Question about stretch marks - do you feel them coming (and are they painful or itchy, do you need to soothe them) or do they just pop up?

... thats what my first pg was like, I put heaps of cream on my belly to try and avoid them, and who knows if it was coincedence, I got none on my belly, but I got heaps on my boozies lol.... never realised how much they change in size... but yes, wont be parading them for too many people lol

Nuddle: I have noticed however, the bigger they are growing and when I am breast feeding the stretchies on the boobies don't look as bad, It's only when they deflate like a already blown up balloon that they look shocking! *L* hhahah.. :eek: :laughing:

:yes: noticed that too... sadly they got smaller after each pg, so I dont hold much faith for their size once I wean this one lol

Thanks ladies, I was told to not scratch and if I ever get itchy just to put cream on. I scratch in my sleep though!
But I've also read that if you're going to get them, they can appear overnight, and no amount of cream will stop them.

And thank you Jeanette & Jen, will give it a go soon (and free up my avatar for a more glamorous something!!)

Cocoa butter is supposed to help, but I've never bothered with it. No one ever sees my belly except for myself and DH.

I got a sample tube of it in my Bounty bag today and Matthew just found it......I told him it was for mums tummy, so he put some on and then rubbed it in. :laughing:

I haven't gotten any stretchmarks yet, either. I rub BioOil on my belly every night and morning (love the feel and smell of it, used it on my body even before I fell pregnant) and it's seemed to keep them away. I also was a huge advocate of cocoa butter before I fell pregnant, so maybe that explains it too. :thumbsup:

all my stretchies came in over night i am sure with ds haha but i dont have any on my boobies haha so i can parade my boobies just not my tummy HAHAHA joking oh well i say no one looks at my tummy any way only dh and they dont bother him as after ds mine faded really well when i lost heapes of weight and i also wore a bikini again hahahaha but i dont think i will this time as i bet my tummy is way worse this time....

I think its just a sign that you have very strong tummy muscles.... check out the due in march, there is a girl there called little toad, she is almost full term, but has a really tight tummy, and a really small one, though her bubs is fine.

you know I would expect if you dont pop out too much more that your tummy will be flat again really quick.... and yes, dont ever jinx yourself on the stretchmarks, lol, quick, go and find some wood to knock on.

Shanilee: I think your belly looks FAB, and I wouldn't be worried about it at all!.. I am no where as big as I was with my son, this pregnancy, and I felt I was small. But the Doctors and midwives seem really happy with my measurements and I have nothing to worry about!.. It's just how we carry our babies! Different women show differently! If you Doc hasnt said anything to you and said everything is fine, you have to believe them! It also depends on muscle tone as well. If you have good muscle tone then you won't appear 'as big'.. And you are lucky like me, no stretchmarks as yet!.. I am only just keeping my belly button in at the moment and that's it!...

Here's me at 30 weeks. I don't think I've changed much, if anything I feel smaller since bubs engaged.

I was a bit frightened over the weekend, reading about engaging early, but engaging early doesn't mean that bubs will come early..
