im 25weeks pregnant and have had a silly annoying cough since wednesday night. it only seems to be getting worse, cant get into the doc til monday unfortunetly.
So i would like to know, can I take a cough suppressant like benadryl(its what i have here)? just for tonight so i can get some much needed sleep?

Most cough remedies aren't safe when preg.
What sort of cough is it? There are various natural things you can try, but they depend on whether it's a dry cough or a productive one.

Its a dry cough( one of the ones that tickle your throat and are oh so annoying)
but im also coughing up a little bit of gunk too.
there seems to be so much conflicting info on cough medicines when pregnant

Keeping the air warm and moist for a while should help... either a vapouriser, steamy shower, or breathe over a bowl of steamy hot water for a while (towel over your head and bowl to keep the steam in).
Strange though it sounds, a cup of chamomile tea seems to help as well, and so does a cup of sage tea (with a good dollop of honey).
Best not to stop a cough if you're bringing stuff up though or you risk an infection.

Eucalyptus? Yep - that should be fine as long as you're not putting it on your skin or actively inhaling it direct from the bottle.
Do you have any lavendar oil? This is great to put a few drops on a hanky and pop it in your pillowcase.

I had the same cough a few weeks ago now and it was extremely annoying not to mention not hte best on my already strained pelvic floor.
I went to the chemist and bought some Bisolvin tablets. They worked a treat. They turned my cough into a productive one and allowed me to get rid of the gunk that was in my lungs causing me to cough. Felt much better after a day or 2.
Goodluck
