my youngest bub has been unsettled form the day my milk came in. constant screaming, and just a nightmare really. when he was 13 weeks my gp tested him for lactose intollerance, the results came back wednesday as a positive so i hav had to go from bf to ff a lactose free one, at this stage its for 2 weeks then to see the gp agin and discuss the changes and see if im able to bf occasonally ect. im a bit upset by it but i know how much he has changed in such a short time hes gone from a baby that wouldnt sleep all hed do is scream to a baby that actually sleeps eats and plays. his grren poos have almost stoped compleatly. has anyone else gone through this and could you go back to bfing?

I cut dairy from my diet and had no problem with breastfeeding fulltime. Perhaps this is an option for you?

I cut dairy and soy from my diet while bfing and bf for 10 months. I won't lie it was incredibly difficult, I lost a lot of weight, was sick and run down a lot especially as I fell pregnant again when ds was 5 months... It is possible to do but in all honesty I'm not sure if I would do it again if I had my time over... It was a very difficult, depressing and stressful time for me. When I used to slip up on the diet and cause my ds to poo blood the guilt was incredible.... Good luck w ur bub... Poor lil mite

if your bub is li cutting out dairy will not help at all bm is very high in lactose . it could be that bub has some tummy lining damage and has secondairy li which will go when his lining heals . my dd1 is li as well as cmspi and dd2 is cmspi but not li .

Hey,

If its true LI then breast feeding wont be an option ( please NO ONE shoot me for this read the entire post first) the reason being is breast milk has a very veyr high lactose content in it with or with our you having lactose in your foods. If it is lactose over load that has causes a tmeporty intolerance then you may be able to go back to breast feeding, I gues you need to deterimne if it is a true intolerance or an over load, genraly with true they not only get the green frothy poos but also get very dehydrated that required hospitisaion for fluids.
I would call the GP pn monday and get a urgant referal to a pead so that you can with them determine weatehr is is lactose over load or intolerance.

Cutting out dairy and soy is a greaat idea if dairy or soy protein are the problem how ever if lactose is the problem then thats not going to help KWIM

Good luck
