Hi Ladies,
I had my DS at the Brisbane Mater Mothers (Public) and assumed I would go there again but I have just been informed today that I am out of their catchment area.
Does anyone know which Hospital I would go to being that I live in Burbank (next to Chandler). I am still getting my Dr to try and get me to Mater but I would like to know where I would end up if I don't. I assume Logan.
Does anyone have any info on getting into a hospital outside the catchment, or on Logan Hospital if that is where I end up.
Cheers
Donna

Since when has Redlands not had a maternity section? A couple of years ago they were touting that they were trying to build a reputation on maternity and even now they are still listed in the BubHub directory as having a maternity section?
The Mater Private at Redlands may also be an option if you have private cover?

My friend had her baby at Redlands?
Burbank is sort of smack bank in between all three

Mater public at Redlands. I am told public paitents have their own rooms there and just share a bathroom with one other lady.

Does Redlands have Public or just Private maternity? I am a public patient

There are 2 hospitals on the same base. Redlands Public MAternity ward is really nice. I visited my newly born niece there last Friday. You share a bathroom but my SIL had it to herself.
Redland Mater Private is lovely too! I had my DD there.

Hi Donna,
Many of my friends have had babies at Redlands hospital public. They are all private rooms, which is something you don't get in any of the other public maternity hospitals. The facilities are excellent. If I was going public I was going to go there. I am in that catchment (I live in Wakerley near Manly West and gumdale so I am not far from you at all). We decided to go private though and going to the Mater Mothers private
A friend of mine who is 20weeks pregnant could not get into the Mater Mothers either even though she is in the catchment area, she had her first bub there and wanted to go back there for this one but they were fully booked and gave her the option of Redlands and she said she is really happy with them. Her bubs are IVF also.
Anyway I hope that helps.
