Just wondering, are some OPKs more sensitive than others, like HPTs?
cos i have done a ovunow one, and a confirm one, and the ovunow, has no second line at all, but the confirm one, does have a faint but noticeable second line. Or are the cheap ovunow ones, just crappy?
Thanks for your help
Hi Doula. Yes, I think the ovunows are ever so slightly less sensitive, but nothing that would make a difference to working out whether it is a positive result or not. I've used the ovunows and they are fine. When you are about to ovulate, you'll see a definite dark line, just like on the other tests. I think on some tests, I seem to have a very, very, very faint line all month, but I've learned to disregard this. The line will be noticeable when O is close.

thanks chicken :D
Hi!!!
I've used the Ovunow since TTC in Feb. I was thinking I had Oed each month as I was getting a second line @ CD14ish... the line was never quite as dark as the control & I thought it was because they were internet cheapies. This cycle the test line was DARKER than the control line... DP was starting to think his boys wern't in working order, but after he saw that test he said it was me!!! Well, as you know, I got a BFP this month, so I figure maybe I wasn't Oing. Maybe the pamphlet that comes with the Ovunow was right in saying the test line has to be as dark as the control????
:ecomcity:
Oh, & I got feint lines at other times during my cycle too... even during af???
ALSO.... I really, really hope they work for you, Doula. You soooo deserve this!!!:hugs:

yeah the instructions do say it has to be as dark as the control line to be a positive.
I am just concerned that one test has no line, and the confirm has a very noticiable second line, i know i am not oing yet, but thats just weird.
YAY you got your BFP, i know OPKs do work tho.

That 'peeonastick.com' website might be able to help. She did numerous test on hpt's & opk's. Even using an opk as a hpt??? Good-luck!!!

thanks Bexta, it was the same thing with these tests before, confirm, had a very noticeable second line, but the ovunow had nothing
Hi Doula
I have been using the Confirm OPK and found that the second line started as really faint but on testing over the next few days it got darker until it was the same as the control line. I also had the other symptoms of o including my usual cramping so I think it was pretty accurate. Unfortunately both DH and I have been really sick this month so I missed out on our window of opportunity for BDing :gloomy: . Better luck for you :fingerscrossed:
