Hello
Just wondering if anyone knows how the Access Gap Cover works?
I am in a work health fund and they offer this Access Gap Cover, but not sure if my doctor would have even heard of it.
Do the big Private Health Insurers offer this also?
Thanks!
Pretty much all funds have a gap system. Known gap, no gap, access gap.... there are lots of different names.
Some of them use schedules, some of them use %, some use both....
To know how your one works you need to call the fund.
To know if your ob want's to participate in the scheme ask your ob
Good Luck :hugs:
As Izy said, pretty much all the funds offer this. You just need to talk to your drs and see if they will participate. If they do then all bills go direct to your health insurance and you will know what gap you have to pay before hospital stay. Normally you just a get a bill for the gap.
My ob and anaethetist were both access gap cover so it was great as they were 100% covered! NO BILLS!
My health insurance has a brochure that you can give to your dr if they are not involved......i think a lot are prepared to do it. We've found though that it's very hard to find a 100% anaethetist gap cover...my husband had his tonsils out and the out of pocket for anaethetist was $600!
