I would be calling your care providor or heading to the ED
This happens to me often and my Drs and midwives have never been concerned but I always rang the midwives when it was really red not just blood stained. Often once it was at that point I was severely dehydrated and needed a drip anyway so I was sent it.
You poor thing :hugs: it's just so awful :(. Call your care provider and let them know xx.
Thanks, it was red but cause i havent eaten or drunken(word?) anything i could only get the bile up, my body just wouldnt stop trying, thats when the blood came up. I dont feel dehydrated. My Dr wont have any appt today and my next appt isnt until the 4th.

When was the last time you ate something or drank something even if you thee it up? For the first 20 weeks of my pregnancy I ate something and threw it up very quickly and then the only thing I threw up was bile as I barely ate a thing. Even now first thing in the morning is a dark brown bloody bile. It doesn't bother me bow because I'm able to eat and drink after and get a half decent diet but if you're unable to eat and you're throwing up bloody bile I'd head to the hospital if your Dr won't see you.
Thank you Leisa. Usually i eat then about 30min throw it up, thats while taking Zofran 8mg, Maxalon every 4hrs and B6 three times a day. Yesterday i didnt take anything but the Maxalon and kept down breakfast, lunch (which tried to come up but i only got blood) and dinner stayed down too. This morning i havent taken my Zofran or Maxalon yet and i havent eaten anything but threw up bile (bright yellow) and blood as well. I cant eat anything usually apart from tomato soup at night time, which makes me feel horrible so im sure if i move off the couch it would come back up too. The hospital gave me Stematil suppositories to use so i can eat but they are catagory C so i dont want to use them, and the Stematil inj made me feel horrid when i was in hospital. Ill ring 13health and see what they say, though they usually just say go to hospital.
(ps sorry for the novel)
Yes happened to me ALL the time. I saw my doctor who said it was burst blood vessels in my throat from vommitting so much. It calmed down at times, and happened throughout my entire pregnancy (including once during labour... the joys!).
Def go and see someone if you are worried.
Thank you Herchy that makes me feel better, there isnt heaps but it is red. Ill see how i go today, if there is more ill go to ED.
Thank you everyone xx
It's sounds fine to me but the rule is always if your concerned call or go in. 13health is a good idea, they'll let you know if you should go in and what time frame. I really hope it stops for you soon, it's b1oody awful. I'm well and truly over it.. Only 14 odd weeks to go lol.
Good luck xx :hugs:
No worries. I was fine and the kids were totally fine.
Mine wasn't huge amounts. It was pretty much always when I brought up bile (how nice is that feeling??!!) and it was just streaks through it. If there's a fair amount, I'd be inclined to see someone or even call your hospital and speak to the midwives ;)

I used to get panic attacks and throw up and I threw up blood alot I had lots of tests done but it was just all the being sick was damaging my throat. That being said I'd still get it checked out.

Happened to me as well. I was told it's because the vomiting was causing damage to the osophagas (can't spell it today lol :o) but like Leisa I was put on the drip at that stage anyway.
It's horrible isn't it, and it's the first thing I think of when people ask if I'd have any more kids. No way in the world!

Hi Ladies, I am currently 18 weeks pregnant and experienced vomiting blood a few weeks ago, but I was assured by my obstetrician that it was just from aggravating the throat and nothing else.
I am currently taking zofran 4mg a day for persistent vomiting and nausea which lasted 9months during my first pregnancy (and looks like it will be that way with this one)
and the doctor wants to put me on prednisone so that my appetite picks up and I feel better.
Has anyone taken prednisone or knows any pregnant women who have?
