Hey everyone, I'm new to bub hub and came across the site while googleing info on a thin uterus. I was told 5 weeks ago after having my second baby via c section that the lower uterine segment was very thin and that i shouldn't have any more children, and There seems to be quite a few women on here that were told not to have anymore children due to this reason.
HOWEVER no one has posted (or if they have i haven't found it) about weather or not anyone did have another child and the outcomes, and how their pregnancy's went.
If anyone has been through this and could give me some advise on what they went through it would be greatly appreciated.

Hi FallenAngel,
You sound like me 7 years ago
After my DD2, via 2nd c-sec, I recieved a letter from my OB stating he didn't recommend another pregnancy. He wrote if we plan on having more children we should make an appointment to see him, the thin lower segment of my uterus he discovered during the c-sec needed further discussion.
I cried over that letter many times. My DH and I always wanted 4 children so I was crushed.
I was scared of hearing him tell us "no more" so we didn't make an appointment.
For 3 and a half years we went through stages. We would say it's time to get rid of the baby stuff and move on with life as a family of 4, but then couldn't bring ourselves to part with it. I think we did that 3 or 4 times :o.
Our desire to have more children was too strong, we started scouring the net for info. We wanted to arm ourselves with as much info as possible and be ready for a proper discussion with our OB. We didn't want to just hear his opinion. Like you we didn't find much. I starting looking for rupture stories instead to know what to expect with worst case scenario.
We made an appointment...finally. He told us he repaired the uterus as well as he could. There would be risks with the uterus holding together. The c-sec would have to be done 3 - 4 weeks before due date so there is a chance bub could have probs with lungs. I could NOT go into labour. He did an internal u/s to check the scar, but said he couldn't tell me if it would hold. He was doing his best to sway us to not go ahead without actually saying it. He said it was our decision in the end.
Well we went ahead with baby number 3 :). I was excited, but there wasn't a day I didn't think about the risks. I took it very easy, I finished work at about 5 months and rested as much as I could. I avoided anything strenuous.
My pregnancy was going so well we managed to hold off the c-sec until 38 weeks. At our last appointment with the OB, he asked if we wanted to have my tubes done and we said "actually if everything goes well we would like 1 more".
As you can see by my sig it was a success story for us, we now have our 4 beautiful sweeties and we feel complete :cloud9:.
Also worth mentioning. I had a different OB for my last c-sec and once again I had a thin lower segment, but was described as extreme this time. To my surprise my OB said to me as he left..."If you go for baby number 5 we'll do the c-sec at 36/37 weeks"
:hugs:It's a hard decision to make.

Thank you so much luvmysweeties, It's nice to know that you were able to have more children with the OB giving you the possibility of having a 5th!!
I defiantly will be getting a few more opinions, i just know that I'm not ready to close the door at only 26 years of age!
I am convinced that my OB is overly cautious as she wasn't very keen on the idea of a VBAC which i was considering during my pregnancy, and since found out that the risk of rupture is only the tiniest bit higher than a first time mum!!
And like i said there have been a number of women who have posted on here and other sites about thin lower segment so surely it can't be game over for everyone, and your defiantly proof of that.
