Silent reflux - symptoms

For those who have little ones with silent reflux, how did you know your little one had this condition? Could you please describe for me the signs / symptoms you observe(d) in your babies?

I am sure my LO has it; we've visited two paeds and they say he hasn't :hair:

DD symptoms were fussing and crying when laying flat, fussing on the breast and then on the bottle, going stiff during a feed, making vomiting sounds, and her breath smelling of vomit.

all the above plus screaming during and after a feed.

If you are having trouble getting the paed to listen, some child heath centres have a day stay area where they observe feeding/sleeping. When I went they wrote a report to the paed with the symptoms and DD was promply given meds.

Mine were all the same as TusMama has listed, plus I constant screaming after feeds.

I would go and see another paed. I was in a similar situation where the paed we were referred to told me there is no such thing as silent reflux and that DD just had colic, but I then went back to the GP and she ended up prescribing losec, which made DD a different baby (proving she did have it!!)

ETA: just re read that you have seen another paed! There's a website with heaps of info on reflux (I think reflux.org or something like that? I found it on here), so maybe go on there, print out their info on silent reflux and the symptoms and take it to the paed, and also tell then your friends babies have been diagnosed as having silent reflux and present the exact same symptoms as your little one.

dd had all the symptoms as above. she got diagnosed during a tresilian sleep school stay first by the nurses then the pead. as with jackia's little one dd was precribed losec and was an angel feeder and sleeper ever since. trust your gut and get another pead. goodluck:)
