we are going to set a date for next year, and i have no idea where to start or what you need for a wedding!!!!

on a budget!!

lucky ive been looking at a few things, and have a start.

i found an amazing dress on ebay for only $200
my sister will be making

invitations
bombaneries
wedding cake

my friend does photograpy, so will be doing our weddings photos at a good price!!

a talented friend said she will do my hair and make up!!

obviously the biggest price is the venue and reception, my mum had one a few years ago that come with a choice of 3 different wedding places they used, and she got to pick out her chair covers and table centres all within the price.

so other things will be

wedding rings
dj

what do you need to organise for paperwork and things to get married?

i really am clueless:rolleyes:

any info will help thanks in advance!!

PS: IM EXCITED!!!!!!

Congratulations, planning a wedding is so so exciting. With the paperwork I think all you need to do is work out who will be marrying you ie. church or marriage celebrate etc. And they will sort of the rest. When we got married (church) at the rehersal we had to sign an intention to marry but previous to that we just provided info to the minister like parents names, places of birth our birth certificates etc. And they do the rest, easy peasy

Good luck

Hi there

I just got married on Friday :cloud9: and we did it all on a relatively small budget. I havent worked it out exactly but I think it cost us a little over $3k for 20 people.

Rough costs:

Dress $500
Shoes and bra $200
Tux for DH $200
Rings $600
Celebrant $600 (ouch)
Cake $20 max - made it myself, mum decorated as I have been sick
Invitations $20 or so - made them myself
Flowers $200 - these were my one splurge hehe
Hair $150 inc trial
Make Up - did myself
Reception $800 inc drinks and champagne toast. Being a small number of us we just had it at a nice local restaurant.
Bon Bonnierre $50
Plus a few $$$ for things like my pearl earrings, a birdcage wishing well etc.

we had a 'cheap' wedding (well 3 of them)

our Main Aussie one was $3k for 80 people.

costs:
photographs $100 (we did our photos the day before, then gave out discs for our guests to share their photos, and printed the best ones for our album)
Dress (x2) $150 including dressmaker alteration
Shoes and lingerie $50
DH wore his tailored suit and his brother/best man did the same, then just matching shirts $50
Rings $100 (mine is a family heirloom, so was free)
Celebrant $500
Cake was a gift, my sis is a pastry chef (usually $50 for a simple one)
Invitations/place card $100 and I made them myself
Flowers $0 - we picked them ourselves from the gardens at the nature park (with their permission)
Hair & Make Up $0 for me &bridesmaid - did it myself
garden hire $500 but included seats, aisle set up and the honeymoon suite/breakfast for 2 nights (plus we had emus and kangaroos in our photos for the overseas family :) )

Reception $400 (including beer/softdrinks) plus $200wine (3 crates at mates rates, with personalised labels)

and DDs awake :)

thanks girls. keep em coming!!

i have been looking at places online, and honestly i had 2 "dream places" but they are just to expensive.

so i found a winery near by :D and the prices are amazing!!!!

you can hire the garden for the wedding ceremony for $300, then $300 for room hire, then you pay the ammount per person for food and drinks, which i think was about $60-$70 per person.

the place i wanted is $130 per person!!

ok heres my other problem..

can you get married on a weekday?

i want to get married on our Anniversary next year which is on a wednesday. so im thinking a 6-6:30pm garden ceremony then reception which is the place. not like some weddings where you have to wait around or travel.

it is extremely close to christmas!! but this is what i want;) and i think we will be under 50 people. very close friends and family only.. so with enough notice given everyone should understand, and the winery isnt far away from where most of the people we know live. plus most places have to be over by midnight, so even if people have to work the next morn its do able!!

i found a dress that i am in love with, and its gold!!! beaded, lace, long, amazing.. they sell it in white aswell, but i just dont like it.

i have long dark hair and want to have it softly curled, and a red flower behind one of my ears, red and gold being my theme :D festive even!!!:p

red bridesmaid dresses.

white table cloths and chair covers, with red and gold bows.. oh my its all i can think of.

the winery sounds lovely, and a weds sunset wedding is an interesting idea. I can picture fairy lights and candles.
I was married in red (the best colour for Chinese) and loved it, plus my dress was worn 3 times.
that's a good price for meals/drinks/ceremony too.
