meat on pizza

DH has gone to get a pizza for lunch:shame: . With the whole listeria/deli meat in preg, is it still ok to eat the meat on the pizza? or is it ok b/c the meat is sorta cooked?

well i eat meat from the deli:D
but listeria dies when exposed to the normal heat of cooking, so get in to it:smiliedance:

after working in the food industry for a while way back... my experience tells me,

you should be generally ok.
IF it is well heated - try & eat it hot, not just luke warm, thats when the nastys are most dangerous..

[i say generally, because if the meat is already infected by something or contaminated by bacteria -from humans etc- heating wont always kill everything, & obviously the risks are greater when preggas]

for your own sake pleeeez be very wary of deli's tho... cold meats in delis are reeeeeally risky... even when you arent pregnant!...:thumbsdown:

just started on the pizza - supreme, it's hot and so damn worth it! yum yum.
