View Full Version : Dreamytime leaks, what am I doing wrong?
The first two nights I used them there was no problem, but since then I have had a very wet bub and bed every night. I am doing everything the same and the nappy certainly isn't full. I'm using a hemp pre-fold and microfibre. It is leaking from where ever she is lying (out one side or up her back). Any ideas?

Ok the only few things that come to my mind is that maybe they an excess of washing powder/liquid so they arent doing their job properly so maybe a few good rinses to strip them.
Otherwise im thinking that the inner piece of fleece is rolling out towards either the outer leg or the top of the nappy so its wicking.
Ive found this has happened to me on the occassions i overstuffed it so had to re-work the inserts.
Sorry will think about it some more & come back with any other ideas !

Has your hemparoo had heaps of washes yet? I find my oldest ones work best for nights. Mind you I havn't tried a dreamytimes yet... but I have one on the way!!
Ok, they are brand new so I don't think it's washing powder (I use the bare minimum) and my hemp is really, really old so it's definately not that (they are crispy as:D ). I think it is the fleece rolling out. I have an old Dreamytime and I haven't found it does it with that one, only the new ones. I'll have to be really careful and see how it goes. Thanks for your help ladies, much appreciated.:hugs:
That is really odd tickle .. I have not had a single leak with my dreamytimes (and trust me .. sometimes they are REALLY REALLY full!!! lol)
are they snaps or velcro?? could bubs be at a inbetween stage (between snaps??)
I'd be inclined to do a hot wash with no detergents to see if that does make a difference ... it suprises me that they are leaking with microfibre in them ... odd ..
let us know what happens... we are full of (useful??? incoherent/?? ) advice :p

Welcome back veve.
I had no leaks last night!:smiliedance: Must have been the fleece rolling out. They are velcro ones, I don't like snaps as much. Thanks.:D
soooo... does that mean problem fixed??? is the fleece sitting ok now???
(btw .. thanks for the wave :D ... feel all special :) )

:hugs: veve, how bout that.:p
I think so, I just have to make sure it's tucked right in. I've noticed if I just throw it on it sticks out, mainly around the legs at the back. Pretty sure problem's fixed, let me get back to you tomorrow morning.:D
My new Dreamytimes leaked about the first 3 times they were used...i was very :banghead: ..anyways, now they have kind of settled into a better shape around the legs. I think it is some kind of fabric mystery that i know nothing about. It's Ok if they are damp-ish in the morning isn't it? Like wool dampish i mean.
What color you got Tickle?
Ooo Mel, they are the cutest. I will have to post a pic of her in her pink one. I got the light pink, soft purple and apple green. I love them when they don't leak! I think it is the new shape. I have an old Dreamytimes that I haven't had a problem with but I think because the newer ones seem a bit bigger they don't fit quite as well.
Are these by Green Kids as well? I can't seem to find them on their website...do they still make them?
Yes, Green Kids. No, they don't make them regularly anymore although sometimes they release a couple on Ozebaby. They are quite sort after so if you see any 'grab 'em'.
tickle- yes, pics :smiliedance: We have the soft purple and a black. Queenie has the terracotta that i nearly kept for myself! What are you stuffing with anyway?
Just a hemp prefold and a microfibre insert, the usual. I'm going to test tonight with my very own, home made hemp! Very exciting stuff!:D
Isn't it massive on her!
But oh, so cute! I love a big cloth bum, trimness is not one of my priorities! I think i need to have a girl so i can get some pink, might have to TTC for #3:D .
You are mad Mel! I was just thinking I'm going to be really sad when she toilet trains, might reconsider a third then.:p
