Does anybody get this? I'm having this pain that I vaguely remember I used ot get midcycle back when I wasnt on BC because i wasnt 'active'.
its this sharp little stabbing pain just inside my pelvis on the right side, kinda right next to my bladder. I'm on cd15 and I also have a little lower back ache. The stabbing pain comes and goes, and for the most part isnt too bad, just a little uncomfy.
Is this ovulation pain?

 this is how I would know I was ovulating as I would get it around days 13 - 15 each month and again occasionally when I had AF.
I have even had it during my pregnancy at times, it has only ever been on the one side though.
I was also fully checked-out inside and all is ok so it's "just one of those things" they tell me.
I ovulated for the first time (was on Clomid) and experianced ovulation pain.
I knew from scans the mature folicle was on my right side and on ovulation day i had stitch like pains on and off for most of the day. I also got it the next two days although no where near as bad or as often.

Me too!! I'm glad you posted this as I thought it was weird that I only ever got it on the left side. Maybe I am not as abnormal as I first thought :D

I'm only getting it on the right side at the moment, apparently (according to stuff i just read on the net) its on the side thats producing an eggy.
Im so excited haha, what is it about TTC that makes you start to take pleasure in the most uncomfortable sensations??? :D

I never use to notice but I have been paying close attention to my cycles lately and have also had cramping in the right side when I am ovulating. It is listed as a sign of ovulation too.
I am about to O (hopefully) as I am on cd 12 today. I have heard people talk about O pain and i must say, I have never experienced it (I hope this does not mean i don't O  ). I am going to look out for it this cycle - maybe I experience it and never payed attention to it..... mmm.....
Do all people experience O pain????

Everything I've read says around 20% of women experience O pain, so dont worry if you don't get it :D
Phew..... thanks Alatariel. That's reassuring!

I have experienced ovulation pain since I first started my AFs. The pain for me swaps sides, obviously depending on what side I'm ovulating on, and the pain is intense. I can hardly walk and always need to take pain killers. So don't feel badly if you don't get it!
Mittlesmertz
Mittlesmetz is the name given to the sensation some women get during ovulation. This is a pain that occurs in the lower part of the tummy during ovulation. It occurs regularly every month. The side of the tummy it occurs varies dependant on which ovary is producing the egg.
Not all women get Mittlesmertz but those who do can use this as a predictor of ovulation. A woman is fertile for 24 hours after Mittlesmertz. After this time she is unlikely to conceive until seven days before she next ovulates.
