I am a keen sewer!! Just busy with uni atm...

But I have started making cushion covers, shaped cushions, blankets, etc that I intend to sell. I am also looking at making home made picture frames with the help of my hubby!!

Hubby also makes a lot of our stuff for home - woodturning - which I am trying to convince him to sell!! Dolls houses, etc!!!

What are you good at?!? What are you thinking of doing??!!

i make things too. craft/sew/crochet...
Tried my hand at selling them - but can't say i made alot of $$'s. Hard to make connections and know 'where' to go and stuff.
I was initially directed to places like etsy.com and madeit.com.au
but - didn't have alot of success.
This isn't to say you wouldn't - as it is something i've just started doing more of.
Would love to see some of your creations.

Do you have a blog?

I make hair bows and they sell very well. Facebook is awesome for networking with other WAHMs. PM me if you'd like links to networking pages.

I used make beehives, ones that you could mount in the tree. I did well out of that for a while as I did with the honey but you have to be diligent with bees. It's not a thing you can pick up when you like. It's funny but recently I've been called on to remove hives in the neighbourhood that are common during Spring and I'm making a bit of pocket money out of that.

I also make soap which took a while to master but was worth the effort as I enjoy the process. I have a little curing shed for it now and I palm them off at little fairs and fetes around the place. Selling them en masse is hard now as you are required by law to have NICNAS registration which is not only a joke but also costs a fair bit.

I notice jewellery and baby stuff is popular at local markets as is handmade sewn, knitted and crotcheted stuff. I'd love to know how to crotchet.

There's a publication out called Markets and Fairs which sells at newsagencies for about $5. You might want to start there with a view to working out where to sell your stuff.

I have just started making some little girls headbands to sell at the local market and we have made some modelling dough (Play dough) in unique colours and packaged it up with cutters... Greeting cards are another thing i am starting to sell...

I think the possibilities are endless you just need to get creative! :)
