View Full Version : Is it positive? Am I finally pg!?

I am kind of excited but dont know if I should get excited yet. I did a pg test this morning (cd27 on a 28-33 day cycle) and a very faint positive line came up. The problem is that the negative didn't really show properly though. Its a clearblue test (dont know if anyone is familiar with them) and instead of having a double line it has either a (+) or (-). There is also an end window with a line that shows up saying the test was done correctly.

This last line came up, but I am assuming that the (-) should still be really bold. Instead, the (-) was really faint, and there was definitely an intersecting line... but only visible when you held it just so and in a particular light.

Am I going mad?! Am I trying to see a line that isn't there? My fiance looked at it - first in the bedroom and he couldn't see it, but then he looked at it in the bathroom light and came back saying that he thinks it is positive.

Maybe I should just wait a few days and do another one... I'm just so impatient and anxious!!! Cause my last one was an ep I have to get an internal u/s as soon as I get a positive reading... Arghh!!! Has this happened to anyone else?

Hi Ally84,

I know the anxiety. I have just found out that I am preggas too and it is so stressful.

Did you do the test with the first in the morning pee? (sorry if too graphic). If you're not sure then buy a different brand and try again in a couple of days

Good luck!!

Stacy

Hey Stacy,

Congrats on your bfp! (I wrote a congrats in your thread too :D )

I did use the first morning pee - and it was with a clearblue - the most expensive one on the shelf!!! I tested a few days too early - Im not really expecting af to roll around (if she comes) for about 4 more days!!!

But cause its fathers day today I kind of hoped that there would be some joy for my fiance and I... Oh well - maybe there will be in time for next Mothers day!!!

Cheers,

Stacy

Ally

I am sure that that will be the case. I bought my husband a little something to say happy fathers day. He thought it was pretty cool.

There is a book out at Dymocks - I'm not sure exactly what its called, but its aimed at the father - I have that many books - why shouldn't he read up too!!! I'm planning on buying it for my fiance when we FINALLY get a positive...

Is this your first pg?

Hi Ally

I bought quite a few books on Ebay and in the book shops. One was for my DH but as yet he hasn't opened it (and I don't think that he will - Not much of a reader).

Now for my back ground.

I am 24 and DH is 25. We live in the South Burnett and got married in Sept last year. We have been trying for two months for Bub #1. We are really happy and have told all of our closest friends and family (we were going to wait but couldn't!!! :D ) My parents are probably the least happy about the new arrival. I think that they will come around soon as my mum has been clucky for months (this will be the first grandchild on both sides of our family).

What about your self.

Love the bio thing - lots of fun.

Well, I'm 20 and my fiance is 25 too. We have set 3 wedding dates so far - he's in the navy though and each time we have set one we have been told that he wont be here!! Wouldn't quite work without him I figure. We're now putting wedding plans on hold til early 07. We live near Coogee, NSW.

I had an ectopic pregnancy about 10 weeks ago now and I was 7 weeks along. Sad to lose our first baby, but we're keen to give it a brother or sister! This was the first month that we have tried so I'm anxious to find out!!! Not only to find out if we're going to parents, but also cause I have to get an internal u/s as soon as we get any type of positive reading to make sure its in the right place.

When we found out we had JUST told DH's folks on the weekend who were thrilled, and also told my immediately family too as well as 2 girls I worked with - lucky I told them - they were able to call me an ambo when I fainted at my desk! This time round we're not going to tell anyone until 3 months - just incase.

IF we have conceived this month - and this morning WAS a positive result, then I will be due on the 15th of May next year - we'll be due about the same time!

Yay! Isn't baby-making exciting!?!?!?

It would be cool if we were due at the same time.

I think that it is good to tell a couple of peple who are close to you so that if anything bad does happen they will understnad why you are down and support you while you recover.

Am really looking forward to going on this journey together (even though we are hundreds of Km appart!)

Hey Ally!

I know of the desparation to see that positive on a test... Try not to get your hopes up to high just yet! If it would me i would go and buy another test and do one tomorrow morning or in a couple of days and see what your result is... :D

Keep your chin up Chickie! And remember PM if you want to chat!

P.S. And congratulations on your positive Stacy! Good luck for the rest of the pregnancy!

Hi Ally,
Hopefully this is good news for you, but I also did the clearblue test and had the exact same result as you - and the result of that is now tipping over her toybox near me on the floor!!
It took another TWO home tests ( on the same day but using a different brand just to be sure) to convince me that I was actually pregnant. :p
My fingers are crossed for you! :)

Hi Ally,
How confusing and anxious for you. If I was you I would buy another brand and test tomorrow morning. Fortel cames in a pack of 2 so if you get a bfn tomorrow, try again the next morning. You will be closer to when af is due so you might get a stronger reading.

The book I think you mean is "So you're going to be a dad." I bought this for my Dh, on the day I got my bfp, he read it and actually liked it. It's written by a dad for dad's so it speaks to them in their lanaguage.

Good luck with the test and I'm sure you will let us know the results :)

Hi guys - thanks so much for all your support.

It was a positive, just not a big fat sticky one. It turned out to be a missed miscarriage. But thats okay! It wasn't an ectopic and its good news for me - it means that my remaining tube is working! Just means that my body wasn't quite ready for it.

Fingers crossed for this month round! My fiance is becoming more and more clucky each day, and unless we succeed in the next 5 months then we are going to have to wait a year! (cos he wont be here... not into the frozen stuff!!!)

Good luck to everyone else - and sticky baby dust to all!

Cheers,
