to make you feel good

Angela... great buy at target... Im in the same delima re work tops.. all my summer shirts are cotton and fitted so no chance of stretching that over a bump... Im hoping that I can find some cheap ones in NZ.
Have you looked on ebay???

Lissy.. glad that you enjoyed your walk.... you must be getting excited about the nursery furniture...woohoo... how exciting for you...

well another day at work done and dusted... Im so tired..finished at 6pm and then had to go to the supermarket for food... p1ssed off as there was nothing left.. no veges, lettace, bread.. this is our major town supermarket sigh... will have to go back weds...I did manage to pick up some chocy snacks for my 12hr shifts... I usually dont end up eating them and they just float around in the bottom of my bag..but sometimes they sneak into my mouth at night with a cuppa....lol..lol...

Work..hmmmmmm.......Im planning to work as long as I can... my goal is 39weeks... sigh.. its that entire single income no maternity or holiday pay. But at least I have the christmas/new year break off which will help with re-energising as I usually work over the break.
I hope I can make it. I had a discussion with my manager today and she is lovely and helpful and has got everything organised to work if I can, ok if I cant. I think because she had twins she is much more sympathetic.. my boss on the other hand is pretending Im not pregnant..lol..lol.. because he does not want me to stop work or cut my hours down.

I was lazy for dinner tonight. I had a little bit of left over beef stirfry left and ended up making it a sandwich..lol...
I feel a bit sick now... think my portions are too big for my tummy now.. planning to eat smaller meals with snacks this week....

time to kick back with TV.. watch the new series The Event...

So what is everyone doing about bottles and things,

I want to see if my boobs work, but don;t want to get stuck without any bottles and a steriliser,
So any ideas on what brand etc?

Mrs P
27-09-2010, 20:31
I watched that doco a while ago, very interesting!

As for bottles I haven't even thought about it, I have a steriliser I bought with the points on our credit card we had to spend when we closed the account down, I think there are some bottles in there as well.

I am hoping my boobs work if they don't it won't be too hard to get bottles. Anything BPA free I guess, I don't really know!

gottabecrazy
27-09-2010, 20:59
Dr Brown are good and they are BPA free and also have the thing in the middle to reduce colic (recommended to me by lots of other mothers) or go glass if you can spend the extra money on them they are expensive

McShad - Thats the way to do it, I would be persuaduing the Dr that you need bed rest

Pls - Get rid off him what a pain!

Sweedie - I work from home luckily enough so I intend on telling all my clients that I am pregnant and when I am due but I will have my mum here and I have a really good employee so I dont think Ill even close my business which is good!

Angel - I have brought a sterliser and also a coupld of bottles as I intend on Brest feeding but I wont hesitate to express and give it to hubby if I need a break I think it will help him bond with bubs as well!

Emma - How are the girls going you must be getting excited now!

Forever - No word from you for awhile I hope all is okay how did the amnio go?

AFM - Just loving the pregnancy bubs moves around so much its amazing to feel! Hanging out for scan next week (Tuesday) so I can see the flavour!!!

Morning lovely preggo ladies,

Pls - sorry you had to spend the night at home with a lazy SOB. Hopefully DH got home early to surprise you.

Sweede - boo, you have to go back to work today, it would be nice to have lots of time off but i guess we need to make the money somehow.

micca - i do have some sick days but not too many, this year i had 2 weeks off when i lost the twins, it took that and longer for me to understand and accept the loss.

emma - oooh, I think i have seen those bottles there the ones with the straw like thingy in the middle. I may have to invest in them as DS13 had colic, and boy o it can get bad. :smiliedance:the girls will be home with mummy and daddy soon. :highfive:. You will have to have your own little baby party with just the girls mum and dad.

Petals - Thats exactly what i think i will be doing. I dont really want to work after xmas so may have to throw in the soo tired and exhausted lines, or just ask him, my Ob is wonderful, we have been through a lot together in the last couple of years, i even have his mobile number:laughing: silly man.

I have a steriliser with bottles my SIL bought it for me, so have 3-4 on standby. I going to give it my best shot at brest feeding, it took 3 days for my milk to come in with the boys and by that time they were on the bottle. This time my (.)(.)s are huge and i think maybe i will get the milk alot earlier :fingerscrossed:. Plus the hospital encourages new mums to go to the nursery to feed so the midwives can help with brest feeding techniques, they are there day and night. Scan day tomorrow, bit nervous but also cant wait to see choochie again.

Morning lovelies,
getting in before BH shuts down for 1 hr at 9am.Wow another thread chatty bunch we are.

Im going to get a microwave steriliser & about 4 bottles (2 each) & formula just to be prepared for the in-case.... I like the Avent ones & my sis has them & loves them, she said DONT buy the cheapies there a waste of money & always leak, or too slow or give heaps of wind. Will have to look into the ones emma suggested.Im not going glass we have granite benches & hate playing with glass items on them.Broken alot of things on them with just a simple drop so not going there.

Easy day for me,although we had alot of trouble with our so called boarder last night so DH is in the process as i type this of moving him out & on....Im hiding out in the bedroom  will explain a bit later on after all is said & done & hes gone.Hopefully he's packing now... & not any of our things LOL  Dh had to come home from work early & copped alot of sh$t this morning (ph started at ringing at 5am)cause job wasnt finished & they wanted to be hanging clothes this morning but after explaining our situ they let him off. He's going back into work after d/head leaves...

Morning girls,

Pls - I hope that so called worker leaves today so you can get your house back.

Mcshad - 1 more sleep until scan YAY

re the bottle discussion, I might buy a steriliser and a couple of bottles but won't go overboard. I am very fussy with what kind of plastic i use so will be looking for BPA free and prepared to pay for good quality. I won't be bothering with a pump until after the birth though. My friend hired one for a week and she hasn't needed it after that as she gets into a routine with her breastfeeding.

Micca - I have seen that doco as i am sure it's been on before, very amusing

Swede - At this stage i will be working up until 7 weeks before EDD but if i am feeling well enough then i will more than likely have my contract extended until Christmas which will be 4 weeks before. My Manager has also asked me if i would do some part time work from home 2 days a week from around March for approx 2 months so i'll see how i'm coping with bubs but could be a good option to get a little bit of extra $$ coming in.

Thread 6 already  we are doing well girls. I'm fairly busy at work at the moment so might not post as often during the day, we'll see how long i can last without posting:p

Plsjust - hey there buddy :) The dizzies went away a while ago thank god, ive been good except my ovaries are still sore and very hyperstimulated. They measured in at 6.5cm when i saw my Ob on friday
He suggested i stop Elevit because of the high iron levels and is testing me for that iron genetic disease, hope i dont have it. Has told me to stay on the vit d as im deficient and also on folate.
I might get them to re check my iron in a couple of months or so to see if its come down.
I havent had one tiny bit of morning sickness! I only feel off if im hungry but when i eat something it goes. My DH is amazed! But i figure i got ohss pretty bad and ovary problems to make up for it
Oww about you hitting the deck! Did you land on your knees? Did your tummy hurt after? Its amazing how resilient bubs can be - did you see on tv a while ago that sky diver who landed on the ground hard and was in intensive care only to find out she was in the early stages of pregnancy at the time! Bubs was born healthy :)
Amazing really!

Hi Ladies. I have been MIA trying to arrange this trip to Houston next week. Looks like DH is off on Sat and I will follow on Wednesday next week (cheaper to fly mid week.) We have 3 weeks in Houston then we hare having 2 weeks of travelling. just found out that my sister and her DH are going to meet us in Vegas for a weekend!!!! Yay. They live in Canada and haven't seen them in a few months so will be awesome.
Bub is doing well. Can't feel any movement yet but I listen to the HB on the Dopler most days. It will be so cool to take it with me on the trip. Very reassuring.
Did you guys know that if your conception was medically assisted then travel insurance costs more? Crazy!!!!!

Pls - Glad you are getting rid of the Border. You need to relax and not be in a stressfull enironment.

Micca - I have been thinking about you and how you said you won't get any maternity leave. You would definately qualify for the new government maternity scheme. You just have to work 330 hours in 10 months prior to the birth and have no more than an 8 week break. I think you will definately qualify. You should look into it. It is worth about $500 for 18 weeks.

Sorry for not many personals but I have to read too far back!!! Take it easy ladies.

Jane- ohh getting close for your lovely holiday.Thats ridicoulos having to pay more, they'll get more $$ anyway they can try hey.Enjoy it & dont forget who we all are

Hey if anyone gets to the target sale & checks out the cot sheets, can you let us now if there on sale too. Theres so many cute outfits in that catalogue but i dont really want to buy anymore until there here, just need cot sheets, protectors.

Well boarder has left the house.......... hes a reasonably nice guy even though some comments annoyed the fk outta me but we have learnt over the last few days he has a prescription drug problem & is highly addicted/hooked on opiates.I had some Endone (morphine) tabs leftover from my shoulder operation, in the medicene cupboard that strangely disapeared a few days ago.Yesterday he had run out & was basically de-toxing infront of our very eyes, wasnt nice, so dh snapped into gear & came straight home from work to protect me from it, anyway hes now gone back to the GC.. Dh & him were great friends, workers but somewhere over the last 12mths hes got himself into a real bad situation. He admitted to dh he has a prob today & wants to do something about it but is scared. So anyway he got more tabs today somehow & has now left the building.Yahhhh we can breath a big sigh of relief & i told dh i can run rnd nakey  Funny enough there was a show on the epidemic of this addiction to prescription drugs last night on 4 corners on ABC that we watched.... very eeery but fully made us aware of what was going on in our very own house the last few weeks  Very scary i must say.

Hi beautiful girls, hope everyone is travelling along nicely this week.

Pls - I'm so glad you're house guest is gone. You poor thing having to be there while he goes through his issues. I feel for him, but it's not what you guys need at the moment.

Petals - Thanks for the heads up on the Target sale.

Bourbon - Nice to hear from you.

Jane - Enjoy Houston & Vegas!

AFM - Just had a call from OB telling me that I have Cholestasis Of Pregnancy. I have to start meds straight away, and have been on google trying to find out info on this condition and now can't stop crying at the things I have discovered. The increased risk of a stillbirth, premature labour, baby being born with jaundice. I'm just devastated at the moment. He said my case is mild and he will be booking extra appts to monitor me and won't let me go past my due date, which is all reassuring, but I just feel so helpless now. If the baby is going to be stillborn, there's nothing they can do to stop that. :gloomy: I've started another thread to see if anyone can give me some advice or positive reassurance...hopefully a few ladies on here will be able to help me...

You all talk tooooo much.

Petals thats so great you can feel baby move, I feel noothing its quite sad. I need to stay away from any sales, someone needs to handcuff me to something

Hmm on the paid parental leave its 8 weeks from when you stop working? if I stop at christmas it might be more than that, I might work like 1 day a week for the sake of still working lol

Pls so glad he is gone, the drug thing is a bit freaky!

Nat hopefully everything is going to be fine, I will do some googling he said your case is only mild.

Nothing new with me, not going shopping I worked out I spent 500 on clothes etc just since my scan last week.

Nat- your poor thing but im sure they will monitor you as best as they possibly can & hey i would rather have a premature labour & a premmie bub alive then a still born & a jaundice baby isnt that bad,my first was very jaundice & under lights & in the sun on the ward as much as possible so thats not too bad either. The still born is a worry but like your OB said its only mild & they will closely monitor you. Hope someone offers experiences or advice for you :hugs: Have you purchased a doppler... might put your mind at ease a bit if you can check for a heart beat reguarly.

Oh Nat ......I feel for you!!!!! I am so sorry, but I have never heard of it....I am glad you have an OB that gives you guidens straight away...let us know when you know more yourself....
YOU are in good hands with your OB and try not to take all in that your read...it is just too scary to read on the net.....massive huggies:hugs:

PLS- OMG - maybe that explains a few things that happen with the guy who stayed you for a while.....it is so ugly sometimes an addiction....I started ot watch the doco to but turned it over......the sad part is for those people who got on prescriptions drugs with good intentions and ended up an addict....very sad indeed...I personally hate to take pills..the occasional headache pill is ok....but I had a friend years ago who got hooked on them too..she took them to try to prevent migraine and took about 15 pills a day even though she didn't get the migraine ...in the she needed help to fight the habbit......

Petals ! What a great bargain!!!!! Great info about Target too.....definitely head over there on thursday......

jane - how how lovely - have lovely trip

plsjust... glad your boarder has left the building... bit you have a sigh of relief now... topless swimming back on the agenda.
His opiate addiction explains everything really... most commonly its oxycontin... its nickname is hillbilly heroin...
even though he was a prick I hope that he finds help to quit his addiction
ooh your fainting fall sounds painful I hope you are ok...

jane.. I hope that you have a fabulous time in houston.. think of all those fabulous baby clothes and how cheap they are...baby gap, oshkosh...oooooh
The maternity leave payment will not give me much as I plan to return to work quickly..(4-6weeks) it is not enough to even cover my mortgage..!!. I will see If I can get the baby bonus..although I am close to missing out due to my income being too high...

mrsp....ooooh that credit card must be getting hot... self control all about self control...lol

Petals...woohoo on the movement. Great bra buy... like pls bet they dont have them in bazooka size..I think I need a DD or a E. I bought some maternity summer tanktops from Kmart they were great for $12.
ouch about this weeks spending..lol..lol

Nat... what a terrible day you have had finding out about that...
Dont fret too much its very very common in pregnancy and many mums have no problem. The will monitor you to make sure your bilirubin does not rise too much... somethimes they need to take your gallbladder out.. keyhole surgery and it cures it... stop reading all the nasties and just go with the flow.. think of the positives...lots more scans to see bub..thats got to be a good thing.

bourbon,,great to have you drop in

well another long day for me..
finally had my first antenatal appointment with my GP obsitrician.. whom I have known for years and is just the biggest sweetie.. it went all well. then it was a rush afterwards to accpuncture...sigh bliss....
was able to lie on my back and tummy with towel support but I think that this will be the last time I will be able to it this way... I go back in a month and we will do it on my side...

I made a little purchase today...mrsP move over...lol..lol.. I went into aldi and they had a pack of onsies 5 for $10 in a lovely soft cotton... woohoo...go big spender...
although I will make up with it tomorrow as I am going to go and buy 2 airconditioning units...so that will hurt..sigh... what we do for our children..
oh and baby brain got me good today.. I left after lunch for work then arrived and thought..oooh did I forget to close the door??.... so I turned around and drove home to check...and of course it was closed..lol... lucky I live a 3min drive from work...

anyway about to eat dinner...

glad tomorrow is my friday...although not looking forward to working the long weekend sigh... I hope I will get a chance to look in target..even though its country target it may have some things..

Pls the sizes of the Bras went up to F cup not sure if that helps!

Nat - I did some reading last night on Mr Google  not that I am an expert or anything but the chances of still born are very very low and the chances of a still born with a Mild case even lower, it does say you need to be monitored very closely (which I am sure your Ob will do) and that you may have to book in for a cesear early which mean you get to have your little bundle early! Try to stay positive and keep us updated its always a massive shock but I have my fingers and toes crossed for a safe delivery of your little one!

Mrs P - I am so afraid I am going to do the same when it comes to clothes after next week!!

AFM - Quiet day today I think we have earnt it been shopping way to much and doing way too much our little monkey needs a mummy rest day I think! :goodvibes:

Good morning all....:sunshine:

Firstly Nat, I been thinking of you all night....I hope you are ok. Me too been reading about it now and it does sound awful, BUT your are in good hands and I am sure that if OB find something out of the ordinary you have to have an early cesarean or other procedure's. I read on the American pregnancy association that you often feel depressed, it is a sign, so have that in your mind. They said as well that Dandelion Root and Milk Thistle are natural substances that are beneficial to the liver and is safe to take. Apparently if is very common in the Swedish race too...even though I never heard about it, but I don't know what it is called in swedish.
Anyway, just a little hug for you this morning......:hugs::hugs::hugs:....we will support you....:hugs:

Well, off to work...if I can find a pair of shoes to fit me...I got elephant feet this morning ......I got blisters from the only shoes I could wear yesterday...need to dig deep in my wardrobe I think to find something.....:hair:

Girls thank you SO MUCH for taking the time to do some research for me...now I've started crying again, but cos of how supportive you all are. Thanks for passing on that info you found, makes me feel alot better about it all. Now I guess I just have to take it day by day and hope to make it safely across the line.

I am off to the OB to pick up my prescription...not happy to be taking more meds on top of the Clexane and Cartia but I guess if it keeps the condition under control and keeps bubs safe, then I will do anything. I am just worried what effect all these meds are going to have on the baby...but I don't have a choice and I have to trust that OB knows what's best.

Thanks again for all your support and going that extra mile by actually reading up on the condition. I really don't know what I would do without you girls :hugs:

Morning girls,

Nat - It would be a very stressful thing to have to go through, if you are worried about the meds i would contact your OB and talk to him about it, he may put your mind at ease. We are here for you whenever you need it:hugs:

Swede - Poor thing with your elephant feet

Petals - Might have to look at those bra's, i'm a big boobie girl too so we'll see if they have any E cups. They usually don't

Micca - whoa big spender you:laughing:

Pls - I watched 4 weddings but missed the frist Wedding so didn't see where you got married poo, such a funny show. That certainly explains things re your boarder, i hope he gets some help. Skinny Dipping time:sunshine:

jane - Have an awesome time in the States, i'm soooo jealous, the shopping over there is awesome and with the aussie $ at the moment you'll be able to buy heaps of cool baby stuff really cheap!

Bourbon - Hey chick, hope those melon ovaries go down soon. Not long until your NT how exciting!!

I'm reeeeeally over this contract thing at work, they still haven't sorted it out, i am currently on a weeks temp extension and that ends on Friday so if they don't sort out the proper
extension by Friday they will have to apply for another temp one grrrr, i have to do manual timesheets which are a pain and my Manager goes on leave next week for 2 weeks. Stupid big companies that outsource

Nat - Im sorry the doc found a problem but im glad it is mild and able to be treated somewhat. Thats good they found out sooner than later and they will be monitoring you closely. We are all going to be such strong women by the time we have or babies after all the hurdles!

Micca - Im glad you love your gp Ob, there would be nothing worse than not liking them! Oh yes the baby brain, ive had that a few times already myself

Micca from memory the lagest one I had I think was like 14cm I spent a week or so in Gold Coast hospital it was that bad! I was about 7 weeks pregnant and looked full term!!!!!
I often ponder if it is why I lost one of the twins  but alas 1 healthy is still giving me unbelivable Joy :smiliedance: how are yours at the moment?

Well ladies..... i was brave & didnt cry when my car got towed  it was upsetting but also very excitting... thinks that what helped me get thru :D

Lissy- grrrr they need to get their butts into gear hey.... one less stress you def dont need.

Bourbon-must be uncomfortable still having huge ovaries.Like for god sake body theres a bubby growing that makes us feel uncomfortable enough... now shove off & let bubba have the room.

Petals - Ouch thats a good size ovary you had there too.... how big are they now??

Mcshad- hope your scan went well today !!!

Time for a snack i think.... feeling like cr@p today,dizzy/faint even just sitting still, cant shake it & feeling very full like, squished & uncomfortable.Just realised it another week down today woo hoo 23wks,the hospital count the twins as viable next week :smiliedance: which makes me happy, although it would be a major struggle for them if they were born now but the odds are better for them.I have to find a way to keep reminding myself to take the i-folic tabs.... i keep forgetting.Ooops. Dh said hes coming home for a swim today when he gets home... so am i hopefully although yesterday he got home at 2am this morning...thankfully last day/night till this grand opening of this shopping centre so means the end of these crazy hrs for us.

Hi everyone!!

Pls yay for your car nearly being back on the road....then look out shops!! Glad you have the house back to yourselves and hope the guy gets some help.

Micca nice and cool for summer for you! I will be in the climate control of the hospital before it gets too hot! My couch and I are best friends!! I spend a lot of my time on her now. We also got a few packs of those suits from Aldi for our 3 in 00000!

Nat hope you are feeling more positive today. Now that it is known at least you can get the right monitoring. :hugs:

Lissy hope they sort your contract before the end of the week.

Jane enjoy your trip away!! How exciting. Enjoy the shopping while your there!

Petals Hope you are feeling rested!!

Swedeenie boo for the elephant feet!! Mine were a little on the large side last week and hurt! But now everytime I sit down I have my feet elevated and it seems to be working at keeping them down.

MrsP We might need to start a shop-a-holics group for you!

Bourbon I hope those ovaries start going down for you!

Well it looks like we have found our new car!! Just waiting on the bank and we will go pick it up!! So excited as it is one thing off a very long list of things we need to get done in such a little time! It is a Kia grand carnival sports.

We are excited to be seeing our specialist again next week for our 20week scan and booking in to JHH for when it is time for these 3 to arrive. So scary to think if things go wrong they could be here in as little as 7weeks!! I am starting to freak out about what I still need to organise before I have to leave.
I need to go and have something to eat!!

Hi ladies

sorry its taken me so long to join you!

Bourbon - my ovaries were down to 6cm when I had my 12 week NT scan - if this helps...

Just want to introduce myself - I am due at end of March and I'm currently suffering horrible all day sickness, vomiting morning and evening, I am off my food, don't like anything anymore, and have the worse taste in my mouth. Just this week I have started aching in my back and tummy, I feel huge and uncomfortable:( I am so tired, when will I get the glow the magazines all talk about?

Pls - glad you are rid of your boarder, sounds like you have had a terrible time with him around
 to everyone else, I look forward to getting to know you all x

Well wonder what todays going to throw at me... hopefully not a big $$ bill for my car lol nahh its only a safety cert of $70 & then front brake pads unless they need machining which i dont think they do but you never know.Shhhhh I dont feel faint today so im gonna be a good girl & just stay put on the lounge & enjoy it while i can.

Morning,

Welcome Laura:wave:

Swede - Gorgeous little belly!!I can't see the 8kgs thats for sure, are you fairly tall?

Bubba - How exciting about the new car, i guess it has to be big enough to fit DD and 3 new bubba's plus 2 mummies. 7 weeks does sound so soon but you never know, they may hold a little longer. What do that class as full term for triplets?

Micca - Love your girly babette ticker :)

Mrs P - You can do it!! (resist Target)

Pls - Hope you are feeling a little better today with no dizziness? Have fun picking up the Car

AFM - I'm going to pop into Target after work. I've decided to buy 1 packet of Huggies newborn nappies and will have a look at the clothes too. They also have 20% off maternity, pity the range is so crappy

Wow what a chatty lot you have been in the last 30+ hours.

Pls - congrats on your boarder leaving peacefuly and without to much hassel. You have your house back now enjoy. Hope he finds some help soon.

Micca - yah for a day off, hope it heats up down there soon for you. :smiliedance:on your purchase, but really you shouldnt go overboard:laughing:

jane007 - im hearing you about the travel insurance. I think its so strange that anyone who can get preggers naturaly planned or not doesn't have to pay as much as assisted conception.

swede - sorry to hear your swelling has not got any better. I hope with pleanty of water and elevating your legs it will improve for you.

Mrs P - are you trying to convince us or you that your not going to target:rolleyes:

AFM - well had or scan yesterday and everything looked just like it should at this stage. Chooch was being naughty and putting its hand across its heart so took a while for the sonographer to get a clear shot. DH and I are so very happy that we have a healthy bubs and really didnt matter what flavour. So I bet you all want to know right........well its a

Pls - yeah DH is so excited he took us straight to babys r us and got the cot set with mobile and cloths hamper also wall paper surrounds, then we went to Big W and got her some pink stuff so we got to buy her pressies before anyone else. At the scan when she said it was a girl i cried, i was so convinced it was a boy, but i would not have minded either way. DS13 was funny i asked him to carry the bubs shopping up to her room and when he came down said " is it a boy or girl" i looked and asked if he looked in the bad and he replyed yeah, so its it boy or girl, me and DH rolled around laughing so he ran up and looked again both boys are very happy with a little sister to look after.

Morning:wave:

MrsP I also has that problem yesterday with scrolling down, it was so annoying!

Pls – hope your car doesn’t cost too much and you have a nice relaxing day. Oh I hope mine is gone my 16 weeks, don’t feel I can take much more, I keep talking to pregnant friends who are ‘loving being pregnant’ and I feel really guilty as I have wanted this for so long and here I am hating every second…
You mentioned buying the newborn nappies from bigW, are they on special there, what is a good price? I am also thinking of buying a few here and there when I see them for a good price??? Might also be tempted to go to target too

Lissyloo – yes I agree totally about the range at target being rubbish, I went looking everywhere for some maternity clothes for my holiday, just singlets and tanks, and nice summer shorts, and I found nothing…..seems the only nice things are in the designer shops and your looking at 84 bucks for a bloody vest signglet top (they do look nice though) happy shopping - how much are the huggies in target?

Mcshad – congrats on a girl YAY! I think we are going to have a surprise – but it will be hard to resist when the time comes…

Micca – I was also thinking of looking for the US and UK sites to buy baby stuff, as did you see the thing on tv last night about its like double in Aus for stuff, even with the shipping included to buy from over seas. Let me know if you find any good ones
 to everyone else
AFM - I havent :barf: so far yet, trying to drink water today as I have only been managing about 1litre a day, going to finish my assignment for uni and then I might venture to Target to check out the deals if I feel up to it. I have been getting lower back pain and period like aches, is this normal? they come and go, are not too painful but are uncomfortable........ just to add to my list of aches and pains:gloomy:

my ticker is 2 days out but cant be bothered to go through the hassle of setting it up again.
PS please could someone add me onto the roll call next time they are updating? I cant seem to copy it over without messing it up - I am due march 29 with gender surprise ta xxx

I am so sick to death of being told I cant do thing! When I talk to friends about the Bub like things we have planned ect they say oh you wont be able to do that with a baby or yeah right the bub wont sleep through that or you will be up and down all night, dont plan on working for 12 weeks ect ect ect I just am so sick to death of it as far as I am concerned (Hubby is the same) its a 5kg lump of eating pooping cuddle machine and the only hard part was getting pregnant!! Sorry but does anyone find this is its mind boggling

Laura - I have found a couple of good and cheap Maternity shops here in melbourne, there are some very expensive that i don't even bother with. I have HEAPS of singlets and tops etc that will be ok for a while because i love long and stretchy anyway. I want to buy some more leggings and so far only Kmart sell ones that look ok and not baggy. Aches and pains are fairly normal early on, if you are worried just call your OB

Petals - Yes that does drive me bonkers, of course life will change we know that but doesn't mean we won't be able to do anything at all just because we have a little bub to look after.

Micca - I also want to find some good US sites for shopping who ship over here.

Mcshad - Congrats on your little bundle of Pink, that is fantastic:D have fun shopping now!!

Pls - I don't like the work stuff at target, i bought a skirt which is good and a stipey tunic/dress to wear with leggings which i love but everything else is pretty crappy.

Soooo busy at work as always lately, i better go and heat up my lunch before my 1pm meeting. I have left over chicken fried rice i made last night, yummo!!

thanks mcshad[B]

Petals I have also found that too, everything I say I want to do, people knock you down, like your life will end....I told someone I was using cloth nappies and showed them my stash, they said oh no you wont once you have a baby, and I was saying I might not use bassinet as I don't feel comfortable with it, and might put straight into cot and got whinged at for that too, oh no you wont be able to cope getting up in the night, we have a tiny house and the nursery is rig next to us........and lots of my mates telling me I wont ever be able to have a shower again, or go out again or be skinny again........needless to say they all had no issues conceiving.:hair:

LissyLo - I used to live in Melbs, and I can imagine there being some good stuff there, I loved shopping there, now I am in expensive and no good shops Perth:( I will look on line.....hopefully we will move back to Melbs one day:flowerz:

Petals & Laura - Trust me honey, i have been there and yeah it may take a little longer to leave the house or you might have to put your shower off for 15 min while you feed bubs but lordy lordy life does not stop. Go out, have coffee go on holidays gosh its not the end of the world, tell your friends that. And getting up in the middle of the night after a week or two or maybe 3 monts :p you get used to it. Its all part of being a mum, and boy i cant wait for it to happen again for me DH DS's and bub to bond. Pls im sure you will be able to agree with me having been a mum before.

Lissy - I like the kmart tights not only are they comfy there only $12 , and if you have long shirts/short dresses there good for work too.

Having a long weekend, Flex tomorrow:highfive:. 4 days off, and i cant wait.

ok well Ive had my grilled fish wrap..yummo... now Im thinking I should go and do something productive but I cant seem to get off the net...lol..

laura...welcome to our lovely group.

lissy still looking for sites...got to find one that posts to aus

I was told by a friend that you will get bombarded with tons of advice and to just take everything with a grain of salt and pick out the best tips....
sometimes people telling you what to do is more a personal justification that they did the right thing with their kids rather than thinking what is best for you.

But Ive picked up a few ideas so far... like a baby sling is a must...especially the shoulder adjustable ones.

:hugs:Thanks ladies Hubby and I have been working for this for 4 years and we are both quite spontanus people and I dont intend on doing anything differently we intend on Fitting the Bub in with our lifestyle rather the other way around we are also both very routine orientated people as well so I just dont see all these bits being an issue alas only time will tell!

Geez I must say Im 21 weeks now and Bubba has been really kicking me today I have felt she/he all day it started at 4am this morning and its still moving around it is fantastic to feel I must admit just never been this active!

heheheh another spontanus decision we sold 3 of the puppies so (which if course would be impossible with a baby) Hubby just returned my C/Card yeeeha off to the sales tonight :smiliedance:

Also Nat still thinking about you how did you go with the Ob?

Forever you have been a now show for a little while I really hope everything is okay :hugs:

Hi all

Greetings from beautiful Rottnest Island! We're having a lovely break with warm weather and sandy beaches. Still looking for somewhere to live but having a few days off from the search for a bit of rest and relation.

McShad congrats on the girl. The boys will no doubt dote on her. I pity any future boyfriends!

Lissy have you been to the pea in a pod warehouse in Collingwood? Just wondering if it's worth it. I'm going to have to get everythinbg I need before we relocate as there's not much over here.

Micca if you find things you love but the site doesn't ship to aus have you used a parcel forwarding service before? I have the details of a good reliable one and can give you the info once I'm back in melb.

Petals I do agree with how you're feeling as I was there myself before DD1. But IMHO how much you do after the baby comes depends a lot on the baby. DD1 was colicky and DD2 was colicky and had silent reflux, I had great plans to return to work after DD1 was 4 months old but the sleep deprivation was too much and it seemed to take me a long time to adapt to the demands of a baby. We did travel a lot with DD1 but DD2 was a nightmare traveller and we reached the point where it was just easier not to as no one had a good time. I used to look back on all the thibgs I'd said before DD1 and wonder what I was thinking. While I'd never presume to tell anyone else how their baby will be after birth etc my only advice would be to keep an open mind and be flexible.

Hi to everyone else. Gotta run. Off to the beach!

donna2712
30-09-2010, 14:53
Petels - every baby is different and every parent is different. Some may have had colicy babies that wouldn't sleep which meant they were too tired to do anything, others (like me) may have had a brilliant baby with no more than a dozen bad nights in the first 6 months, and going out and doing things was no hassle. I think people who have a rough time and a troubled baby are more than willing to hope you have one too.....

Just go on with your life as you would normally and if you can't do something, then don't, if you can.... go out and enjoy yourself.

In my opinion women have been brining up babies for 10s of thousands of years and I really, truely, believe a lot of it is built in and will come to you naturally. But if you have problems or feel depressed (and don't be ashamed if you do - it is very common) then reach out to someone for help........

That is Donna's 2 cents worth

For those ladies who have found out the sex, I am interested in finding out how accurate the Chinese gender predictor is.....

If you want, check out the link and let us know if it is right or not. Don't forget the date of conception and age is for when the eggs were originally fertilized..... just some fun.

http://www.thelaboroflove.com/chart/cal.html

McShad1
30-09-2010, 15:07
donna - i had a FET with this bub, the conception dates in April were correct on the calandar, the transfer date May was wrong

micca
30-09-2010, 15:08
donna... I went to that chinese predictor... it said a girl for me... and I had a girl...

sonja.....enjoy the lovely rottnest island... hmm Ive heard of those sites and have one saved. but I must say at the moment I have not found anything that I could get excited about.

when My goddaugher was 4months and was living in italy I went and visited.. was there for 6 weeks. The baby was so good..we used to forget that we had her with us... there was no real routines.. bub took a break when we did and we had no issues on crowed trains, buses walking and staying overnight in hotels... Im sure that it was the fact that both parents were so laid back... and not stressed about following all the advice..

I guess that at the end of the day you have to establish your own routines and the baby fits your life not the other way around. I know that the bible on having a good baby and sleeping through the night is a book called babywise... most people whom have read it swear by it...

Sonja

My point was only about being flexible. I'd never in a million years wish anyone else go thru what I went thru that might be the acse with other people but wasn't my experience. My girls were both amazing in so many ways but just not in the sleep dept. I sincerely hope it's not like that for anyone else

Petals - i have found the same, just the other day a friend said when talking about her pains in the 3rd trimester "ha! this is what you'll have to look forward to!"
Just because i havent had a baby yet doesnt mean im totally clueless to how the symptoms can make u feel like cr*p and like its all going to be a huge surprise that there isnt much room in there by the third trimester!!
I replied with "i dont mind, ive gone through alot already with the ivf and swollen ovaries, im just happy after yrs of trying that we are finally pregnant" and that shut her up!!
Then there were other comments from people when we announced the preg like "ohhh start saving now" or "no more sleep for you" or "say good bye to ... "

Seriously if i ever get like that i want to be shot!

30-09-2010, 16:15
Petals- bubs will fit into your life not the other way rnd (unless you want your life run by them) But basically as everyone has already said be flexible ,take it as it comes. As for advice listen & just take in what you think may be useful for you guys.... unfortunately the advice doesnt stop right upto when there teenagers... some one always telling you how you should be doing it.Your the parents & be proud of how you bring up your child. They all had there chance now its yours. My 4 children never stopped me from doing anything... coffee with friends, going out shopping... if my child didnt like doing something i wanted to do well stiff sh$t... it was something i wanted to do & everyone has to do certain things in life they dont like so deal with it & they did ,otherwise they missed out on something they liked doing that i didnt want to do.

Donna- out of my almost 6 children  that chart only got 2 right for me.

No news form the car ppl yet hmmmmm i asked dh to ring them but he said no they'll ring when there ready to well ummm its like after 4pm & dh asleep on the lounge so im going to make a quick call & see if its ready or at least get updated.

Lissy I thought you were cheering me on to go to Target hahhaah. I am going out for dinner, maybe I can just have a quick peek on the way home

I am sure once I get the quote for my tiles for our build I will ease up on the shopping, I am guessing it will be 20-25k we will see.

Lissy I am doing newborn sposies then doing cloth so should start buying some but would like to ******* know when my house will be finished so I am not moving everything we didn't need here!

Mcshad giiiirl how exciting! glad everything looks good!

Micca good effort ont he sleep last night, I would be dreaming to get 10 hours in on a school night.

Laura I still get period type feelings.

Petals I feel your pain, I am sick of people telling me how things will be what I can and can't do and especially HOW SH!T PARENTING IS.. Like just because you aren't maternal and don't enjoy being a mummy doesn't mean others won't! I usually shut them up with something to do with ttc/ivf.

Micca the best advice I have had is from FIL when I told him I want to breast feed for 12 months if I can 'nah you don't need to do it anymore than 3 months' LIKE YOU WOULD KNOW

Petals I can't wait to feel something, my scan showed my baby girl kicking more kicks than a footy team but I feel nada!

On the people saying stupid sh!t note, we have a new girl at work and I just don't like her.

First she tells me she has one boy and one girl and that she was SOOO lucky she got one of both. I knew her kids were in care because she is working, even though at the moment her bf has no job. She tells me she wants another two kids. (I'm getting to my point ) she asked me if I will go back to work which I replied hell no I want to be there and watch my babies grow, we can afford to so why not! (now to my point) She said she put hers in care at 5 months then 8 weeks for the second one because... SHE DOESN'T KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH KIDS. And you want two more????

Am I mental or is there something wrong with that?

Jane007
30-09-2010, 18:44
Hi All.

Laura - Welcome. I am in Perth to and I hear you loud and clear about the lack of cheap maternity stuff. I got a few stock items from Mother and Me but paid a bomb for them. Also I get the pains too. I think it is just everything moving around in there and making room.

Lissy - I agree that Targets Maternity range is crap.

McShad - Congrats on your little pink miracle. How exciting!!!!!

Micca - I agree on the US dollar and taking advantage of the shopping. I will be spending up a storm while I am over there. Outlet malls here I come. Would help if we knew the flavour but we don't want to know so it will be lots of while and yellow and green I think

Petal - The "advice" thing annoys me too. One things that constanly cracks me up is that people keep saying " you lose all dignity when you have a baby" HAHAHAHA. This coming from people who had C-sections and never once had internal scans. When I then pipe up and tell them what we had to go through to get pregnant they shut up pretty fast.

Sonja - Oh I love Rotto. It is sooo relaxing. Have fun.

Donna - Chinese thing predicted Girl for me but will have to wait till March 25th to find out if it worked.

Mrs P - Oh that is so frustrating about the girl you work with. I completely understand mothers having to return to work and there is nothing wrong with daycare but I disagree in people having more if they don't WANT to spend time with the ones they already have! I have some friends like that. They don't have a maternal bone in their body and have more than enough money for one of them to stay home but they don't. And they hate their jobs too which makes even less sense.

AFM - Tickets are all booked. DH is off on Sat and me on Thursday. Jeepers better start packing his bag!!! He is hopeless like that. Not quite sure how he is going to manage without me for a week. They are putting us up in very nice serviced apartments which means we won't have to eat out everynight for 5 weeks and we have washing machine and dryer in our suite too. But this means DH will have to cook for himself for the first week. could be a disaster!!!! If we have a boy I am raising him to know how to cook and iron. His future wife will thank me. lol

Lissy...how good was target...i got the nappies too! Hubby just shook his head when he saw that..thought I was crazy to buy that already!!!! Then I got a mattress, baby bath with insert baby chair, a cream baby linen (for spare set - getting something a bit cuter later on when I now the gender...) , 3 cute little babysuits, 2 mattress protectors and a nappy disposal bin........

I was talking to my friend at work who gave me the cot and i told her i saw this very cute animal baby cot bumper.....and she informed me that SIDS recommend people NOT to use them as they can be a dangerous....i am so glad she told me that...I would have bought one for $120 otherwise......check out SIDS website for some other tips too regarding sleeping etc.......

Petals...know what you mean....just take it with a grain of salt.......you will know what is right for you...and if you need advice you will surly ask someone that you trust.....:)

Donna - how are you going?

Laura - you have found a chatty bunch here

Thanks girls for you comment about my belly....it feel massive but somehow people still say I am small?????? Lissy - i am 169cm.....so not too tall being a swedish viking and all.....

swedeendie you can buy 'airwraps' I think they are called for the cot if you are worried about body parts dangling through the bars.

micca
30-09-2010, 21:01
gosh it sounds like you all have had a great shopping day at target...lol..lol.

I was talking to my BFF about baby clothes and she basically roused on me for wanting to buy clothes in bigW or target saying I should be buying quality. Im like F-0ff the poor kids only going to be in it for a couple of months... spending $30 per outfit is so not in my budget.... I then was told that I should go for it because I had lots of money...sigh... at this point I was getting pretty p1ssed and informed her that with 2 mortgages and a single income I did not have the disposable income to dress the baby in designer wear... I think she got the point... but it just really peeves me that just because you work hard and earn decent $$ people think that you are rockafella and can go out and buy what ever you like and need no help with anything...sigh.
She then roused on me for mentioning that I might want to do a baby book...sigh.. shes one of those non committed to anything people.. Sometimes my BFF can be very painful...but living in the country you dont have a lot of girlfriends to choose from, so you develop a lot of tolerance.
sorry about the vent sometimes you just want your friends to be supportive and they are not....

swedee -- good to hear about the baby bumper.. my only advice I have is that when they are older and have teeth they like to chew on the cot rails..so a protective padding over the rail tops help to save this.

jane....... jealous of your trip and all the fablous baby stuff... baby gap and oshcosh here you come.....

off for a cuppa...

Mrs P
01-10-2010, 06:59
Micca gah frustrating! Tell her if she wants your baby dressed in dearer clothes she can go buy her some lol.

On the cot rail I think you can get little plastic rail protectors. I've seen some cute little strips of fabric with nice little ties. Some babies don't chew some do. I think with Boori cots you can buy new top rails if they get chewed up, I might be wrong. Mmmmm nothing tastier than varnished wood

I am STILL waiting to feel baby move! almost 21 weeks. Ob said 22 weeks so I'm just patiently waiting. I feel random little feelings like maybe once a day so it might be baby but gosh I can't wait to feel full movement

Swede - Good job at Target!! Well your still 10cms taller than me. I used to live with a Swedish girl in the UK and she was a shorty like me with Brown hair (she dyes it blond) so i guess not all Swedish girls ate tall and Blonde
You still are definitely a good looking race :yes:though. Speaking of Swedes, we are off to Ikea tonight

Mrs P - You didn't go to Target yesterday, what about today:laughing:. I saw some of those plastic cot rails, they call them Teether rails i think, great idea

mrsP- yahh for resisting target !!!I went & looked but resisted too.Although they did have mattress protectors pack of 2 for $28- spewing i didnt grab a pack now, plus the nappies but dh said what already & made a bit of a fuss about it cause monies tight till we get paid later today.

Lissy-Yipppe dh getting tickets for the big day.Daylight savings already OMG.. thats painful for us cause we gotta think before we ring ppl late cause its even later down there:laughing:

Micca- Your friend needs ot pull her head in unless shes gonna pay for the outfits... geez nothing wrong with Big W & target clothing... as you say there not in them all that long. Its funny i never think of best & less but OMG they some cute clothes...

Jane-get packing not long to dh goes.

Laura-ohh the dry wretching with toothbrushing.... i still do it if i get carried away & brush for too long  but if i do a good quick job im fine.

Well had a **** night sleep.... yesterday had nachos for lunch... bad move started heartburn early then went for dinner at opportos at like 8:30pm so then came home VERY full & heartburn started as soon as i hit the bed at 10:30pm so skulled more Gaviscon but it was so bad nothing helped so ended up sleeping on the lounge sitting up... drank milk which hurt going down, then more gaviscon to no avail.... feel like crap today & had coffee & breakfast with another hit of Gaviscon. Now staying upright till i eat lunch(which is be a acid free lunch,so not tommies,no fruit, gonna find something to ease the pain) followed by another gaviscon:barf: looks like my days of opporto are over, the chilli is killing me now......but mind you if i didnt have salsa for lunch i might have been fine & not had such a late dinner  Anyway on the car front its ready to be picked up $297 which i think is fantastic for front brakes & a $70- safety certificate included in that price. So when dh gets back from Ingham we'll go pick it up & bring the baby home cause we cant pay rego today cause the 2 companies were waiting on getting paid from havent paid as yet(was meant to be yesterday for both of them)...1 promised later today but wont hit our bank till tomoz & the other company wont pay till monday which means wont hit the acc till tues.So monday will pack my little snack pack with drinks & lots of munchies as theyve warned me the wait at the RTA is usually hrs.. which wont be for my car cause they said it will be quick but the wait is for the cars lined up in front that may not be new car like mine & majorly modified so they take their time & so will spend monday doing that, will be there before opening so hopefully im first up.Anyway enough :ecomcity::ecomcity: from me going to search for a nice lunch thats not going to upset this throat & stomach of mine as im in agony so need something soothing for lunch:laughing:

Ohh forgot with all my :ecomcity: dh's brother & wife had a ceasar yesterday, little boy Bailey weighing 9lb11oz & his length is off the mat they use to measure them when born so he's over 55cms,so today are going to do a proper measurement on a bigger ruler  There also in the same hospital south of sydney, as my GF who was induced yesterday at 3:30pm,so we told them to go find my GF & say hi & that there my BIL.... she'll spin out.... baby brain me forgot they were booked in for induction & ceasar on the same day, same hospital  How funny.

Pls - YAY for getting your car today!

Jane - Have a great trip!

Lissy - Gotta love the muslin wraps 4 pack for $6 bargain!

Sweedie - I did alot of reasearch on the cot bumpers as well I have purchased the air wrap and its already on the cot and its fantastic its one of the only ones on the market that is breathable so if bubs rolls right over to the edge of the cot and faces it they can still breath like normal!

Micca - Im with you whats the use in buyin designer when it costs so much and all they do is puke on it! The only thing we will be spending a bit on is a coming home from hospital outfit!

Mrs P - Try laying down, when I lie on my back I can see and feel bubs move the most!

AFM - Having a day out today went to Target this morning and picked up some wraps, nappies and wipes and put a big "PINK" layby on just incase we find out is a girl on Tuesday! Now going for a nap as I did not sleep very well alst night Stupid Men! having a I cant stand my hubby day :hissy:

01-10-2010, 11:28
Petals- i wasnt going to get bumpers as the hospital even mentioned make sure you have none at all on the cot but am worried abot them kicking their legs through the cot at night.Ours will be sharing the same cot for awhile, laying across it next to each other.Hmmm:rolleyes: Will have my car today but still cant drive it till it passes the proper RTA checks & rego paid... so few more days yet till freedom.

Ladies there is cot rail protectors there about $14.99 Prince Lion Heart is the brand at toys r us or dearer at other stores & are plastic strips, they just snap onto the rail to prevent teeth marks etc... the material tie on ones will protect bub from the paint or varnish but wont stop the little teeth marks getting through,so if your looking at re-selling cots you wont get as much.Believe me they do chew them HARD.

well here I find myself at 11am on the couch and time has gone into some space warp somewhere.... done nothing except read my book and the internet.. Ive go a mirror covered in pink post-its staring at me, knitting to do and I just cant seem to get my enlarging bottom off the couch... sigh... maybe after writing this I will get enthused...

I so want to go to target...sigh... our country target is so pathetic its not really worth a special trip for 200km return. and the big fancy target are 250km one way... so I will just have to live though you guys... I work on sunday so if Im lucky I might get a peek...My big shopping day is going to be thursday after the 20w scan..ironically I think Im looking forward to that more...lol..lol... as I have not been shopping since may..

petals...yay for having a great day at target... the air wrap sounds great...muslim wraps will Ill add both to my look at list..another job to do today...make a list...lol

plsjust... oooh you poor thing with all the heartburn...sounds like chillie is off you eating list... Yay for the car....wooohoooo you will be on the road tomorrow afternoon....how exciting watch out credit card next week.

laura.... sorry to hear that you are getting the teethbrushing nausea...I must say I got nothing at all, and no problem with smells either..Im not complaining at all....lol..
Glad you get it about my BFF... she also lives in a large expensive house with no mortgage and does not have to work.. although her husband is not on a very high wage they have a lot of disposable income.... sigh...she also comes from a wealthy family.. sometimes her richie attitudes really get up my nose...

lissy... yay for DH getting his wish with the final... so will you have a quiet night at home...??
Its sunny up here in the mountains as well and warm too... woohoo come on spring

mrsP... can you hold out from target?? Im guessing this weekend you will be shopping...lol....
hmm maybe I will suggest to my friend to buy the expensive items... ironically everything she has given me has been from target...lol..

now I really must move off the couch and do something... time to consult with the to do list... Ill make a cuppa first...

Hi ladies.

Pls hope the wait at the RTA isn't too long for you! I suffer badly for heart burn if I eat a big meal now  which sucks as I am not hungry most of the day and then I am and I can't eat as much as I want too!

Jane have a great time away and happy shopping!

Petals I didn't go near target!! Went through the clothes we have been given and the 00000 clothes that we have brought last night and as I am unsure of how big and how fast these 3 will grow I won't buy anymore stuff until they are home with us.

Micca we only ever brought any designer clothes for DD if we were going to a really important occasion and couldn't find anything in the other stores first!

Laura I hear you on brushing your teeth! I try to have breakfast early and leave brushing my teeth to the last moment before walking out the door and it works 95% of the time. Have fun shopping!

MrsP we were lucky that DD didn't chew her cot at all. Think we might get them for these 3 as I think they will be in their cots a bit after they awake and don't want them chewing them waiting for their turn for a nappy change!!

Hi to everyone I have missed.

Well I have had a pretty bad couple of days. Just starting to freak out about having to leave my family in as little as 5weeks:crying:. I am so not ready to be away from DD and DP and my family. I am not really worried about these 3 as I know they are in the best hands with our DR. Also as we have everything on layby nothing will be paid off before I go to stay at Newcastle so I will be leaving with nothing ready for these 3. So different to DD as we walked out to have her knowing we had everything in place. Then I worry about DP as she has to continue working while I am away and also looking after DD and trying to get the babies room ready and coming down to see me. I feel bad that it all falls back onto her. On a brighter note she has gone to pick up our new car!! Well used car I should say. So this afternoon we will be the proud owners of a Kia grande carnival sports!! Never in my wildest dreams would I have seen myself driving a people mover  Hope everyone has a good day.

Quick one on theatrass protectors. Boori matrasses are bigger how will I know if something will fit

plsjust1more
01-10-2010, 13:12
MrsP- I have seen cot mattress protectors advertised as large cot for Boori cots & normal cot size ones. Maybe measure your mattress first just to be sure.A standard size cot mattress is 1300mm x 690mm so if a Booori is bigger your gonna need larger measurements then these for it to fit properly.

petalsinthewind
01-10-2010, 13:21
mrs p mine I brought from spotlight fits my boori.

micca
01-10-2010, 13:26
fantastic tip plsjust...as I have aboori mattress and would have never thought about it...

I managed to get off the couch for and hour but now I am back on..
Made lists of things I need to buy for babette...
found the airwrap on a site..they had it for $42 I guess that is not too bad.
I found a handfull of chocolate peanuts and had them with my cuppa...I feel sick now...lol..lol
maybe an orange will help....
will try and go for a walk this afternoon.. cant wait for the housemate to leave so I can spread out everything.. 2 days and counting...

plsjust1more
01-10-2010, 14:55
Micca- glad i could help :D you'll probably enjoy having the place to yourself but then at times miss the company till babette gets here.Im considering the air wrap thingy, just while there so little & for just one side of the cot.Im not going to bother when they go into their own cots though.. im more worried about ventilation cause its so hot id rather them have full air flow.

Well had to pay for car over the phone as the mechanic wanted to leave for the day:( & dh isnt home from ingham as yet. Then i got the big lecture about i cant drive it home unless i get the CTP insurance sorted first & if i do that today i HAVE to register it today also which only leaves me 1 hr to do the lot & totally not possible.I need the required paperwork out of the car to go organise the CTP then RTA stipulate arrive no later then 4pm.So anyway hes locked the car up out his gates with all the paperwork in it for me to grab & hopes he can trust me to ring the towy... again.Hmmmm  So had a mad panic where i had hid my spare keys..(from teenagers,no temptation then) but its all cool i found them eventually.
Still having hard time with the heartburn/acid, my throat is just burning... i thought icecream would help being really cold but googled it & it said  one of the things to stay away from.So just have to live on Gaviscon till my throat heals from being burnt from the acid :banghead:

micca
01-10-2010, 15:03
plsjust...... sounds like tomorrow is going to be a reallly busy day..lol..
I hope that it all goes smoothly sounds like you have a lot to organise...
With your heart burn so bad I would definately get some zantac and take 150mg. at this stage in your pregnancy it will do no harm and it is commonly prescribed when pregnancy heartburn gets sooooo bad.

well I had a little clean and throw out of my kitchen storage cupboard.. will need to get some new shelves I think so I can put my printer on the floor in it. so some measuring.. but I have a huge bag of things to throw out now...
still feeling queasy...maybe Im just hungry.. 2 pieces of toast and a handful of chocolate peanuts is all I have eaten... might have a snack and see if I am better.

plsjust1more
01-10-2010, 15:58
Micca-ok will give that a try as im in bad way this time with this acid.I feel ok the get up to do something & it burns again :banghead:Tomorrow will be a quiet day for me the motor registery office arent open for vehicle inspections so its gotta wait till monday.. That will be the big day.Ring around getting the CTP organised then wait for rego to be passed.Dh working most the wk end too :( was hoping he'd be home or my car on the road so i could go grab the 2nd cot & our mattresses but looks like thats not gonna be possibly.

:crying: Im being a sad sack today cause i feel like cr@p.

micca
01-10-2010, 16:09
cheer up plsjust... you will feel better soon.
You can get the zantac on script from dr or buy the 75mg tabs in the supermarket.

Its horrible having heartburn.

I have felt yukky all afternoon.. but Ive just inhaled 2 sandwiches and are beginning to feel a lot better. just exhausted.

where is everyone...are you and I the only 2 chatting this arvo??

Lissy Loo
01-10-2010, 16:30
Yes you 2 are the only ones chatting today:laughing:

Pls - not good that your Reflux is so bad, naughty reflux

Micca - you've productive today.

I went shopping at lunch time to Myer and bought a couple of ungly but comfy Maternity bras and 2 cute little suits for bubba :D

Hi ladies,

Micca - I am here too. I am feelign pretty crappy today too. Really, really tired and cranky... poor little DS is pushing my buttons as well. Thanks goodness for my sister who takes him for walks to get him away from his cranky, yelly mummy.

Pls - I used to get really bad heartburn with DS and I used to have icecream ALL the time. I made sure if I had anything spicy that I would finish off the meal with an icecream and that would usually stop the really bad stuff.

I knew soft serve was a no no but is normal icecream a bad thing too.... oh well, DS is quite normal :D

Hope you can sort your car out on Monday. I have a car here which I so rarely use that the battery keeps going flat. We usually go out in my sisters car.

I am so waiting to see what I am having (please be a girl, please be a girl) until I buy anything as if it is a boy (please no, please no) I have enough clothes and toys and sheets for him as this one will be born only about 2 weeks after DS was so all the seasons will be right...... but I want a girl.

micca
01-10-2010, 16:36
lissy... yay for shopping. why is it that all maternity bras are ugly? Ive taken to not wearing a bra on days off...well until I get a maternity bra anyway...

on the USA websites they are hard to find ones that ship to us,.

babygap.com
sierratrading.com
rei.com
sears.com

are my most common ones although I did not like baby gap.
I use sierra trading the most as it is the cheapest in USA has great cheap shoes, clothes, adventure wear and baby wear.(not a huge selection)

Mrs P
01-10-2010, 18:04
Donna so long as bubs is healthy. If you get yourself so worked up over a girl you might get quite down if you find out its a boy? Even if it is a boy your little boy will have a brother <3 <3

Lissy what do these 'ugly' maternity bras look like. I have just plain cotton ones, are they ugly? Lol I don't wear lacy colourful 'pretty' bras just comfy ones that you can't see under my clothes

Pls nasty hopefully you feel better soon. I just realised you had your daughter quite young, she is only 1 year younger than me. Can you imagine her having babies? :p

Micca 42 doesn't seem too bad.

Well another week gone. I had a really sh!t week this week I am ready to rip peoples heads off. Me being moody isn't helping me, I am so over seeing/hearing unappreciative mothers, they really just don't get what a blessing children are. Dh is back and I snapped at him the poor boy, I made it up to him with some nandos. My bum isn't going to thank me tomorrow

Micca- didnt see your last post before going out but we stopped at the chemist & asked about zantac & he wouldnt sell me any.. says its only been tested on animals not any pregnant humans so wouldnt let me have it.He said only mylanta, gaviscon in fluid form are safe in pregnancy, so anyway we got a stronger Gaviscon that actually has calcium in it that will hopefully keep the acid in my stomach & not let it rise  So just eaten dinner & about to have a big swig so it settles way before bed.

Lissy-yeh for some more bras & 2 little suits.Ive found a few ugly maternity bras.. i dont like ivory coloured ones or peachy coloured ones LOL

Donna- hope you get a little girl but im sure you'll be happy with no matter what if its healthy. You can eat normal icecream in pregnancy it just doesnt help acid reflux  which i wanted it cause it was soooo cold & soothing i thought.

MrsP- must be the day/week for moodiness, cause im a grump with a sore head well throat actually LOL yeh for nandos & making up for it with dh.She compained of feeling sick recently & i said dont tlel me your pregnant & we all laughed.... shes not really a maternal girl so dont think it will happen soon for her.She always said she didnt want kids too... so who knows??

Well we got my car after a stressful dh didnt want me to drive it anywhere but the towy was finished for the day so had no choice.Wow was lovely driving my car  its now safely back at home.Went to the chemist as i said before & he wouldnt sell me anything that wasnt fluid as there not pregnancy safe..:hair: but ive had dinner, eat mouthful hurt going down but i feel better & its cooled down so im not as grumpy.About to swig my gaviscon & settle this gut down way before bed.... im so tired with no nanna nap today & a ****e night sleep last night so hoping i sleep way better. Our sold house contract has gone unconditional with the buyers, so settlement date 25th woo hoo, there finance was all approved :smiliedance: All in all its been a productive day although feeling like sh$t put a dampner on things

micca
01-10-2010, 20:49
plsjust...woohoo for the house sale going through how good is that !!!!!.
and you got to drive you car too...yay.

Pharmacists are always cautious when it comes to pregnant women... they really wont give you anything.,
Zantac is a class C which means that it has been tested on a wide range of animal studies with no effects but only limited studies on women. Most rare side effects that will occur with these C drugs occur in the first trimester.
I would ask your OB on the next visit to prescribe you something as this heartburn is only going to become more severe as the babies get bigger. Too much gaviscon and mylanta can also have side effects when taken in excess...

mrsP...welcome to the cranky as hell club... I so feel the same... those darn hormones... I just feel sh1tty and cranky at everyone... grrrr...not looking forward to going to work on sunday and having to be nice to people and pretend I care...

Sigh got to go and do something for dinner... not really hungry but I am and I really cannot be bothered...I know I should otherwise I will fell bad tomorrow... Ill prob just end up making wraps as its easy.

 hi everyone

so we must have all been in Target today were we? I went and bought those muslin wraps for $6 and got some bibs too:yelclap: Didn't get the mattress protectors as I wanted. I am also getting a boori, so glad I held off.

PLS - yay for getting your car back. as for the acid reflex, I have had it most nights since 9 weeks, think thats what makes me vomit on an evening. I have worked out that an apple sometimes helps and 10 almonds. My throat usually starts to burn real bad and then I know it will be a vomity night, I feel so sorry for you as I know how much it hurts, it makes me cry:barf: it burns the crap out of my throat when i :barf: it all up, hope yr feeling better soon xxx

I didn't buy any clothes as I have been given 60 litre x 3 boxes full (u know those plastic boxes) some are boys and some are girls from new born to 2 years old!! I am going to sort through them as soon as I get the energy, and put them into boys, girls and unisex. As I am not finding out the sex, I will just have to wait to see which box I will need to use, but I will have the unisex box to take to hospital with me:smiliedance:

sorry for the lack of personals, shopping has taken it out of me, its my DH 30th birthday tomorrow and I have done nothing special for him at all, as I just have been so sick, I have not given it a 2nd though...........poor DH:hugs:

Laura - Hope you have a good day with DH for his 30th.

Pls - Thats awesome news about the sale!!!

Mrs P - they look a little Nanna like, i don't like those type of Bra's, i usually go for comfy or low cute cleaveage showing bras, might as well flaunt it if you have them. mmmmm Nandos

We went shopping last night for a change, went to Ikea and got some drawers for the study, a laundry hamper and a few other things. Getting into organzation mode. I need the spare room/study all cleared and nice and tidy as that will be out only spare room once bub arrives. This morning i'm going.....shopping:laughing: and then going to my friends to watch the the big game...again

micca- hope you had something for dinner lol

Laura-Take dh out for lunch or dinner as a surprise for his bday... always nice.Hoe he has a great 30th. Yes ive not had the heartburn as bad as i had the last few days.I usually get woken up at night when its in my throat/mouth & on the verge of vomitting but i take a big mouthful of gaviscon & sit up then i seem to be ok enough to go back to sleep, but this time its thoroughly burnt my throat but woken today & da da it seems to be way better.I slept basically sitting up though lol:laughing:

Lissy-Yahh for shopping & organising the house.Nesting  ohh another day out watching the finals too.We have a overcast almost spitting, cooler day so yahhhh for that.Might mean a comfy arvo nap for me.

Well YIPPEE :smiliedance: have woken with no reflux :fingerscrossed: i slept almost sitting up so wasnt all that comfy but its helped & my throat isnt on fire.Dh & i so relieved we got the house sorted this time rnd & theres no way it can collapse now without them losing there 20k deposit. So now to organise the stuff stacked up in the garages to come up here & yahhh to having our comfy outdoor setting finally.Dh said we might go buy the cots & mattresses tomoz... not holding my breath as it may not happen yet but getting excited.

Have a great day everyone

Nursery furniture-we are thinking boori newport (they have a newport forever which is a 4 in 1 converts to a single bed I've noticed)

I think that is most of the big things, I am so not sure which boori cot I want, I love the first sleigh cot they brought out
http://www.boori.com.au/Images/Products/Mid/Sleigh-Cot-LB-EO.jpg but for the look I am going for probably won't work.

Anyone have any suggestions before I go and blow some serious dollars today lol

I either want the Boori sleigh cot or the Boor Matilda - they are gorgeous aren't they?

As for prams, I looked at the bugaboo, but then I saw the strider plus and think I prefer that one.

Mrs P I cant attch the pictures, you clever thing, but i'm sure you all know the one.

Oh this is the exciting bit......the nursery!:yelclap::yelclap:

We need to get new carpet first then we will buy then pram and furniture, DH wanted to buy them today, I thought I would wait till after the 18week scan and we will just get the carpets 1st........

Mrs P
02-10-2010, 11:14
Laura the strider is definitely a cheaper alternative to. Check with the strider how wide it is I've heard a lot of people saying that it doesn't fit through certain places?

I love the sleigh (the first one they brought out) There are a few more modern funky things I like for nursery and the sleigh wouldn't suit.

I am loving this website to

http://www.cotcouture.com.au/home.html

Colours seem to pop nicer on white furniture to. I've got another few hours to decide

mrsP...ooooh you are going to spend some serious money...

Im going for the safensound meridian...I thought about the airbags..but i have a concern about them going off unexpectly or smothering... so I decided not to.
Im not buying a capsule cause the meridian can take from birth and they are only in the capsule for a few months before they are too big.

with the cot I would definately choose one thats a 3 in 1... so that when they are toddlers they can still stay in it. My girlfriends babies stayed in their 3in1 boori until they were nearly 3 cause it was so roomy.

Im going for a baby jogger pram cause I want something that is rugged and can cope with rough ground and snow.

good luck on the shopping...its so exciting.....

just made chocolate and apricot cookies for work... washing on , dishwasher going... its all happening.
nearly time for a cuppa and cookie when they cool a bit.

Mrs P

Micca bank account will be getting a workout

I don't think the platinum has air bags just air cushions, I don't think they actually blow?

Well the 2 in 1 converts to a junior bed, 3 in 1 means it also turns into a sofa, 4 in 1 turns into a single bed too which would be handy

Omg it is baby week on home and health channel and she is delivering with forceps he is bloody tugging on it so hard !

MrsP

We have the safe n sound meridian and it's great. Takes up a lot of room in the back but apart from that it's fine.

We also have the bugaboo chameleon we bought for DD1 5 and a bit years ago. We live in inner city melbourne and rarely drive and wanted something small to fit easily into shops cafes etc. It's been fine for both girls but it is difficult to collapse. I found it too hard to do if I was carrying the baby. Not sure if the mechanism has improved with the later models so maybe xheck you're comfortable pulling it apart and together again if you think you'll be getting it in and out of a car often.

Still in Perth. Finally bought a house - the one we originally ut the offer on. Very relieved we can now start planning the move.

Take care everyone

ok well Im in my work flat. I went to country target..not a great range to choose from but babette got $100 spent on her. since I spend soooooo much I'll do my list....lol:laughing:

cot sheet set
cotton wrap set
muslim wraps
cotton wool body suit x 2 (000, 00)
terry full body suit.. x 3 000
terry full body suit x 3 00
cotton full body suits x 3 00...not sure about them..might give them to a friend whom just had a baby.

in march we can often get snow and its really cold at night. april-may we are having minus 8 nights...brrrrrrr. While where I work it can still be 30 degrees..sigh.. 2 climates to live in just the difference of 600m elevation....(I live at 1400m above sea level and work at 800m)

and I also got a maternity bra..I had a selection of 2 sorts... did not try it on so I might end up taking it back as I gestimated the size.

so I think that that is my baby clothes shopping until I see what relos give me.
but living in 2 places makes it difficult as I will prob need extras of stuff to leave in each place.

was a bit nervous about sizes.. then the lady in target whom is as tall as I am told me her babies went straight to 00....eek... that could be me... Ill have to see how big babette is on the 20week scan..lol.. lets hope she has inherited mummies little head...lol..and long legs...

sonja... good to have feedback on the meridian..
Great news on the house..woohoo... did they accept your original offer??

Plsjust..hope you are having a relaxing day on the couch...yay for going for a swim.

petals...yay for a couch day...

MrsP...has that credit card burnt out yet???

sigh the bl00dy digital tuner is still not working after my retune...this is serious stuff especially when I can only get analogue on the TV...
might have to find the instructions and see if there is a site or number to ring for help.

will go for a walk later to get some bread...
Hope everyone is having a good saturday...
I see the pies are thrashing the st Kilda.....

Hi everyone! Hope you're not all experiencing the depressing weather we have in Sydney!

Sorry I have been MIA, I've needed a few days to get my head around the Cholestasis news, but now I'm starting to feel a little more positive about it all and just hoping for the best...

I spent the day back in baby mode by shopping for all baby's furniture with DH, and then hitting up Target afterwards! It did wonders for my mood, as I had been so down all week. We got our nappies, a bunch of unisex onesies, muslin wraps, bath towels, face washers, bibs. That place is dangerous, so many cute little things!

Mrs P, you're looking at similar stuff to us.

We are getting the Bugaboo Cameleon Special Edition in cream -
http://www.babykingdom.com.au/images/full/bugaboo_cameleon_special_edi_off_white_bass.jpg

Also the Safe n Sound Meridian tilt & adjust -
http://www.babykingdom.com.au/images/full/meridian_ahr_grey-frost.jpg

Boori Classic in White -
http://www.babykingdom.com.au/shopexd.asp?id=1840&section=4&cat=Cots+%26+Tidy+Drawers

Still deciding whether we'll go for a capsule as well, but we have pretty much picked out all the nursery furniture, baby bath, monitor etc...Now we just need to place the order!

nat1
02-10-2010, 16:21
micca, you did very well today!! I loved getting all those little things bought and out of the way!

Is everyone getting 0000 or 000 for baby's first few weeks? I know it's hard to tell now, but I went with 0000 for most of our stuff and now I'm worried it's all gonna be too small! I guess with this Cholestasis, odds are I'm gonna be early so maybe 0000 is the way to go?

with bubba clothes we are so lucky to have been given about 6 boxes of boys/girls and neutral clothing in 000, 00, 0 & 1's so I have jsut purchased 0000 but will have 000 on standby but def wont be taking any to hospital with me............im searching for a nice big bag to take everything to the hospital in anyong have one yet?

Mrs P
02-10-2010, 19:41
Pls funny you mention Target, I went there with mum for non baby related stuff then realised the sale was on, had a look around and bought a feeding pillow. Nothing else!

Sonja the bugaboo seems really easy to put together and put away. It is just a technique that needs to be learned lol.

Micca you did very well.. snow in march?? haha

Nat I looked at the limited edition one today but the off white base really put me off in terms of getting dirty so I just went with the normal one, i got dark grey base with off white top!

We don't have much 0000 clothes.

I did alright today, I got the boori newport in white, change table and 5 draw drawers. Bugaboo, Safe n sound meridian for DH car, bassinet. I spent 5k and still have my capsule, my car seat, and a chair for nursery so probably another 1500 to go. Big spendaaaaaaaaaaa! I figured we spent tens of thousands on IVF that never worked, at least this is going toward SOMETHING

My legs are sore from the shopping lol

micca
02-10-2010, 20:06
MrsP...woohoo for your spending spree... you go be spenda..sounds like you have nearly got everything that you need. now you get the fun of putting it all together and playing pretend with the pram... make sure you practice...lol..

Petals... wow how lucky are you to be given all those clothes. what fun that will be going through it all and sorting.

nat...you sound a lot like me.Ive picked everything out with online research now all I need to do is go and see the real deal and buy the stuff.
Im not buying much 0000 maybe just a hospital outfit... because I have the feeling that my tall baby might not fit it very long at all...

I went to the supermarket this evening to get some bread and then realised that I really did need to get some baby stuff for a friend...seeing her tomorrow. and Ill be working, I really forgot in target. and all my stuff is autumn winter orientated not summer. So ended up with some cute singlets and socks...of course while I was there I decided that I really liked some little cute bright striped socks for babette..lol... Im trying not to buy pink..as I think that everyone else will... actually I did not buy a single pink item today...lol..
But I have decided that I do not like the cotton rompers I bought today..so I will take them back prob tues and prob end up with some more bonds wondersuits...poor child they will be like a uniform for the first 9 months...great to sleep in as well as play.

off to look at monitors..my girlfriend suggested one with a video... sounds like a great idea when you live in a 4 storey house...

time for a cuppa...cant be bothered with dinner...had a banana.

Hi Girls,

Mrs P - We are getting the Bugaboo Cameleon in the Charcoal and sand too, also ordered the Meridian car seat and all the Boori furniture :)

Sonja - YAY for buying a house

Micca - You had a decent shop today

I am chilling at home now, been out all day. Did a little bit of shopping and then went to my friends place to watch the footy while our DH's were at the game, their team one by heaps so they would have looooved it. They are out celebrating tonight although DH says he will be on the last train home, we'll see.

Mrs P
02-10-2010, 20:22
Micca I will be practicing at home with that pram, I don't want to be one of those women who are playing with theirs like an idiot in the car park:laughing:

Video monitor sounds good, saves poking your head in the door all the time

Lissy you have good taste  The stupid lady that did my order put my 5 draw through and it came up as 'Boori KP 5 draws $699' and I thought that was way too cheap. I walked away, did some googling on my phone and she put the king parrot ones down ! They changed it in the end said lucky I picked it up, could you imagine if my order came and it was the wrong bloody draws!

nat1
02-10-2010, 20:26

micca - I have a feeling our baby will be tall too, it's been measuring 3 days ahead the whole time and my DH is quite tall...I'm average height (165cm)...maybe I should re-think all my 0000 clothes! I think you're clever to stay away from pink, I can imagine you will have a barrage of cute pink outfits given to you as gifts!

If you're looking at video monitors, the Oricom one is pretty good. Video is clear and also has night vision which is really cool as well! Speaker is good, you can hear baby clearly and you can speak babette over the monitor.

Petals - How lucky are you to have all those clothes for bubba! You will have so much choice and variety lasting you til your little one is 1! Not to mention the gifts you will get and the stuff you will buy yourself. I bought about 10 outfits from Target today, most of them 0000...I think I'd better swap some for 000 just in case!

Lissy - Yay for DH's team winning, I bet he is glad he went to that game! Enjoy your night in, I'm doing the same. DH is out for his mate's birthday and it's pouring rain here, so I am thankful I didn't have anywhere to be tonight...having a lazy one watching movies!

Mrs P, you did pretty good yourself! The feeding chair we got was around $450, but other ones we saw range from around 250-500. Make sure you get a nice cushy comfy one that rocks...you deserve something plush for the work you have been through!

I saw you said you got a breastfeeding pillow...I didn't see any today. Does yours go on your lap and bends around to your back?

Thanks for the tips Emma! Hope your little angels are doing well!!

Mrs P
02-10-2010, 20:49
Emma are they new or second hand? I figured if they are small 000 might just be a little bit big on them for a little while.

Nat I am tempted to buy a massage chair! My feeding pillow goes around my body

gottabecrazy
02-10-2010, 20:59
From memory and it was some time ago ..one got theirs seconded hand but it was in really good nic and the other got theres new ..and i think another got theirs from the states when the interest rate was high last time

Bridget is 2.4kgs and is in 0000 so if your bubs are measuring about 3kgs at your scans i'd say go with 000's and have 00's close by cause they will be in them quick smart

micca

So just the carseat, pram, baby bath.

02-10-2010, 22:06
Hi everyone!!

On the clothes sizes our DD was 4175kgs (9lbs 3oz) and 53cm long. We had brought her home in 000 and it was way too big. I can't recall how long she was in 0000 suits anymore as it was over 6years ago.

Everyone has been on plenty of spending sprees!! Well I guess we had a major baby related purchase.....we got our new (used) car!! We got a Kia grande carnival sports!! Very nice to drive and best of all we can now fit all our family in when they arrive!!

It has been raining here for the last 2 days and I love it!! So nice to be not hot and uncomfortable!!

Well I need to get packing for our trip for our scan!! So excited and a little scared about what will happen.

MrsP- nice shopping spree, bet you :D its so exciting.

Nat-wow you did really well too with our purchases.

Micca- Yahh for starting to buy things too.Its contagious..

Lissy- Did dh get the last train home ok ??

Bubba- i so feel like that too, yesterday was a little bit cooler & blowing a gale here ahhhh was so nice to not feel so hot & uncomfortable hey.I even said to dh whos dam idea was it to have twins hey !!!! He laughed & said yours....

:rolleyes:As for clothes my kids were 10pd13oz,twins were 6pd9oz + 7pd6oz,8pd13oz so good size bubs & all were in 000's at birth. The twins were the only ones that had 0000's.Hence why ive got 7 suits each in 0000 & the rest are 000 might be a big big but then they'll at least get the wear out of it & i figure its so hot here there not gonna want tighter fitting clothes on anyway.
Ive got the biggest moosh baby brain going... dh said how about i take you down the strand for Noodles for dinner & i said yeh :smiliedance: & i was so excited & saying yahhh i get san choy for dinner.... he kept looking at me & laughing, shaking his head going yeh san choy hey.... eventually he piped up & said where have we ever got san choy from... DER DH the noodle place... Ooops i was meant to say Chicken Pad Thai !!! Ohhhh he laughed n laughed at me... i was so blank it made no sense to me, i couldnt believe i had forgotten my other fave food  well forgotten its name.So got left overs today:D might be naughty & have it for breaky... so gotta pay the boys wages, bills (heaps of them) & dh said if we have enough left over spare without cutting it too fine (cause more $$ coming in monday) we can go get the cots, mattresses. he said we cant set them up yet we dont have the room with visitors coming this week.... cough cough..bullsh$t.Ive already made the room LOL:devil6:

Go the "Dragons" today !!!!!

Sonja
03-10-2010, 09:56
Yeah they came right down. You could tell they were really unhappy about the price so we know we got a good deal.

By the way we have a bugaboo frog not cameleon so maybe the mechanism is different. I was definitely one of those women in the car park struggling to put it together many times!

Mrs P
03-10-2010, 10:02
Sonja the ikea highchair rocks, sooo easy to clean unlike the fancy shmancy ones that cost $$$ are just a huge PITA to clean.

Pls go the baby brain

Hi Girls,

Just a quick one to update you all with our amnio results which we only received today (there is no FISH test for Trisomy 12 so we had to wait the full 11 days). The verdict is 'Confined Placental Mosaicism' which means the Trisomy 12 is restricted to the placenta. This is the best possible outcome given all of the possible scenarios. So whilst it means we may face potential problems as the pregnancy progresses, bubs does not have Trisomy 12. I can't tell you what relief I feel. Sorry I have avoided BH but whenever I logged on I would end up a blubbering mess reading about all your baby purchases etc.

So now I will read back as many pages as I can and catch up with you all. It seems at a glance there is some lovely nursery ideas being shared and some great names for bubs.

Hi everyone

Finally back from a full day in transit from Perth - huge day particularly given that daylight saving started today in Melbourne, so now dealing with 2 very overtired and cranky kids.

Forever - fantastic news - good luck and enjoy the rest of your pregnancy.

Lissy - the chair hasn't been a problem at all for us - there's a strap to secure them in it and as I started Scarlett at 4 months she was a bit little for it so I just put a cushion under her for a few weeks until she got her stability in the chair and she's been fine ever since. It's so much more hygienic than the cushioned chairs as they never quite get clean. I also like the fact the tray doesn't slide off as there's nowhere for little fingers to be trapped. With the cushioning provided by a nappy anyway I don't think the lack on cushioning in the seat is a problem.

Gotta run and get the girls into bed. Will catch up properly soon.

Sonja

If I got the sleigh in white could I make it boyish if I dressed the room up boy like if we had a boy next?

Sweede- Hope your day gets better & someone makes it a laugh & it goes quickly for you.

MrsP- what did you decide on your cots. You can always add really boyish stuff to white cots easily. My last set of twins had white cots this set weve got the cocoa wood colour.

Petals- 1 more sleep till we see the monkeys again :smiliedance: my scans at 11am this time so least it not a early wake up like the last ones & im only drinking 600ml of fluid this time.Half what they require but im carrying twins ffs so not gonna make myself sick like last scan.Plus mines gonna be with "Dildo Cam" anyway & they get you to empty for that.

Well monday hey..... big week for me.Dh coming home soon to drive me uptp RACQ to grab my CTP slip (after a much heated debate that i lost :crying: cause i said id just walk up as its at the end of our streeet on the main rd but NOOOOooo he wont let me walk 5mins up the road. Then once thats got, off i drive to the Motor registry office to wait for car to be inspected & given the greeen light to rego it.In the meantime our bed stripped & in the wash, wiped the floors over.Had breaky,coffee... now gotta organise the paper work to take with me.Waiting on my cot sheets & some crafty stuff to arrive in the mail .... guarantee it comes today while im sitting at the motor registry & i'll have to chase it up later today. Also want to go grab a 2 pack of mattress protectors for the cots from Target, have to sneak there somehow when dh goes back to work.

Pls I am loving the white sleigh, even the dark is nice but the white would look really nice once I paint all the walls etc it will pop. If we have a boy next I can just get a new cot and keep the rest of the furniture I figured.

How come they are dildocamming you??

04-10-2010, 09:51
MrsP- ive gotta get dildo cam at each scan now (scans every 2-4 weeks)to measure my "imcompetant cervix" to see if its shortening just yet as ive only got 2.47cms of it left & check its not opening up yet,as the membranes will bulge out & burst. So there doing a normal growth scan to check there coming along nicely then the dildo cam to check im holding them in nicely... :fingerscrossed: hopefully nothing has changed in 4 weeks but were getting further n further along now so things are going to change unfortunately sometime in the future the bigger n heavier that they get & its outta my hands but hopefully ive got another 4-6 weeks before they total bedrest me.

Morning,

Mrs P - Chosing furniture is a very personal thing, we chose the Boori Pioneer in Walnut. I like modern styles so the Pioneer was the most modern looking cot for me plus i prefer dark coloured wood rather than white as my house is all in neutral colours like creams and browns.

Pls - YAY for scan tomorrow.

Swede - Hope you get time to rest, i hear you on the tiredness. I'm having a tired couple of days. Working from home today and just can't get motivated, could easily just lie on the couch all day.

Micca - man these long days must kill you

I'm working from home today, didn't have any meetings. I feel really tired. Woke up at 4:30am because DH's alarm went off which was weird as the iphone time changes automatically so not sure what happened there, i took ages to fall asleep again and then struggled to get up, dragged myself out of bed at 8:15am and still feel really lethargic. Don't think i will get a whole heap done today. I'm annoyed because yesterday i noticed a bit of gunk on my glasses so i trued to wipe it off but it wouldn't budge, this morning i put hot water and detergent on it and still nothing so i think its a scratch and its quite big so i can't wear them :( i only got this pair 4 months so not happy. I am wearing my other pair, like the frame better but the lendes have big scratches too, not as bad as the other ones but very annoying.

04-10-2010, 10:16
Lissy- bummer re the glasses.... dh's are always covered in paint so there always fun to clean off... NOT.I woke at 7am & thought nahh im gonna roll back ova for a while but couldnt laid there thinking of all the things i need to do so up i got & now feel tired...

Micca- your hrs would kill me but i would imagine your used to it all now to a point.Your friend must have left by now so place to yourself now??

Still waiting for dh......:banghead: I could have walked up & been there for them to open at 8:30am & had part of this all sorted by now...the miss impatient in me is coming out  I hate waiting & dh is MR JABBER JAWS & always running late because of it :hair:

Pls that makes sense! Hopefully everything is looking fabulous

Lissy what a pain about your glasses, crappy about the early wake up call to. I had a sh!t sleep last night I'm not going into work today

I think I am going to leave my cot. It is still a nice cot and will be easier to move around the room if I want to change the room up.

Dentist this afternoon, very curious how my teeth are looking lol

Mrs P - I love love love the sleigh cot and never even worried about making it look boyish in the future if you are worried pherhaps go the dark timber!

Sweedie - Hope you feel better soon!

Pls - I am so excited finger crossed bubba is in a good mood and will let us know if it is a Paige or Jack! Yay for 11am mine is not till 2.15 again I have to wait for hubby to finish work!

Lissy - I hear you on the glasses its so annoying when they get something on them! I paid a small fotune for my last pair to get the lenses that dont scratch fingers crossed 2yrs on and they are still great but Im switching to contact as soon as bubs is born!

AFM - Taking it easy today had a bit of a scare last night, I was in alot of pain around my middle, Bubs was moving about no worries at all but it was like stretching cramps rang Ob they said see how you go in next 1/2hr and if it is still the same to come straight in it was more than likely just growing pains and as long as I can feel bubs it was fine.........well I made myself so sick and fell asleep (or passed out!) Woke up this morning and I feel fine! It was so strange........Im sure it is way to early at nearly 22 weeks to have braxen hicks but geez it was bad

Mrs P
04-10-2010, 11:16
Petals I've always loved the sleigh cot, the change tablet hat matches I hate though.

Have you seen those gooorgeous wall decals you can buy, so nice!

Have you rung your ob to see what it might have been? How scary at least you felt bubs move.

Still waiting for mine to move :(

Petals- I have been having pains too but funny enough the next day i do a HUGE #2 & it all goes away but few times there ive been woryring about it being labour pains but have been reassured they are down low not high but in saying that braxton hicks are higher up & yes they can start early,my mum had them every pregnancy (5 of them) from about 16wks on.Ive been told too if the contractions are more the 3 in any hr period to get it checked out as it may be signs of a early labour.Glad you feeling better though..

MrsP- GL at the dentist,im going to go after i have the bubs.My teeth are due for cleaning too but i'll wait & that can be my little escape after bubs are born.

Thank gosh dh is home.... coffee for him then were off.... looks like im gonna be spending lunchtime at the motor transport was hoping to have it all done n dusted by now

plsjust...YAY for getting the car sorted today.. lets hope that it all goes well.
Have you got your snack box all ready..lol
Not long until your USS..I guess you are feeling pretty nervous about it. lets hope your cervix is nice and stable and bed rest is still a little while away.

MrsP.. I so need to do the dentist..its on my list to do this month.
The cot you chose is lovely and probably a lot more practical than the sleigh. Im sure that you will find its great when you get it.

Petals...what a rough night you had.. Im sure it will be ok.. at least you have your uss to check it all out. Certainly worth asking the OB ...
you asked ages ago about static with the doppler... I get some if I dont use enough gel and it has poor contact.. if you are using moisteriser sometime the denisty of it can increase the static as it decreases contact... clear gels are best..Ie KY gel or uss gel.

Lissy... bummer about the glasses... I hope you get them sorted out as I understand how expensive the lenses are. I wear contacts and have found that I changed brands to a more water dense one and I have no problems with dry eyes now.

well all I can say is that Babette did not like the long work hours yesterday. I had a really sore lower back at the end of the day and was just so tired. I too had a crap sleep..I woke up at 2am feeling like I wanted to be sick and just dry retched and ended up watching TV until 3am.sigh.
So am really tired this am..
Went into work and sorted stuff out then called into target and swaped some of the baby stuff I got on saturday for bigger sizes... its such a rubbish range...they did not have much stuff in the sizes and no matress protectors...sigh.. Ill sort that all out on thursday when I go shopping...watch out Big W and target..lol...

Ive got so many jobs to do today...but Im so exhausted..the couch is looking sooooooo good....
time for a cuppa and hang more washing out... :D

Hi

Still recovering from a very late night getting to sleep and then being awake half the night so apologies for still not properly catching up.

Re cots - my 2c worth - we have a white boori cot - very plain and I really like it. The one thing I would change though is not to have slats at the ends of the cot - ie for the head and foot of the cot to be solid wood - we have the cot close to the door of Scarlett's room and when we open and shut the door the light is really noticeable in the cot which makes to hard to sneak out when you're trying to settle her and don't want her knowing I'm leaving. With a solid head and base it wouldn't be noticeable. Not a big issue and easily fixed by hanging something over the end of the cot but given you've ordered one with a solid head and base I'd stick to it. The sleigh cots also takes up a lot of room apparently but that may not be a problem.

Swede - hope you get some rest soon. I am so over being awake for up to 3 hours during the night every night.

Lissy - bummer about the glasses. You might find it handy to have 2 pairs once you have a toddler as both my girls are fascinated by my glasses and Lucy broke one pair when she was about 16 months old and I didn't have a spare which was a pain.

Pls - good luck for tomorrow.

Bubba - well done on the new car. We just got a new (2nd hand) car a few weeks ago to fit 3car seats across and I love it.

Gotta run - my sister has just turned up for a cuppa.

Take care

Sonja

Sonja - I actually do have a couple of pairs of glasses, 1 i never wear because they don't have the anti glare and i can't wear them with the computer etc. I wear glasses full time so will be veeery interesting when bubs comes along and wants to play with them all the time.

MIcca - I so wish i could wear contacts, my prescription is a complicated one. I have to wear Toric lenses but the degree of astigmatism is the oppisite of what most people have so only a couple of companies make them and usually 1 eye is good but the other not good because they don't make the cyl high enough, i try and go back every 6 months to trial more but never have any luck. I will try again soon though. Surely 1 day they will make some that are good for my dodgy eyes:rolleyes:

Mrs P - hope the teeth are holding up ok, my appt is in Nov and i am sure my Dentist will tell me i don't floss enough but i it made me gag for such a long time since being Pregnant and now i am out of the habit. oh well

Petals - I hope all is good and it is just growing pains, i think Braxton hicks can start quite early but not sure when.

I am in such a tired and grumpy mood today, so glad i am working from home. I got an email with some feedback about a document (that should have been given 2 weeks ago) and i don't agree with anything they have said so i replied and told them so  don't mess with pregnant grumpy woman today!!
I am cooking some very healthy wedges for lunch today.

petalsinthewind
04-10-2010, 12:51
pls I though that it was that too but I have not had any issue in that department yet! Ob thinks it may have been braxon hicks as it was higher up but if it happens again she wants me to come straight in so they can hook me up to a monitor to be sure! Also have USS tomoz and seeing her omn Fri anyway so she is going to give me the once over! Phew!

lissy.... I wear toric lenses as well and have quite large astigmistism. I find there are only 2 brands that make monthlys for me.. after pregnancy Im thinking about maybe some 12month lenses....
Go the potato wedges...woohoo..I hope you have some calcium with them...in the form of sour cream..

I have just mowed the lawn and whipper snipped...so tired now... the noise of the whipper snipper was pretty severe...cant seeing babette liking that very much..lol..
I think it will be my first and last lawn mow of the summer... its going to be someone elses job now...lol.. maybe the teenager accross the road.
I also just beat the rain...which is hilarious as we are in a drought area and it almost never rains...except the day I choose to mow the lawns and hang out 3 loads of washing ...lol..
just got to make the bed and we are done...vacumming...hmmm maybe later...lol...

Pls, I hope you are out happily buzzing around in your car! I can't imagine not having that freedom to go where I want and when so I am sure it will feel great for you to have some wheels again.

MrsP, ahhh the furniture delimea. I feel your pain. We had also chosen the Boori Newport in soft white, however, yesterday I started reading 'Save our Sleep' and it mentioned that the latest SIDS research suggested that you should not have a cot with solid ends (as the Newport does) as it restricts air flow. So now we are back to square 1 also. Boori have such a beautiful range that I don't think you can go wrong with any of them but I do agree the Sleigh may make the room layout a little more difficult.

Petals, That sounds really unnerving. Hopefully it was just bubs stretchng out making room for themselves.

Micca, You are keen doing the mowing! I can't even start ours  and I think I would lose appendages if I attemped to use the whipper snipper!

Lissy, That sucks re your glasses. Do they cover that under warranty? Dh has decided he needs glasses even though his eye test was fine. I think he thinks it will just make him look cool ;)

Bubba, How much fun is your new people mover  I had to laugh when I read you saying you never pictured owning one. Ahh the curveballs of life.

So came home again to put the number plates/ protectors back on her & the took off to Toys R Us.... shhhhh dh wont know ,so wont hurt him & I bought the matching half price changetable, mattress for that,a bath & a bath cradle. Ohh how the bloomin blazers am i meant to stay home now.......:devil6: I still want the mattress protectors from target, nappy bag from Big W & theres 2 outfits i want from Best & Less plus these blankies that were soooo cute.Even if they use them as floor rugs for tummy time.Need a haircut & a trip to the waxer.Ohh so excited :smiliedance: Mum rang she wants to come up again for a 4 day weekend so wants me to keep an eye out for cheap airfares like the $49 ones.

I just went for a quick lie down and woke up 1.5 hrs later...oops:o I'm just sooooo lethargic today, not sure why:confused:

Forever - ohh lucky we chose the Pioneer range, it has slats all around it. I don't think it would be covered as they would say that i did it (which i probably did somehow) but i'll take them back to check anyway

Pls - i have been looking on Ebay for stickers but they don't have the ones i like, i am very fussy with the colours of them. YAY for the car being back on the road, shopping time:laughing:

Micca - No calcium, just plain old fatty potato:p

I saw those airwraps that you were all talking about at Big W yesterday, are they meant to be safe to use as they breath?

Mrs P
04-10-2010, 16:56
Lissy Airwraps are the safe alternative to cot bumpers

Forever someone mentioned the airflow thing but one end us up against a wall anyway so there goes half of it anyway and then there is the other side, there are still two openings on either side and where the cot is in the room I don't see how it would make a difference anyway. I think the sleigh with the big back piece would be hard, the one with two open sides and just the sleigh ends would be like any normal cot.

Drama drama drama lol

plsjust1more
04-10-2010, 18:20
ahhh i just looked at the airwraps at Toys R Us they were $32.99. but i only want it to go across one end of the cot while there both laying across it just so little feet/legs dont get caught. Was thinking i could cut it in half & eventually use half down the end of each cot.Its just velcro & wraps back on itself to hold in place anyway..... easy.

my cots are open ended .. but understand mrsp's thinking when it placed against a wall anyway hmmm:confused:

Lissy-wow big sleep you obviously need it lovely, might be why you feel grumpy head today.Ive had days like that for no apparent reason.

well its 7pm and Im in my jammies showered and clean... what does that say..lol..
Im not sure if any of you are having this problem but my hairloss is like a shedding dog... I swear everyday I clean up a huge wad... and dont talk to me what the sink looks like after I have used the straightning iron.. my poor bathroom looks like some huge hairy man lives in it.... At the moment Im not minding having thinned hair as my hair is very very thick and its a lot cooler. But part of me wonders if there will be any left by the time babette comes...lol..
and while my hair ontop is shedding my hair on my legs is like yetis wife.., I had a little shave today in the event that my legs might be showing this week... and the poor razor was almost blunt by the time it got through yetis hair...sigh... Im probably half a kilo lighter..lol

so my original thoughts of a healthy dinner tonight were well meaning..chicken stirfry.. Took the chicken out from the depths of the freezer... after defrosting it I decided that perhaps it had been lost to civilisation a little too long and was a little inedible....lol..lol...lol..
So oven chips and fish for me..no veges in sight...I suppose I probably should have some brochili or something....or something...lol...lol...

so Im now clean warm, waiting for dinner... the vacum cleaning never got done..ha like I care tonight...thats what tomorrow is for...

morning ladies,

Pls - :yelclap:back on the road again. Spend big now before DH takes your CC off of you. lol

Jane - hope DH got off ok. happy packing for your trip.

Forever - :highfive: you can finally sit back and relax, start enjoying your pregnancy. Congratulation for the wonderful resuts.

Mrs P - on the cost of all your bubba stuff.

Miccs - :smiliedance: woo hoo, you have made a start to buying some baby stuff. Well done.

Petals - glad all has settle for you, take it easy.

big  to everyone i have missed.

AFM - been MIA for a couple of days, had a big weekend and went up the coast. lol. bought baby cot sheets and set last week also wanted the wall paper border to match and babys r us only had one part roll which the lady at the store gave us. So tried to get more, none left in Aust :(. But got on line and ordered the border and curtains and valance from US and cost me $150 with postage :smiliedance:. now have to wait for the postman to deliver. I also spent the weekend painting some prints for her room as i felt this would be more personal. Back at work today OB appt on thursday for official results of morph scan and to see bubs again. No days off for 2 weeks so boo hoo.

Sweede-hope you feel better today ater a day on the couch resting..Im thinking about getting the air wrap as well just to stop little feet poking through & getting caught.

Mcshad- ohh the nurserys coming along... you'll have to post piccies when its all done.Ours wont look much cause bubs will be in our room in 1 cot for a while & there room will still have the spare dbl bed for guests when there born(were gonna have a house full with grandparents) so cant really set there room up properly as yet,but will still ask landlord about painting the one feature wall next wk at our inspection.

Well how funny  ive almost drunk a 600ml bottle of fluid,2 coffees & low n behold just like last scan am busting totally to do a #2 AGAIN so went this time.... & let the fluid go as i was busting anyway,no way can i hold that for at least another hr.So now gonna just keep drinking bits n peices for the next half hr... wonder why its now triggering for me to do #2's on scan days.... maybe nerves... considering how little & often i go i aint about to stop my body clearing out when it wants to go  well time for a shower, wash hair & head to bank on the way to the scan if ive got time.

Pls - i only eva drink 500ml for any scan regardless of how much they tell me to drink. At the morph scan i even went to the loo 1/2 hour b4 and bladder had filled up again before scan. It will be a 2-3 week wait for the goodies to get here from the US so will have to wait till then b4 any painting is done.

Hi Ladies, Boy you have been a chatty bunch in the last few days.

Good luck for your scan s today girls. I only drink about 500 ml of water too otherwise I am so busting it hurts.

Forever - was so happy to hear your news. I have been thinking of you.

Micca - yay for your goodies arriving! I have also noticed I am losing more hair and it is quite brittle. I have long brown hair and my bathroom floor looks like I have brown carpet after i blow dry my hair. And I have heaps of flyaways now cos my hair is breaking from the heat of blowdrying. Ahhhh. I normally have really good hair too.

Mc Shad - Sounds like your nursery is coming along nicely. Can't wait to start doing ours

AFM - Well DH flew out on Sunday and the lucky bugger was upgraded to business class from Sydney to LA. How the hell did he manage that!!! I am so going to pull the pregnant card at check in. Going to say I need an Isle near the back cos of needing to pee and MS. Hopefully they feel sorry for me.
I have not even started packing yet. I don't have much to take cos nothing fits me and I plan to buy heaps over there. DH said our apartment is in a good part of town near lots of shop and the company have given us a car to use while we are there which is great. I won't be driving though. The whole "other side of the road thing" freaks me out.

jane - im with you re the driving in the US, I had a go at it once and ended up on the left hand side of the road. lol. DH barred me from then on. I just had to sit in the passanger seat and keep reminding him, "stay on the right" "stay on the right" i sounded like a parrot

Lissy- yahh for a day without commuting again.

jane- i'll cross everything they upgrade you :fingerscrossed:

Well my scan results wont be as excitting as Petals but all looking really good.Cervix is still 2.1 cms even with little miss being head down & pushing on it already.... its starting to open out so will be in for another scan in 4wks @ 28wks, then more then likely weekly after that. They are spot on with dates, him being 4 days bigger then the girl in growth so thankfully my boy is bigger then her, dont want a boofa girl & small boy lol  Our little boy is exactly where i thought he was he lays with his butt under my belly button laying across my body left side ,so his head is towards my back cause i can feel his little back running from above my hip to my belly button, hes a bit bigger then the length of my hand that not including his legs.Whereas she is head down facing backwards, kicking my ribs & stomach & anything else she can find. Its quite scary when the staff at the hospital tell you were getting closer to the business end of things  Anyway went shopping.... SOMEBODY STOP ME !!!! bought the bubbas another 2 nice outfits each, NO MORE !! Big W dont have the nappy bag i like anymore... so will keep an eye out for something,no rush. My cot sheet sets have arrived in the mail but are up the post office after 4pm today.... put the car away now so cant be bothered going back out but will grab them after my OB appointment tomoz & wash them & make there cots up.Am so tired only now just had 3 slices of raisen toast as the scan took 1 hr then shopping & haircut... yipppee its short short agian & feels great.Although she didnt cut it short enough so had to make her re-do it shorter... she then said ohhh short hair really suits you,you have the right face for it :hair: Oh also bought myself some singlet tops from Big W & another pair of short shorts, navy ones.My singlets are all way too tight now & make me itch so bought bigger ones in size 14 plus there not a fitted singlet so will fit right through now i hope.

Micca - Its awesome when you start to feel them moving from the outside, i love it :cloud9:

Jane - ooooooh i'm soooo jealous!! Have an awesome time over there and shop til you drop girl!! I was the same with the driving, DH did it all when we were there, he did really well.

Pls - Glad things are going along nicely, i don't know how you can tell what a babies back feels like:laughing:I'm sure i have waaaay to much flab on top of my belly to feel actual baby bits yet. I'm getting my hair cut off short again next Monday, when i say short i mean Boy short

Girls i just added my 24 week bump pic to my album :)

plsjust1more
05-10-2010, 16:53
Lissy- we can tell cause he sticks his butt right out most the day/night right next to my belly button on the left side & as i feel along towards my back you can feel the length of him & his little back.Ive tried getting photos of his butt sticking out but doesnt show up as good on camera.I cant get behind it enough to show the extent of the bum.The ob said id feel where there exactly positioned & thought yeh right looney.... but hes right but i cant pick the girls position only can tell where her legs are by kicks & even then not 100% its not her arms wailing rnd.Probbaly alot easier to feel with twins cause theres not nearly as much room as a singleton has got to spread out. My hair is short like less then an inch on the back & spiked but longer fronts, gel'd down.I feel so good,i feel energized again as i wasnt enjoying trying to grow it & it never would sit nicely plus no way can i be bothered with fussy hair when the twins gets here.

Lissy - Hope you get a better sleep tonight you poor thing. Luckily you have the option to work from home, can you imagine having to go into the office after such a shocking night's sleep! I tried to look at your bump pic, do you know why I can't see it?

Micca - You gotta love shopping online, so convenient! I got a parcel today of the most gorgeous baby clothes that I'd ordered last week, I love it! How exciting to feel babette move from the outside...I'd just love to feel more than a flutter already!!

Sweede - Enjoy your well deserved sickie! Hope you have had a relaxing day!

McShad - Looks like you have had a busy weekend, how exciting to get your little girl's room all ready! DH and I are hoping to start the baby's room this weekend...we need to empty all the stuff we have in there first!!

Jane - How lucky is DH to be upgraded! You should definitely play the pregnancy card when you fly out to meet him! Enjoy your time there!

Petals - Thinking of you today, can't wait to hear how you went!!

AFM - Had a very fun and busy weekend filled with baby shopping, catching up with friends and watching the footy! But my back is paying for it today with my sciatica the worst it's been! Can't wait to see OB next Tuesday to discuss the Cholestasis at length, as well as possible fixes for the sciatica!

Pls - I will ask OB about physio on Tuesday. I need something to give me some relief, it hurts me to laugh!! I hope your backache eases also. YAY for being back on the road finally! You must be ecstatic!

Micca - It's funny, someone else mentioned acupuncture to me today. Apparently there is a good acupuncturist near where I live which is convenient so I might give him a go! While acupuncture didn't help me on my TTC journey, I still do believe it helps in many other ways. On the internet shopping - a girlfriend sent me some nice websites...some things are quite pricey but I just couldn't resist the little grey and white striped jumpsuits and a few other items on the Infant Boutique website. Here are the ones my friend sent me:

Petals - YAY welcome to club Blue. Very exciting.

Nat - I think the reason you can't see my pic is because you need to be a contact, i have added you :) Sorry you are feeling so crappy

Mrs P - at your poo baby

Angela - Glad to hear all is well. I have the GT on the 13th, mmm looking forward to that.

Well i had yet another crappy sleep last night, DH was at it again and ended up back on the couch at 2am, i'm soooo over this and not sure what to do next. He has been to a sleep clinic overnight which showed nothing and has been seeing a Hypnotherapist and obviously that isn't working:hair:. Anyway i'm back in the office today, have an appt to have my hairy gorilla legs waxed, they are shocking

Good morning all:wave:

I hope you are well...I am soon off to work :crying:...I could be home all week I think....

Nat sorry you feeling a bit scrap...most of the time the pain is from pelvic girdle pain (PGP) and not sciatica (unless you normally suffers from it) ...but probably work the same way in to do something about it...here is some tips...

What to do about pelvic girdle pain during pregnancy: Acupuncture is an increasingly popular way to alleviate all kinds of pregnancy ills, including pelvic pain. But if you need relief right now and acupuncture isn't a handy option, here are other things to try:

Use a heating pad on the most painful muscles or joints.
Purchase (and wear) a pelvic girdle, aka a prenatal belt, which can provide support for your belly (and relief for your pelvis).
Sleep on your side with a pillow between your knees to keep hips aligned.
If pain is severe, talk to your practitioner about pregnancy-safe pain relievers or muscle relaxants.

Lissy - I can't see your pic either??????

Petals ---:smiliedance:..yay for your little boy...so glad for you!!!

All the best to the rest:sunshine:

Lissy - Thanks for adding me, I finally saw your belly - absolutely gorgeous!! Looks amazing! Sorry to hear it was another bad night for you...It would be great if they could find a fix for this, you need your rest!

Sweede - I've never heard of Pelvic Girdle Pain? Sometimes I get pain low in my pelvis, almost like my back pain, but it's at the front! Feels kind of bruised. Could this be Pelvic Girdle Pain? Sorry you have to go to work today when you're not feeling good...are you any better today?

Lissy-stop rubbingyour legs ppl will think youve lost the plot.poor you & dh... that would be hard to live with.

Petals- love your feeling content finally & now sit back & relax...

 everyone else, looks like were all having shocking sleeps, i woke at 4am & tossed n turned all morning feel like crapola now.

:crying: Ok had OB appointment..... she's not at all happy with my cervix. When a cervix gets to a min amount of 2.5cms they ceasar you asap...for the safety of the mother & bubs, well mine has measured 2.1 cms twice now so wayyyyy shorter then they would allow for me to carry them.So im on full alert for any pain low down in the pelvis(contractions), waters breaking or bledding, any discharge thats not ordinary. I MUST RING HOSPITAL ASAP !!! If i was another 4 wks along they'd take them now.He doesnt believe bedrest will help at all with two in there cause the pressure is far greater with two then 1,theres a VERY HIGH risk my waters willl break at any time.So must take it as easy as i possibly can.My dizziness is caused by my blood pressure being low & ive just got to be aware of it & sit as much as possible espec when it starts.Ive gotta have my GTT test in 3 weeks 2hr (fasting overnight) one YUKKO.They make me sick normally so not looking forward to that & i know its gonna come back bad cause they always do,my system doesnt cope with a large sugar hit at all but as i explained im being very careful with my diet.Scan again in 4 weeks if i make it & then appointment with OB after that.So basically each day now is another day to tick off holding these bubbas in....praying i can make it as far as possible & there not born before Jan... well thats what im talking myself into so whether it works or not is another thing. So wasnt a great visit today... she put the wind up me & didnt have dh to fall back onto for support, so no more running rnd for me gotta look after these pair & try to keep them in as long as i can.So gonna grab some lunch & put my swollen feet (i think thats whats on the end of my swollen legs lol) up & have a nap.Got to see bubbas again though today... hes switched ends & has his head at my belly button today but shes still head down same possy.Gotta not rub his little head to hard lol

Sweede- will do lovely

Nat- you'll probbaly find that is the cause of the pain especially at the front. My pelvic bone at the front feels like ive ran straight into a corner bench cupboard or something.. asked OB today very common in pregnancy it will magically disapear after bubs is born. Some days its worse then others & its just the pressure from bubs & all internals.

Sonja- Ahhh that gives me some hope then, thanks for that little bit of info, will be truley happy if we can make it to that point.

MrsP- i am......

plsjust... oooh that is sooo scary news.. I know you were expecting some bed rest because of the cervix but this is the scary worst case. Lets hope that the house arrest goes well... their is a huge difference between 27w and 30w (which has a 90% survival rate) so lets hope you can hang on at least 3 more weeks...

My cousin had her first at 25 weeks due to cervical incompentence hes now a huge tall child whos in the top part of his class...and you would never know he was so premmie... So I know that its scary but every week does make a huge difference in viability..

tomorrow is my 20 week morphology scan at 10am and then midwive visit at 11am... then I will have about 5hrs to try and get to the babyshop, toysrus, target..all at different locations of course across canberra..lol... wonder when lunch will be in there?? oh and a visit to the holy temple of bunnings to pay homage... lol..lol.. and to cap it off a 250km drive home..sigh.... Ill see how I go if I am too tired I will stay in the work flat overnight and drive home friday... so a huge day... must remember water.. not even sure if I need a full bladder for the uss...
got to remember to bring everything.

so Im on the couch now, had a yummy home made chicken chowmein dinner.. sooooooo good... but not much carbs in it so Im hungry still...sigh... will have to go and have a yoghurt.
