View Full Version : Thrush.... again
So I have just treated myself for thrush once again (2nd time) this pregnancy. I used the Canesten pesary the first time and this time the doc told me to use the cream instead. She also took a swab test just in case to test for strep as well. Anyway so I used it last night and warning gross it's starts coming out this morning but mixed in with it is the "icky goo" as well but it looks a little green. Is this normal? I've not had it this colour and so much come out before even though it could just look like more as it's mixed in with the cream. I'm sorry it's gross but is that in any way normal?

I would go back to the doctor mate! Could be nothing but just in case!!
have to agree go see doc also if you have a partner he will need to be treated as well or hell keep passing it to you
Yep I've told hubby that he's going to need to put the cream on and he's cool with that.
Now all the goo has gone. I'll be getting my test results on Monday from the doc so I'll speak to her then.
Thanks girls.
pebilz, I hope you didn't dispense that cream to high inside and lose your mucous plug. :hugs: to you anyway. Don't forget eating too much sugar doesn;t help withthe thrush either. (assuming you have a sweet tooth)
not sure about the green colour but generally the whole icky goo sounds normal if you are using the cream dosage.
I get thrush alot during pregnancy.
The creams are preferrable to the pessaries during pregnancy.
Here are some things to help keep it under control
Keep a spare tube of cream on hand and treat at first signs.
Switch knickers a few times a day and don't wear any at night.
Make sure hubby has showered and his hands are clean before sex.
Eat healthy and stay away from junky sugary foods.
put the cream on before you go to bed so it has a chance to sit over night before gravity oozes it out.
and the usual things of cotton undies, no stockings or tights, and steer clear of skin tight pants etc wipe front to back with a dabbing motion.
When I was pregnant I was told I could only use the cream and nothing else.
Also how do you treat the male for thrush???
