Hi All,
I am hoping someone can give me a little advice. DD2 is 6 months old and has CMPI. We recently saw an allergist at our local children's hospital and among other things were advised to give DD2 2ml of Zyrtec every night to reduce her scratching of her eczema. I asked for how long and was told every night for as long as the eczema was around. The allergist also said that there were no side effects from such use (other than possible drowsiness). I didn't think much of it until I saw our child and family health nurse who was surprised to say the least - she had thought that long term use of Zyrtec could cause issues and that Zyrtec wasn't for children younger than 1.
Can anyone shed any light or share their own experiences with antihistamine use in under 1's?
