My little miss is just over 3 yrs old and WILL NOT go to the toilet and wont use the potty :crying: I have tried everything I know .. stickers, lollies, all sorts of rewards, books, watching mum and siblings, no nappy time, putting her on the toilet every 20 mins and still she will sneak off wen i turn my back for 2 secs and wee her pants .. Does anybody else have the same issue with their little ones or does anyone have any tips that could help me?? I'm seriously doubting myself as a mother and so close to tears .. I never thought it would be this hard and I just want her to get it:fingerscrossed:

Have you tried one of those musical potty's? make it really fun. Maybe make it part of your regular day not just when going to the toilet. Get her to sit on it when shes eating dinner, or watching tv. read a book or sing with her while she's on the potty. Once she gets over her fear of it then you can start using it as a toilet.

I wouldn't bother with the musical potty, they are expensive... we have one and DS is having the same problem as your DD! No suggestions here either - wish I could help because it would mean that I'd have had some success with DS!

Maybe she's just not ready hon. One thing that I read consistently about TT is that if you push it you will not only have no success, but you will actually set your child back. Much more so than with other developmental stages.

How long have you been trying? I would really, really just give it up for at least a month. At least. Better that than causing a phobia in her which you will then have to work through.

A few more months really won't matter - she's still very young and there's plenty of time :hugs:

Oh I feel your pain. DS was 3 in June and only yesterday has starting going to the potty. We've tried bribery, treats, clapping and trying positive reinforcement.

What I did do was bought him some Buzz Lightyear undies. He is Buzz crazy. Now the weather is warmer I said to him yesterday, no more nappies except for sleep time, you're a big boy now and you can wear buzz undies.... and he went 4 times yesterday and even went at daycare today!!! So I'm off to buy him some How to Train Your Dragon knickers tomorrow :yelclap:

I dunno, may not work but just a suggestion?? I know it's hard but they go when they want to, try not to push too hard or you could create a negative association.
