Hello:wave:
I am a student Midwife and will be undertaking clinical practical at Nambour General Hospital. As part of my degree, I am to participate in a Follow Through Journey Program designed to provide educational experience for students enrolled in the Bachelor of Midwifery Course conducted by ACU National, McAuley campus, 1100 Nudgee Rd Banyo.
The Bachelor of Midwifery course is an innovative education program which commenced in Brisbane in 2008.The philosophy of the course reflects the international definition and philosophy of the practice of midwifery, that is, with woman, a term that encompasses sensitivity to the needs of each woman and her family. The quality of the relationship between the woman and her midwife is central to this philosophy and acknowledges that the foundation of midwifery practice lies in a one to one relationship between the woman and her midwife.
If you agree to be part of the Follow Through Journey it will mean that the I will be in regular contact with you,can attend antenatal appointments and especially during the latter part of your pregnancy, and, with your permission, accompany you while you give birth to your baby and follow through you and your baby’s progress for the first four to six weeks after the baby’s birth.
Through this program, I will be mentored by an endorsed midwife. The benefit to you will be the development of a one on one supportive relationship, proven by research to be beneficial in positive pregnancy and birth outcomes.
SO if you are a pregnant lady who intends to give birth at Nambour General Hopsital and who may be interested in taking part in my follow through journey I would love to share in your journey and provide you with individualised support during your pregnancy.
Please contact me and I will provide you additional information on the program.
Look forward to hearing from you.
